  1. So it's was 100% my battery. *shakes fist* NUUUUPRROOOOOOLLL! Switching to my usual AUG battery, a decent RC 7.4v, 1600, 35c, I'm at 24 rps immediately. Damn, now I gotta choose between some new leaves and dye, or new batteries :c
  2. It's hard to google, not many running these motors. But it seems they have a warhead owners facebook group so I might inquire on there, to see what others are getting.
  3. Since this is the only kind of active warhead thread... I've put some zci 13:1 gears in, and pulling an m115 spring with the warhead high speed, 1450 30c 7.4v battery, perun ab++, and it's getting about 18rps. Trigger response feels great, but I was expecting closer to 25rps compared to some posts I've seen. I guess it's just because I'm running a 7.4v? Maybe my expectations are unrealistic. Seems a touch low for such an expensive motor. Edit: Using the "hs5 formula" and substituting the warhead for a 22tpa motor, the rps comes out at 17, so I suppose 18 is about right. Also I loosened the motor a little and it's somehow even smoother 😫
  4. Phoenix feather airsoft has a video from a few years back at an event, someone was caught using glass bbs because someone got shot and it shattered on his mask causing his face got cut up underneath.
  5. You can get the theoretical max rps if you divide the motor's rpm by 60, then again by the gear ratio. Real world will be less, e.g. I have seen examples of someone with the warhead high speed on 11.1v with 13:1 gears on an m120 spring. Theoretical max is 46 rps, but they were getting 38. Currently basing my expected performance on that since I'm running an m115.
  6. Nope, only if it's faulty. https://www.gov.uk/accepting-returns-and-giving-refunds Yeah, that'll do it. Blue/medium is supposed to be removable by hand. No way it'll hold up to being used on a motor.
  7. My concealment vest had an odd whiff to it, but a week or so hanging up seemed to get rid of that. Now it just smells of paint and dirt 😂 Not a bad thing if you trimmed it into a viper/cobra hood. Just something that'll fit over the top of your gear for a bit of extra concealment. You can use it as a base to attach a mix of dyed raffia and jute, maybe some fake leaves, or add bands for the real stuff. Just that outline breakup is such a step above even proper camo colours. Also, you don't have to be a sniper. It will depend on you fields, but personally I'm using a "1j DMR" build which works great for denser forest. You may have seen a video of a ghillie guy with a bird on his head and gun. That guy plays at our field and last Sunday I was about a foot away from taking cover on him as I thought he was the fallen tree he was sat behind. Absolutely amazing leaf suit.
  8. did you use loctite? if so what type? I'm gonna be putting one in tomorrow. It would've been today but I burnt myself on my heat gun
  9. Finally remembered to take a pic while out. I'm definitely in the "premium" stage of my kit 😂 Though the ghillie is crafted, I'm using a Viper concealment vest base, some jack pyke stealth camo hide net, and some raffia and fake plants. I've had people walk right past me when I'm low to the ground. Using some jack pyke digicam soft shell clothing, which is decently warm and waterproof, and seems to be a good camo pattern though possibly approaching a bit dark for this time of year. Also a digicam balaclava that's been cut up and attached to my mesh mask. A simple kombat chest rig with their molle yoke for holding my knife and comms, and a hydro pack on the back. It's a nice lightweight kit with a surprising amount of space for things. Also a drop leg dump pouch, no idea what brand, I just bought it of some guy. Not pictured is the tactical bum bag, very handy I must say. Gun is a nuprol ak21, all the compression and hop parts have been changed, and it's getting new gears, motor, and mosfet soon. Pretty nice so far, it throws 0.36s out to a bit past 60m at 1j. Also a hawke 3-9x scope, really nice for woodland I find. I can track shots through narrow gaps in bushes easily, and the little rmr on top means I can be reasonably quick at close range. It's covered in jack pyke tough tape.
  10. Damn. Maybe I'm too forgiving. It was just very confusing in the morning, I'd shoot the rental kids, and they'd sort of run off behind some bushes and come back, one even dry fired at me when dead, so I pointed my gun and him and he puts his hand up and says "no I'm dead". Just a strange situation tbh. I held a lot of them off in that water tube game later on though, and they seemed to be taking their hits pretty well during that game. I didn't notice anyone else, personally. The wind didn't help at all though. 😂 I heard about this at the end, sounded like someone was walking along with a bare gun out, but if it was you with gun bags that's a serious overreaction. Christmas game should be good though. No sneaking for me at that one
  11. Really great day out, even when losing most games. Ghillie cape/cobra hood is working wonderfully, had someone within two feet of me while lying down, and it enabled me to shoot many, many children 😈 I think some of the rentals got a bit confused with taking hits, buuuut they couldn't see me so I just shot them again if they acted alive. They seemed to get better through the day though, so they do learn!
  12. What an idiotic move from a business. How is this risk worth 200 views? Especially if they're deleting comments as is being said, trying to cover up this mistake. Just un-list the video, or send it direct to the customer, no reason to post a public video of your committing a nice crime.
