Think my Hop rubber is very slightly uneven since installing the SixG nub? Should I just reseat the bucking?

You know you've just answered your own question right? 😂

But yes, I'd do the same... just make sure when you reseat it the rubber is in the correct position.  Make sure when you slap both halves of the hop chamber together you don't bulge/buckle/sag/push or whatever the right word is to the rubber... but you know what I mean..

Well serves you right for reading this thread lol ;)

What are your plans for the CQBR?

I would but they are all assembled as I have been testing them! One day when I am bored I will

EDIT I have measured the very old and worn TM one and the "old" but less used DP one - the DP is 0.41mm longer over all. New pic is the TM (left) and Old DP (right) side by side.

It seems that the lightweight bolt has worse issues with low fps randomness. I think that certain combinations of bolt and nozzle mean the the BB can be seated too deep in the bucking meaning less fps and hop. New TM bucking with 4 clicks on the adjuster...may need one or two more but I only have a 10m range!

DP nozzle with DP valve and G&P stop (low) in a DP lightweight bolt is giving 260fps (0.30g, ASG gas, 14degC)

Same set up with G&P stop in the mid position = 315fps.

No weird drops in power, all nice and consistent :)

TM bolt with AG Mk2 complete nozzle is giving 270fps +/-5fps. Plenty of adjustment either way to compensate for the weather and ammo weight.

I have the TM and AG Mk1 nozzles as spare spares should I trash the other two!

    20210429_195852.jpg

The strange results with the TM nozzle are more than likely down to the wear on the front end of the nozzle...  I would expect each shot to drop by an FPS or 2 simply due to the reduction in the volume of gas and hence less pressure in the mag. The erratic behaviour implies there is as compression issue that's for sure.... Also make sure the sealing buffer (the rubber washer) is properly lubed up each time you take the bolt apart...

  3. Enquiries are already underway :)

And yes I expect TM to milk the platform due to the potential variants.

More interestingly will the architecture of this platform form the basis of all new EBB/Recoils going forward? Food for thought there I’d say!

I have been using the TM nozzle and had a DP one as a spare. I tested it the other day and found a slight FPS increase (I think it seats deeper in the bucking)....and then the back ripped off it! Mine was probably purchased 18mths ago and the spare from JKArmy (here in 5 days!) looks like a less shiny (brittle?!) plastic.

I need to give it a proper test but initial thoughts are the TM valve doesn't fit as it is a hair too large a diameter. The alloy DP one is fine. My TM nozzle has been giving inconsistent FPS (265, 266, 264, 150, 265...wait what?) and I think that is to do with the wear on it.

Stand them up vertically and see if the new DP nozzle protrudes a tad more. To me it seems the head of the nozzle seems a tad longer than the Marui one. But it may well be the way the pic is taken.

  5. For nozzle springs just get the ones Eagle6 make. Trying to get the Marui ones will not be easy. You just need to keep an eye out on the Japanese and HK airsoft sites as they tend to have the MWS parts in more frequently. Mind you nozzles and springs don’t hang around long so it’s the luck of the draw or a stock alert email.

PTS adapter - I use one but still had to use shims to achieve a tight fit. I added a couple to get my MK18 rail to fit snug.

  6. Don't get me ranting on about cheap BB's.... I won't go on about it..... Promise... Scout's Honour... Honest! Bloody Nuprol RZR shite BB's!

    This is my order...

    1. G&G's - The only downside about G&G is that you can't get the heavier ammo grade in the UK... I'm not sure why but you just can't.

    2. Geoff's - (Super Precision variant. Geoff's do both Super Precision and Precision https://www.outdoorandtactical.co.uk/product/geoffs-super-precision-bbs-0-32g-3000-white

    3. Longbow

    4. BLS

    5. ASG Devil Blasters

  7. I ran up a basement stairwell into an open large CQB area with mock walls. Barrels blazing. All gun ho. Not watching where I was running. Head look on one direction. Feet running in another. Then wallop. Straight into a wooden wall. I hit it at speed and bounced off it. The marshal came running over to make sure I was ok. He did ask if I’d filled out a waiver though. That was quite thoughtful of him!!! I did sit out for 15 mins or so to get my head back on straight lol. Looking back it was well funny. Lol

Anyone know how long camoraids.com normally take to ship guns?

Firesupport are so qiuck shipping orders out I would got the MWS from them if they had any instock  :(

Best to call them to be honest. Also give FS a ring to see when their next stock update is. They had new stock a 2 to 3 weeks back and it all flew out.

At least you underestimated for a change 😂

Most airsofters can shoot 200m like a friggin laser beam

I’m a tad more conservative. Mine shoots 199.9m and is like the Death Star laser.

