  1. If you want to knock bak a coating a wire brush head for a dremel or drill should work. I'd lock the tool then turn the piece through the brush head. It should be enough to clean off the threads and not damage the shape, unless it's the cheapest of Chinese chessium.

Dunno if this is the right place for this, but does anyone know of any physical shops that carry a decent stock of combat trousers from the likes of 5.11/ helikon tex?

All the fancy pictures online never actually do the fit justice and I like to try them on beforehand to make sure they fit and look right/ presentable enough for work.

I did but the place went under during covid. I've found that military 1st have a good/reliable returns system when it comes to sizing changes.

  3. id second what lozart has said about seeing if you can find some exercises to aid with the knee. ive found over multipul reconstruction surgieries rehab never ends and continued use of the exercises as helped tremendously, im a little behind you regards age but the milage has been hard :P . Regards kit, what youre carrying doesnt seem too extreme fore long games, very simialr to what i carry. What might help is moving the weight about a little. I have various rigs and found that sometimes a heavier rig balances the weight better than having it all one side/front. the warrior 901 i have wraps my waist well and keeps everything close to the body, adding the back panel and then putting a source hydration armour bladder in it was a god send. it spreads the water weight evenly over both sholuders and keeps it very close to centre mass. i have a micro rig that i use for short cqb type games but adding fluid weight that isnt well supported makes it become uncomfortable after a while.

  4. I've been going through a similar issue of late, the kids and wide have swiped my headsets so I had to buy another, or try an alternative.

Sennheiser game one, game zero, both sound good and have a built in mic that mutes when lifted. They will also connect to an xbox pad and give game audio and chat via the connection in the pad. I don't know if ps5 has the connection in the pad so you'll have to check first. I've also been using gsp500 headset of late and its not bad, much more adjustment on the fit than the game zero. They breath well too if you go for the material pads and the open back.

  5. I've tried the built in balaclava type but didn't get on with the fit. I now use a delta Mike snood with built in mesh panel. It's much better. Easy to pull up and down, breaths better for keeping cool and it's nit bulky.  I think there's different versions with more or less mesh so it might be worth having a look.

  6. As a point it should generally go over your dominant side shoulder and under the offside arm. I always feel the sling should be fairly snug especially when aiming, taking out as much slack as you can so it doesn't restrict movement as much and has less chance to groin slap. as others have mentioned its common that using this type of sling means it'll rub against other kit on your chest.

  7. i started alone too, used to drive passed an airsoft event sign all the time and i decided to give it a try. im now in the moorlands too, depending where you are in the stretched out moorlands id suggest looking at anzio, a good site and although its changes over time can be seen it still an enjoyable site with a mix of wooded/ greenery and buildings to clamber through. if you end up that way im always happy to meet new faces, most of which are younger than me.

  8. the kingdom might be only running sundays as they are a shared use site, but that said it is good site. if you want a mix of indoor and outdoor play then anzio could be worth a look. it has some wooded areas in and around the buildings as the site and it will increase as the weather pushes further into the spring.

  9. I stopped using the little adapter when loading my mp9. The follower can be locked to the bottom of the channel and then just pop the feedlip of loader to the front face of the magazines lip. Admittedly if the follower cant be locked back in your mags that's going to make things a lot harder.

  10. talisman is a great game. if you want something that has an easier jump from traditional board games have a look for hero quest, its original form is great and i thinnk its just been reissued via a kick starter.

another option, a game i always seem to find way back to, blood bowl. it has had numerous table top versions and digital copies. its a fantasy sport based brawler based around minitures forming teams which develop as you play.

  11. i apprecaite that some people may be reticent due to laws, but knowing how to break the law doesnt always mean you have broken it. Knowing hwo to make a bike do 200mph doesnt mean you will or have broken the law with it. I suppose there is an element of trust involved, trusting people to make up their own minds on what actions to take with any given information.

  12. i have already started the ofcom registration and process for amateur registration and will be looking to go down that path. For the time being i just wanted to find out the measurements for a whip style dipole antenna for the baofeng kit. I ask here as i thought that somebody may have done the maths or know the lengths already.