  13. I do appreciate them using vices and testing different ranges in a closed environment at range. It's a step above other reviewers.
  14. I do it for identification in case I drop one. Though some of my mags have it at the top because the mag well on my gun is a little large so it prevents wobble and misfeeding.
  15. I've been using this self adhesive neoprene foam strip for padding https://amzn.to/3kJpSR4
  16. Nah I'm just an idiot 😁 I meant polycarbonate. Interesting that there's other model out there. I've only seen the ess fan goggle copy called "fma goggles", and the ones I have get dented by my high cycle.
  17. I'm not sure if this is better or worse than my recent nuprol purchase that was bone dry inside the gearbox. I will always advocate for people learning at least the basic "teching" skills. Why spend a couple of days airsofting money and waiting for a few weeks when you could spend an hour doing your own basic service?
  18. I wouldn't recommend using those, the plexi (if it is that) is very thin. However, very useful if you pull the fan out and attach to a stronger pair of goggles. I consider £15 for a prebuilt fan and speed controller to be a reasonable deal.
  19. Sweatband + some revision wipes would probably cover you. Maybe some goggles where the opening for airflow isn't the lens itself, like some valken tangos with the foam removed. Those with the thermal lens + revision wipes would be hard to fog, and a sweatband should keep the sweat from getting onto the lens.
  20. So a friend and I had an impromptu day out at driver wood, as impromptu as you can be with pre-booking anyway. I was trying out my new ghillie cobra hood, new camo clothes, and a new scope. They've got a very fancy staging area, lots of benches for everyone, despite the probably around 200 people there, a cafe, quite nice toilets, and a little area to watch the paint ballers while you eat lunch. We played entirely on the two long roads with 'the maze' in the middle, which might as well be a cqb area with how dense it is. It's a nice area to play in though, there's a few sightlines and vehicles in the middle. First downer was that I forgot my fan goggles, so I had to use my shooting glasses which at least don't blind me, but do fog a bit. This also meant I couldn't run face pro with camo on the front as it would make the fogging even worse. not a super effective ghillie with a big pink face in the middle. Anyway, first game I had a nice spot watching the double decker bus on the road, but about half way through the first game, maybe 30 minutes in, there was a call of 'game over' from a nearby field of paintballers, and I thought it was our game, so I stood up and then got shot in the head, and never managed to push that far in. Kind of a negative imo. Also someone very angry at people not calling hits and being overshot. Actually lots of complains of overshooting. Personally I blame the vegetation for this, I didn't see hit shruggers myself. The veg is just thin enough you can often see movement through it but your bbs will get thrown every which way bar forwards. Still, it's not a pleasant experience to have people yelling at each other nearby. It did seem to get better as the day went on, maybe señor shouty went home or calmed down, idk. There was a pretty cool game mode with where we had to capture some "rogues", players with a 15 sec timeout on hit. We also did some bomb escorts, and some zombies at the end. Although parallel games does have some drawbacks with fields so close, it does mean rentals aren't forced against walk-ons, and while I'm not against that, it means almost every player is playing nice and aggressively, supporting the objectives and so on. It felt very even in the teams, though I have zero idea who won any of the games, lol. Ghillie worked really well, especially in the thick veg of the maze. I had one player only spot me due to the neon green armband I had to wear, and some not see me even when I was just milling about standing up. With my fan goggles, face covering, and the more subdued colour of my local field's arm bands, I have some high hopes. Though I do still need some pictures in the game zone to really judge it. I am 100% shortening the back a little though, I kept stepping on the tail ends that had gotten a bit ripped. Jack pyke digicam. Pricey, fits small so instead of a large I'm a 2xl now, but a really nice soft shell outer layer. I thought it would be a touch rustley but I was able to move silently with it. I was kept dry of all the damp mud I was kneeling in, kept warm though it's not super cold today. Blends well with the ghillie. I like it. Again, would be curious to see some pics of myself in it. I'm really bad at remembering to take pics. Scope was good too, it's a Hawke Vantage. Nice and easy to zero, hasn't moved. Did general scope things well. When I wasn't fogging it was wonderfully clear. Overall a decent day for standard £25 walk on pricing.
  21. When my l86 lost a ton of power it turned out to be the nozzle o-ring being worn down. Check the bucking looks good and is positioned correctly. Could also be the piston head o-ring,
  22. Well that's unfair to Worthing tbh. Truthfully, while the facilities are very basic the marshalls and players are excellent. And it's a nice bit of varied woodland to fight in.
  23. I don't like that their facilities page seems to be comparing to my local 🤣
  24. I suspect a .32 is about the heaviest that a bb can be with normal bb plastic. Though if you're throwing .36s you're probably not doing a run 'n' gun type build. I haven't yet been through a bag of 1000 over 2 game days so the price doesn't bother me a huge amount. £11+shipping for 1000 geoffs.
