  1. As the title suggest, what are the best horrible accesoires you've seen for anything related airsoft? (Think that picatinny mount nutsack). Pictures related. Anyone keen on having this particular lady adorning your RIF, go here: https://airsoftdirect.uk.com/spotter-gloria-rail-mounter-iron-site/
  2. You're close to two good sites then: Red Alert in Reading and Skirmish in High Wycombe. You might see me running around either sites when you go visit (as well as some other forum members)
  3. Hence why I stick to bog-standard M4's for now (gonna try my hand at upgrading soon tho) so I should be able to repair/replace anything that breaks. As for anything outfit wise: I don't care if anything happens to it, I'm there to roll in the mud (really opens up those pores) and get dirty/scratched. I'm not a big fan of having kit that still looks unused/new. Hell, lot of the stuff comes from army surplus stores anyway so it already looks used and sometimes has visible repairs.
  4. "It sounds like you're just feeding makarovs to the scrap pile."
  5. Looks like this could be fun. Have to see if I can make it that day.
  6. I went to Skirmish for the first time in about a year yesterday. They have a load of new marshals who do seem more on-point.
  7. After about a year-long hiatus I had my first game again yesterday, at Skirmish High Wycombe and I definitely enjoyed it. The site has changed a bit since my last visit, although mainly the safety zone, with more covered tables (but thankfully I stayed dry yesterday), a better food joint in a separate container (their bacon baps are great and bigger than expected, I almost had some struggle finishing both). It seems they have a few more marshals walking around now who are, thankfully, a bit older. From what I remember from a year ago, most of the marshals were quite young (some not even 18) which meant they didn't really have the (figurative) dick'n'balls to stand out over some of the rougher clientele. These new marshals were very good and didn't take crap from anyone. Even tho it stayed dry all day, the field was quite soggy and muddy, but that seems to be the norm there My highlights of the day were: - Everyone doing their best to avoid a massive muddy patch to not get their shoes dirty. - That same muddy patch having the objective, so there was no choice but to go through it if you wanted to win - Coming over a hill and see a group of (opposing) rentals looking somewhere else and spraying the whole lot of them (about 15M distance so no need to feel sorry for them). - Seeing the same group of rentals refusing to push the same flank for the rest of the battle and always attacking the other flank instead. - Getting called a cheater by one guy on the opposite team who complained to the marshal about me not taking my hits. - Another marshal standing close to me most of that game and noticing I accepted every hit I recieved (and even told me that I wasn't shot in the back but that it was a ricochet so I could stay where I was after I put my hand up). - Seeing someones rifle stick out behind a barricade and hitting it from at least 35M distance. (Not that my aim is that great, I fired half a mid-cap that way. Worth it!)
  8. Welcome fellow Berkshire-er (is that a word? can we make it a word?) There's a couple of great sites in Berkshire area, whereabouts do you live? Me and some of the others on the forum go to Skirmish Wycombe quite often, if you ever need some cannon fodder to join you, let me know
  9. Just read about the latest restrictions, I guess that's no airsoft for a month then? Bummer, should've booked a space this weekend, but don't really want to play in the rain.
  10. only reason I bought a clone was ebcause I couldn't find the original anywhere, did 2 events with it and hated it. handle fell off before the first game, made a new one, but the amount of grinding noise and plastic dust was quite off-putting. this one actually feels solid and not cheaply made. we have a saying in Dutch that goes "goedkoop is duurkoop" and it basically means that buying cheap stuff is more expensive in the long run
  11. Just got my Tippman/Odin M4/M16 speedloader in the mail. quickly tested it out on some mags and it works so much better than the el-cheapo Nuprol one I had before. 2,5 times the price, but at least I can have faith this will keep working, and working well, for some time to come
  12. I've been buying Molle compatible pouches for a whike, mostly for my backpacks as I need different configurations every now and then. Thankfully some of those also come in handy in my current loadout. I currently have a simple chestrig which mostly revolves around 4 magpouches (which I did buy specifically for airsoft, never used on my backpack weirdly enough) but every time I play I alter something afterwards which makes it fit my playstyle a bit better (from moving my magpouches one column to the right to adding pouches, or removing them). I've recently bought a combat velt with which I might experiment a little to see if I like that. Maybe go for a plate carrier/combat belt combo at some point. But I also have thought of some different pouches to buy, when I have some spare budget for it again. This is also why I like the "loadout" post to scroll through and look for any ideas in there I can blatantly steal.
