Certainly not an expert but whenever this has been the case for me I’ve trimmed it if the C clip won’t engage properly, leaving the hop unit not secured into place with the barrel. If the C clip still fully clips in there isn’t really any reason to though.

Just caught your edit with the photo, that's great information to have. There seems to be so little out there in regard to the SD, seems like a great feature which I had precisely zero idea existed! Follow up question which I suspect is more for @JimFromHorshamlooking at his pile of bits. Do you happy to know/would you be willing to see how the extended picatinny into mlok top mounts sit on the SD. I imagine it's exactly the same as the A5, with the upper receivers/front end being the same in regard but measure twice cut once and all that. Toying with using one of those in combination with an Arisaka Offset to push a torch up front without needing to mount to the suppressor. In my head it works, albeit a tad goofy... but that's half the fun with SDs, especially when jubilee clips aren't an (convenient) option given where the battery lives!

Out of curiosity how easy would it be to chuck a tracer unit in the SD section? I hate the look of convention tracer units... but also hate adding more inches and grams tha needed onto a front end in the form of a 'proper' (read as Surefure Mini2/RC2) to accomodate a tracer unit. I've been eyeing an A5 for a while but the SD may well be a better pick for what I'd be looking to use it for... if it'd be easy enough to sling a tracer unit in it.

It varies depending on if I'm wearing the lid or not. With the lid fairly high up to avoid it getting jammed in the back of my head y the helmet suspension cam, without I wear it lower and have earpro that holds it in place. Just a case of messing around with it bending it until it felt just right, granted sometime I will wear it lower down especially if I'm not running mesh eye pro to avoid making the fogging worse. Seems to be very be a face shape thing as to how comfy folks find them.

Outside of mixing up the clothing accompanying it I've been pretty set with gear for a while. I ended up wearing way too many layers at the start of Saturday having expected it to be a lot colder than it ended up being. Toying with having a tubes conversion made up for the FCPC, not entirely settled on if it'll be worth it.

This has been on ongoing project since about November. Finally wrapped up late last week and running absolutely phenomenally over the weekend ??.

So Camelot was certainly ‘a thing’. The first hour or so of Saturday was great, the rest of the day was… pretty shite. The age old story of too many players and a grinding stalemate that resulted in nothing much happening… for a further 2 hours. And the reward for that in the afternoon? A reverse of the same game. Woo. Sunday (today) saw many players leaving due the general not so great experience from the day prior which led to far better flow. The games being a defenders hold and fall back versus attackers. Again, the afternoon saw this reversed which given how enjoyable the morning was I was happy to see. I’d defended in the morning, I generally prefer attacking. My newly jazzed up MCX was a monster all weekend, so thanks very much Dave if you happen to read this. With how well that was performing the weekend could have been a total wash and I’d likely still come away with a smile on my face. As ever, the folks I played had a huge amount to do with everything good that came from the weekend. For those that care, I’m third in from the left. Playing surrounded by giants, I’m bang on 6’ for reference.

Bit of a tinker to get the selector plate to play ball, and lower the power but I got there in the end. Entirely shagged paintjob as is customary for me at this point, absolutely smitten by this lump. Have different red dot mount en route because I'm not a fan of the standard Vortex lower 1/3rd but it's entirely functional for now.

Swapped out some bits on the AirLite so I can run AR or 5.45 mags on it without having to change anything out. The regular AVS 5.56 placard swapped for the stretch one, and the tall Esstac KYWI that would normal sit opposite the GP pouch for a Spiritus SPUD (which I’d been struggling to find a home for since I picked it up). To finish the Ferro Mini Dangler has been replace by a SORD TED. I’m not sure the AirLite will ever be toppled as my favourite chest rig, I used to swap around load bearing like crazy but I’ve been settled on the FCPCv5 and AirLite for a couple of years now and don’t see that changing anytime soon.

Not really sure what you’re shooting for here? You sent something incorrectly and got charged for doing so, as is outlined in their terms and conditions. I’m all for railing on companies short comings but this seems entirely fine. When you tick that box that says you agree to the terms and conditions, that’s exactly what you do.

