The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Cannonfodder replied to Skara's topic in General Discussion
While I agree with the logic behind this, I don't get to play as often as I'd like due to other things taking priority so I'd rather spend my limited time and money going to games I know I'll enjoy rather than paying to spend a weekend wet, miserable and bored Filmsim sounds like a good balance between the two -
Waco’s guide to field sustainment

I should probably add that I've never used one for a milsim, just camping, but the first time it did use it I probably had the best night sleep I'd had when camping ever. The trick is to lay on it diagonally so you get a horizontal sleeping position -

Imo the best way to insulate yourself from the ground is to get up off it. If you're putting up a basha between trees then hang a hammock underneath it. They're relatively cheap, lightweight and more compact than a kip mat -
All not helped by the council pedestrianising so much of the city centre making any journey 4 times longer as you're stuck in traffic driving round in circles

The overall size isn't too much of a concern to me as I've been to some very well run sites that are small, for example Invicta's Black Site. Also it means a shorter walk to respawn. I agree that the mezzanine bit could cause some problems though. I grew up just outside Cambridge and I know what you mean, especially as it's only gotten worse. People who say London isn't car friendly obviously have never tried to drive through Cambridge

Macks airsoft dreamers of the week thread

What makes it worse is that it looks like the sort of thing I would've had aged 8 -
Like we should expect anything else

I found it was always worth having a look at warzones as you'll often find something different to all the people going on holiday. Early on in the Ukraine war I would often see Reaper drones or Poseidon surveillance aircraft flying over the Black Sea. There was also this last year which unfortunately I missed https://theaviationist.com/2023/11/22/usaf-ac-130j-iraq/

The nearest airsoft shop to me is only 5 miles away but I won't shop there as the owner is a complete bellend
-
Midweek games interest me because my shift pattern means I don't get that many weekends off and when I do half the time I've just finished a night shift
-
As I've posted before it never ceases to amaze me how so many airsofters are happy to be bent over and shafted by shops with terrible customer service

In short, yes

Good to hear. I get the feeling they were trying to fob you off with a load of bullshit in the hope you don't know consumer law. It makes me wonder how many other people have fallen for their lies and just paid up

Only when cleaning handguns as I strip them down for cleaning anyway. Everything else except the M4 stays in one piece as it's the only AEG I've got where I don't have to spend ages taking it apart and putting it back together. Even more so than ethyl alcohol found in booze* *Please don't drink isopropyl alcohol, there's a high chance it'll make you take a forever nap

My local asda has been reducing it's range of beer and cider so I've been getting some really good deals as they clear excess stock (eg bottles of Trooper for 68p) so I'm hoping they're going to do the same with spirits. Not sure my liver will be too pleased though

Agreed. The few times I visited their sites I never had any issues. A quick look on Google maps shows it's in the middle of an industrial estate so no neighbours to complain too. The other part which piqued my interest was that they're going to be allowed to open till 10pm so I wonder (more like hope) if they'll be running mid week games in the evenings

I couldn't find it in the actual act but I did find this https://www.gov.uk/accepting-returns-and-giving-refunds#:~:text=You can ask a customer,(5 years in Scotland). As you had it for only 2 months before taking it for repair their claims of being out of warranty are simply bollocks

I just had this pop up on Google. Good news for anyone in the Huntingdon/Cambridgeshire area https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cqvnq0j7q5xo.amp

Surely they should be "industrial", "medieval", "furure" and "aztec"? Especially if the head marshal is a bald thespian with eccentric taste in clothing

Agreed. At least on a regular skirmish I can ignore the gobby idiot if their idea is clearly bollocks. Also I get the impression many milsims are pay to win or are more like larping to a set story line. -
For me the go to brands are usually Captain Morgan spiced or Kraken, but if I feel like pushing the boat out (and getting absolutely shitfaced) there's always Wray & Nephew's ovenproof. If you're a fan of the fruity rum based spirits then I can recommend Captain Morgan Tiki. Just be warned, it goes down easier than Russia's black sea fleet
