  1. This. Maybe if more people were to exercise their consumer rights, rather than accept faulty goods and try to fix them at greater expense, then shops might actually be forced to up their game when it comes to customer service
  2. A simple set up but it works for me.
  3. A great idea. Having to use public transport can seriously restrict what sites you can get to without a long walk there and back
  4. Yes. Infact I'd recommend trying different sites if you're lucky enough to have more than 1 locally.
  5. If you mean tell ukara you're going to play at a on dates x,y, and z then no, just book the games with the site. Sites will keep records when you sign in (either paper or electronically) and some will use these while some will give you a separate sheet to be signed. It's best to ask on site No. I didn't have a site membership for a couple a couple of years till last week but I was still playing
  6. Shotguns are fun, I use one in cqb, but you do need to adapt your playing style and, as already mentioned, the spring ones can be a lot stiffer to cock. Gas guns are far easier but those cost more. A second aeg is always a good idea for those times you fancy using something else, or if the first gun starts playing up.

  8. Not quite right. You need a defence, being on the ukara database is just one such defence. It's certainly the easiest to use as it's accepted by the most shops but it certainly isn't the only defence
  9. £700 for a pistol which by his own admission isn't running properly, comes with a load of unknown "upgrades" (probably the reason it needs a service) and has that paint job https://airsoft-forums.uk/classifieds/item/51817-51-custom-hicapa/
  10. As above, even without the suppressor they're pretty quiet. The ASG Mk23 is a cheaper alternative but as the suppressor is a barrel extension you'll need to run without it, fit an aftermarket one (which will need an adapter) or mod it by removing the inner barrel.
  11. Another excellent game at South Herts Airsoft today. For a while now once a month SHA have been running a full game day midweek. Numbers were low (12 total) which allowed for some sneaky shenanigans, but with the site being quite small you're not at any risk of wandering around not seeing a soul. Great games and sportsmanship all round, this place is definitely turning into my preferred site and I highly recommend anyone to pay them a visit. At £20 green fees they're a good deal too. I'd recently put a Maple Leaf hop rubber in my specna arms M4 so wanted to test it out and I'm more than happy with the results. The stock rubber was barely able to lift .28g bbs, but now it's sending them much further and I think it'll easily lift heavier ammo. In the end I ended up using it all day with the MP5K staying in the gun bag. The only downside to the day was the fuck up fairy playing havoc with the trains
  12. As above. Take photos too so if there's anything you're unsure about. Yes, how it connects to the upper receiver. Both of those are too short for the M4A1 look, they MIGHT fit but you'd need to swap out other parts too
  13. According to the link you'll need a 363mm inner barrel. As for the outer barrel, iirc they're all the same length (assuming you want to keep the standard M4 look). The 14mm ccw stated in the link is the thread for the flash hider. The only issue you might have is how the outer barrel connects to the upper receiver as some are different to others
  14. I'd say it's a combination of the metal = good plastic = bad fallacy and that many are released in that race gun style with all the bells and whistles already attached, giving the appearance of a well tuned high end gun
  15. Nuprol do a tracer for around £40. While it's not the brightest it does the job and works with both red and green tracers
  16. It depends on the site so you're best to ask them. Also looks can be deceiving, just because the kid is short doesn't mean he's under 12
  17. But what happened to the first and second Revs?
  18. You're right that there's many self proclaimed official airsoft groups, but the sum total of what they've contributed to the hobby is ⅘s of fuck all. If I had a pound for every time a new organisation popped up claiming to be the saviours of airsoft, only to never be heard from again I could probably afford a TM NGRS upgraded by DCA. As for other shooting groups, they'll often try to distance themselves from airsoft and in the past have seemed to deliberately throw us under the bus in an attempt to save themselves. To me this is very short sighted as many airsofters are interested in other shooting disciplines.
  19. With airsoft being far more popular and mainstream than it was 15-20 years ago I think any attempt to restrict or ban rifs is going to get more push back than when the vcra was being discussed
  20. My response would be to tell them where they can stick that offer as it's taking the piss, I doubt that would even cover postage. I wouldn't accept anything less than a 100% refund. This bunch of clowns are definitely going on my avoid list