You kind of just repeated what you’ve said initially in an abridged form ?. What I’m saying is you need to narrow down from there what it is you actually want. If more realism is top of the list then that rules out HPA and AEGs (though may add an NGRS on there if that’s something that would scratch that itch). If it’s better performance then to better ‘compete’, while I general disagree with the sentiment that HPA outguns everything, from your perspective that’s your answer. As for the primary versus rotation thing, I generally think most just have a rotation and from there you often land on your main squeeze. So I guess that’s a moot point of consideration. Tldr I closed my first post with, you need to work it down from ‘a bit of everything’ before any meaningful advice could be given on good RIFs to look at. A budget you have in mind is also useful to know, until you’ve got that figured out it’ll just be an ocean of opinions governed largely by anecdotes and financial justification cope rather than anything actually useful to you. And lord knows there’s already plenty of anecdotal shite on the ‘at some point in the future I will have an undetermined amount of money to spend on something’ topic out there already.

I generally land on AEGs still being the king when it comes to actually playing games. For the most part performance is neither here nor there across the different methods of propulsion, but AEGs provide so many convenience benefits. Cheap easy to obtain mags, get a few decent batteries that fit and as long as you look after them you’re golden for years. And that’s it, maintenance costs not withstanding as it’s difficult to place where they land on a person to person basis (if you do all your own tech work versus sending them off elsewhere etc). Keeping a stock of various pressure gasses gets, and stays, expensive. As good as the MWS is it has its limits with good performance once you hit certain low temperatures. It working, and it working well for a whole cold day are not equal. And as mentioned previously mags that come in around half a kilo each can take some getting used to, often resulting in further expense of having to improve the quality of your load bearing kit (which along side how expensive the gas can get is rarely mentioned). HPA? Been there, done that, went back to AEGs (specifically the NGRS at the time). The line and tank were annoying to me, more so because it forces me to provision for something on my kit I don’t actually want there than anything else. The variety of CO2 stocks out there promising ‘HPA performance without the line’ are absolutely full of shit, if they actually functioned as they’re sold surely everyone would use them? CO2 simply isn’t, and never will be as stable as HPA… and that’s before you have to dick around swapping out a capsule ever half a mag, or paying an absolute fortune for 33g cartridges in the hope you can clear a mag before it puffs out. Then you’ve got the variety of HPA ‘stocks’ which are absolutely gopping. I’ve used all 3. AEG is what I consistent come back to, the NGRS is great but the recoil actively irritated me to a point I sacked the platform off entirely. I love the MWS but mine is very much a back up, largely because I’m comfortable doing all the tech work on it myself. If I was anywhere near competent at teching AEGs I probably wouldn’t still have it. And the alleged ‘game changing performance’ from HPA is something I was left decidedly underwhelmed by, rendering my opinion that the biggest strength of HPA is the marketing behind them. For reference I’ve had a Fusion Engine build, 3 MTWs (2 of the OG billets and an forged) and a HPA’d Hicapa over the years. I guess the point I get lost in your post is what it is you’re actually after. Seems to start off that you want a back up to a back up, but then switches to maybe a primary rendering something you already have as a back up to a backup. AEG because of the benefits which have been covered and you’re well aware of? GBBRs for some realism you’re after? Or HPA because… truthfully I’m struggling to find why you’re looking in that direction from your post outside of everyone else is doing it? Seems to me you need to figure out what this purchase would actually be for, before narrowing down options from there and that’s not really something anyone on here can help with.

From what I understand it's largely down to things they say being vague/intelligently enough to give the impression it's produced in the UK, when in reality (at least as I understand it from leaked documentation) a decent portion is produced in China. Albeit with decent quality materials, assuming those claims are to be believed. As @Lozart has said their claims regarding development and R&D in general certainly don't help their case, given the majority is just clones of high end kit sometimes with the odd tweak... sometimes just a straight up copy. I've never owned any so I can't speak for it. Is it better than Viper? I imagine so. Is it anywhere close to something like C2R? I imagine not. Does it have a place on this list? I also imagine not.
