  1. For me it depends on the optic. Eotech types I cut fit acrylic to a flip up should piece, without the flip up piece.

For sights which limited in fitment option i default to one of the flip up units, as they can often be reversed to get them closer.

For scope with flip covers I cut acrylic discs and side them inside the flip cover so they are held between the body of the optic and lip of the flip cover.

  2. Sounds like a great build and the idea that dropping £60 on a visionking to test the setup style then move it along for the upgrade if you like it is a sound one and not to be completely dismissed.

Slings are a personal preference I have a magpul ms2 which, as a one point, I love but on longer heavier dmr use i found a tad frustrating playing recently. Having to sling the long gun to for the sidearm in close quarters I swapped it over to a two point configuration and it was ok but not great. In the end I have picked up a vtac padded two point for the dmr and it's much better a controlling the weight and moving from slung to use and back again.

Also with the work you're put in to the dmr, I wouldn't trust a cheapo sling.

  3. I try to drink plenty of water the few days before playing to make sure tissues are well hydrated and then carry a camelbak bladder in a sleeve on my kit.

Running gas mags water also helps balance the weight.

The number of folk I've seen wilted out due to poor hydration is silly and I tend to stay away from energy drinks.

However i do use a mineral addition for recovery if playing a double header / over night game. Drink towards the end of the day.

Works well for track riding and running about with pew pews

  4. Devil blasters .3g have been great for me running up to 350fps outdoor. I use Geoff for tracers mixed in with them.

If your using bio (non tracer) I've noticed that Geoffs aren't too badly priced when compared to other "better" bbs.

Inhave recently had to use the new rzr (indoor cqb) as I couldn't get the usual devils at the time and they were fine.

    Unlikely.

I have the 308 variant of the tr16 and a 1450 cell just slides into the slots. The cells would be too thick/square unless you changed the stock.

Have a look for crane stock batteries and make sure you get/a good balance charger.

  6. Morning all.

Does anyone know of an external Mic that has a boosted or amplified output for an ear piece?

I have a pair of 3m sporttac and ive been using the baofeng radio for some time, with small ear pieces, and I'm looking to make the sporttac work together with rhe baofeng but they need an amplified ptt/mic output for best function.

  7. I run a trmr and a vtg, both have been great and 100 blanks goes a long way.

I do use pyro too as some of the sites I pkay at have strict rules regards use of the heavier weight blank firing units.

For example flicking the pyro through a first floor window, which isn't allowed with bfg units.

It's the finding the tools for each job and I tend to run three fizzies, trmr and the vtg and that will do the day.

My limited experience of the bb launch type units isnt great and the best I've seen from them isn't worth the cost and admittedly there might be better ones but I won't be picking any up based on what I've seen.

  8. Like may others have said. Drop a line to the folks you normally play with and then Go, if your on your own it won't be for long. :)

I did find that having a radio you can channel hop with made joining quiet a few random squads much easier as even if your going out to snipe you can get a feel/info for what's going on else where and position accordingly.

They are a doddle to make, I did one last week to move an admin pouch below my chest rig.

Rectangular 6”x 7” bagGed panel with 3” of Velcro at the top and 3 rows of 1” webbing at the bottom.

That's the sort of thing a panel that can take a variety of pouch options.

I have one on order (3-4week back log at the moment and all made to order) but TheReptileHouse blog has a review (Google it)

Looks like a good option. Postage makes it a dearer option. I haven't been able to find any in the UK.

I did find that warrior do a vertical molle panel now.

  10. im just about to embark on a similar process of modding, changing to a semi only function, you mentioned in your first post that you removed the section of the fire selector plate that triggered auto matic fire. Is the piece that you removed the leading edge to the left of the return spring, meaning that it wouldnt connect to the pin there?