  13. Speaking about reviewers, did you guys hear about the youtuber who did an "honest review" where he was absolutely positive about Nov's SSP-18, and then it turned out that he directly works for Nov?
  14. The RIF and scope I already had. But I bought the Mlok to RIS rail, the foregrip, flash-hider witch quick detach suppressor, kneepads and belt. The problem is that the flashhider slides over your barrel for about an inch, guess who didn't notice, and also guess whose barrel is slightly to big in diameter for the flash-hider to fit, and thirdly: guess who has access to a lathe at work so doesn't really mind this at all. Lastly I bought a Nuprol bipod last gameday (not pictured) which now lives at the front of my RIF
  15. Had a good day at Skirmish Wycombe with @Barny and @snuff. fun games, all though it does feel like the teams were a bit uneven. I definately still love my RIF, got quite a good amount of kills with it, even at longer distance. There were some account of non-hit taking, but nothing I could get to bummed about. During the last game a fight almost broke out between two players about taking, or not taking, hits. one guy dropped his RIF and started taking his vets off. Luckily I was standing closeby, shouted at them and got between them before they got any close and managed to make them act like adults (at least for as long as they're on the field, after that it's not my problem anymore) I think some words were spoken between the two groups later (probably not very friendly ones) but both parties did eventually go home without anything serious happening. I like Skirmish, good big site, and even tho every gameday has roughly the same games every time (the good part is that you get more and more experience on the field and will find out what good tactics are). The marshalls are good, altho today, with the rowdy players, it became clear that they're maybe all a bit too young still (I think they're late teens to early 20's) so when everyone behaves themselves not a problem, but when idiots want to start shit they don't have the experience to adequately handle the situation. it didn't put a damper on my day tho. Most of the day was good, not gonna let 5 minutes destroy my mood. also a plus(-ish), for lunch there was lasagne (with chips which I think is an odd combo, but hey) normally I'm not big into pasta but I was quite hungry so managed to eat something anyway. still a bit of an unexpected luxury. and Skirmish is now also offering breakfast in the mornings (before 10) haven't tried it but cool that they do it.
  16. The only reason I made a Facebook account again is solely to check on airsoft sites as that is where they post the pictures taken on gamedays and it's easier to ask questions. Other than that I don't miss it one bit. Instagram was already starting tondrive me crazy so I turned that account into a work-only account and did a big purge of people I follow. (And then ofcoirse I made a 2nd account for airsoft only, which so far I only kinda regretted twice 😅) The big problem with Facebook is that everyone is on Facebook, which means that if you don't, it's more difficult to stay in touch with people you do want to stay in touch with.
  17. Cranking handle on my speedloader changed its mind about being a cranking handle for a speedloader. So I made a new one on the lathe out of some spare brass stock. Annoyingly I did find some pre-made metric screws, but I couldn't find the metric tap and die set. So I made both a new screw as well as the handle using BA thread. Added some superglue on the thread for good measure.
  18. Might hit up Skirmish again this Sunday. Anyone want to join?

  19. I like playing with others. Every game day you see two teams of, mostly, solo players. Later in the day, when you get to know each other, you see a lot more people actually playing together and I like that much more. I'd love to be part of a larger group going to games together often, that way you really learn to play together and you have much better teamwork going on.
  20. I had a good day at Skirmish Wycombe last Saturday. My 3rd game with my own RIF, still in love with it. I don't really have any memorable anecdotes. Just had a good day skirming. Got some compliments at the end of the day tho, saying that I'm a good player so that was fun to hear ✌🏻
  21. Had a good day at Skirmish Wycombe again with @Barny and even saw @snuff there.

Barny and I were thinking about getting a large forum squad together at Skirmish sometime in the near future, what say you: @GAMBLE @EDcase @Badger (did I forget any? 🤔)