If it’s only over hopping every other shot Id say you had an issue somewhere. Range and accuracy can be gained by running a heavier BB. I’ve found .30-.32 to be ideal for a standard power mws. Standard barrel in terms of accuracy is good. I only change the barrels now if it suits a power goal for a DMR build or a general length issue.

like @ReformedNiceGuy said, I’ve had many kills from across the carpark at anzio. In fact I had a test video somewhere that I measured with a range finder to be 60m from the bale of shit at the edge of the carpark (medblock side) to the bales against armoury/Garage. That was with .32 Geoff’s and 330ish FPS

NOTE: the barrels come from the factory covered in this brown shit though. I always give the inner barrel a clean, even on a brand new gun. You’ll be surprised how dirty they are new.

60m kills is pretty incredible for 330'ish fps... Which gas were you using? At 330fps it's certainly not green gas right? I've not scientifically measured mine yet but will have a go the next time I play...

  11. A mate of mine on here has bought a GBLS and he used it this weekend gone and he's simply smiling about it.... in his words the immersion when using it is incredible...  I have to say I'm curious to have a go on it and compare it to my KOA NGRS build and of course my MWS....  In his words... you'd better get ya cheque book ready! To say I'm a tad wary of having a play with it is an understatement. I just hope I don't like it..... otherwise bugger!!

I posted the AR pistol as I think if @Cyberlawyer went the 8” route it’s have to have a stock like that.

The lower is a 16” Recce setup, I think it looks cool in modern classic way, the Midwest rail and ACOG.

    Bipod is jank however :D

I couldn't think of a word to describe that bipod..... but yeah jank suits it :D

Now, now, what do we have here? Hmmmmm the upper 416C looking variant looks ok.... but the lower one looks as though it's been in a drag contest. What's it supposed to be?

Ah yes, of course. Thanks chaps

I think this is the one I was thinking about, I’ve got them on a few of my TM pistols:

    https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/laylaxnineball-hop-rubber-for-tokyo-marui-vsr-l96-pistols-mws-block1-purple

That’s fine. That will work. In fact I have one in my parts box.

    .

That GBB purple prommy is supposed to work very well with the prommy hop arm too.  I have one of those too in the parts box but never got round to trying it.

Good to know, thanks. Is it just a generic TM hop rubber then? In the olden days, it was common practice to replace them with a prommy purple wasn’t it?

Only a GBB rubber will fit.

What is the current hop rubber of choice for the MWS these days?  I really rate the blue Modify X, it’s very accurate, but they’re costing me £12 a go and they don’t last 5 minutes.  I put a brand new one in, and just 1000 bb’s later it is chewed up to buggery, and all over the place. Talk about the light that shines twice as brightly burns half as long.

I think it’s just too soft, and is designed to be used in VSR type guns, which would never fire 1000 bb’s in 2 weeks.

I’m running a 303x 6.02mm inner barrel, with a wide, open window and Dave’s nub.

I’d stick to the Marui rubber truth be told. I used the tan modify one and it lasted a few hundred rounds. It may well have been the rubber was a dodgy one, who knows. The Marui is spot on. Always keep a few in the tool box from now.

Solid work 👍🏻 I notice that there isn't a linear relationship between the 0.30g and 0.20g results - Take for example the TM bolt set up with an average of 285fps on a 0.30g, the same energy 0.20g BB should be going about 350fps....but the result is only about 320fps. I guess this is to do with the acceleration of heavier BBs, time to clear the barrel and effect on how fast the rocket valve closes. In all AEGs I have tested shooting at 285fps with 0.30g will always fire a 0.20g at 350fps just by changing the ammo weight.

So well below the limit if tested at a site on 0.20g BB, but as soon as you put in 0.30gs to play and it might be (slightly) over the limit 🧐

Exactly. You’d think a 285 FPS 0.3 bb would them churn out the equivalent  0.20 bb at 350fps but my tests clearly showed that was not happening. With an AEG definitely the relationship would be almost linear as you said in your post. GBBRs are not an exact science. They are just fun to use.

Here is a thought. It could well be the quality of the 0.2bbs they were Excels and pretty old too. Dare I say it about 6-7 yrs old maybe more. I do have some newer 0.2s so I’ll give them a go at the weekend and see what transpires.

  18. Guys, I did some FPS testing way back in January using a G&P BCG and a Marui BCG.

For those who want to know what power you get from using Abbey Ultra Predator gas (the one that comes in a red can) see the attached pic. I did some testing using 0.3 Geoffs and 0.2 Excels at a temperature of 20c (I do believe). The left side shows a G&P bolt carrier group. On the right is the standard Marui bolt. The max figure for the G&P bolt was 387fps!! With the Marui bolt it was 329fps on 0.2s. Interesting results eh? The mag was filled up each time fresh of course which explains the initial high power.

The main reason for the G&P bolt having a higher output is the floating valve in the nozzle. Obviously it's set to allow more gas to get pumped into the valve. Yes I can remedy this with a G&P NPAS which I do have but just haven't got round to installing it.... I will do at some point and then report back... (but don't hold me to that lol)

Nope... just type in used and see what pops up. I should have clarified my statement and said I was looking for used airsoft before I typed in Airsoft see what the search result shows
