The problem with Airsoft Facebook groups is that they get swamped with "show us your M4 pictures" "is Taiwangun any good" and the perennial classic of asking for opinions on guns after they have bought them instead of before, or how to upgrade them when they have never even skirmished them.
I would however miss the pictures of loadouts in slippers because mum doesn't allow boots in the house, and the bad selfies in the bathroom mirror with pants drying on the radiator in the background.

Indeed it was. Got to hand it to him, it takes skill and perseverance to get banned by every single airsoft forum. I believe he started his own as a result and it all went a bit L Ron Hubbard..

Reminds me of the Incident many years ago when someone posted some photos from Arnies on the "Search for a Walt Star" thread on ARRSE, and the subjects of the photos went on and tried to argue with the soldiers.

Still waiting to get those magwells back but here’s a quick update.

The Notritsch has now got its optics mounted in a fashion I’m happy with and is running like a champ.

The accidental Limcat is also almost finished. I think I’m just waiting on the magwell to come back. The Limcat hammer is a bit swish!

The Baby Hicapa that came with the mount for the Notritsch is almost done. The outerbarrel causes the slide to lock up so I’m waiting on a Guarder barrel to arrive from Firesupport

Finally, the IPSC holster is amazing. Combined with the IPSC belt, the holster doesn’t flap about and makes for a nice, crisp pull. Need to see how it holds up!

Received and reassembled, the SSP1 is unrecognisable. As was predicted at the beginning, it’s a proper Trigger’s broom.

    I present the Notritsch

Can't understand why people persist in trying to resurrect the FB Airsoft groups that keep getting closed down, new variants on a name etc won't change the fact that FB opposes anything that relates to guns, even toy ones, & half the population of said FB pages are juvenile cockwombles that can't follow the simplest of rules.
The sensible members need to give up flogging a dead horse & migrate back to the forums such as this one.
As for the cockwombles, they can just fuck off full stop 😜.

I got a set from Landwarrior airsoft. They had them up for pre-order for a bit.

I haven't got to use any in anger yet but I have tried them out on my 3 guns: HPA'd G&G PDW15, AAF M4 and a PTS ACR.

I loaded them with 0.3g bb's as this is my weight of choice for all my AEGs.

    G&G PDW15
    HPA System : Fusion Engine
Comments: Inconclusive - EPM1 mags fed intermittently but so did my usual PMAGs which feed flawlessly in this system otherwise. The reason - Air tank is very low and its just not providing enough air for the system.

    AAF M4
AEG - GBLS DAS like recoil system but will accept any AEG mag in theory. Stop on empty will work with any standard AEG Mag (including Hi caps)
Comments: Does not feed. Reason - The mags have a small wing/lip at the top (see image) that prevents the mag from seating properly in the mag well because of how stop on empty system sits in the mag well. If I shaved those wings/lips off I'm sure it they would feed fine but I've just paid £28 per mag for them, so I'm not shaving shit off them.

    PTS ACR
    AEG - Standard AEG
Comments - Feed flawlessly - every shot on semi fed a bb and full auto was perfect too.

    Loading the mags
Advice for anyone considering getting these mags. Get a Odin sidewinder or clone. Yes you can load them with the usual thumb style speed loader but the last 50 or so BB's become every tough to load using them. Required a lot of force and you'll all most certainly break the speed loader (the stem for the plunger most likely) at some point. More importantly you will get repetitive strain injury on what ever finger(s) you're using to load these.

Be sure to properly adjust the clutch on the sidewinder to ensure it slips once the mag is full, else you'll break the sidewinder (I learned the hard way, fortunately it was my clone that went to speed loader heaven and not my actual Odin)

    Conclusion
I'm sure they'll feed just find on my HPA system once I've filled the tank because they feed just find in my PTS ACR which is a bog standard AEG, no fancy upgrades of any kind.

Overall I'm really happy with the mags. the quality if exactly what you expect from PTS and the design is well thought out. They've added grip surfaces to both sides of the mag and the front (where your finger would go if drawing using a indexed grip from your chest) that make the easy to grab and pull from whatever retention system your using. (I use WAS elastic M4 pouches). I'd recommend them to anyone looking for good AEG mags and has the budget to pay for them.

    TL;DR
Buy an expensive gun that's completely fine, replace all the good parts with equal quality parts, spending even more money, to end up with the same performance you had in the first place.

Get yourself a copy of Airgun World and learn about building safe backstops etc.  Then have a look at some of the replica airguns e.g. the K98 replica by, I think Original/Diana.  Far better for target practice than an airsoft sniper.

If you want to do targets without running about, try practical pistol airsoft at your own pace.

How about a GSG 1911 and Section 1 license at your local gun club?  Some very nice M4, AK, MP40, PPSH and MP5 platforms available.

As Adolf Hamster says, you can always play airsoft at your own pace on a site.  If my arthritis plays up I am no racehorse I can tell you!

My best kills today were from hiding until the position was overrun and blatting several players in the back as they advanced passed me.  I was sitting down and got myself nice and comfy.

John_W reacted to Adolf Hamster in Call Your Hits, or a Cautionary Tale of Marksmanship
this probably isn't going to come as a great revelation to most  but i figured it's an interesting story that maybe merits use as a means of reminding people about the greatest of airsoft sins- the non hit taker.

so to preface this we all know the cry, "call yer [redacted] hits you [redacted]", a yell of frustration at the perceived sin of a player breaking the honesty on which our game is based. it's a trap we've all fallen into and i won't deny having fallen for it many times myself.

of course the key word there is "perceived", to many the issue of crying foul is just as egregious as cheating in the first place, no doubt born from having been on the receiving end of such accusations and knowing that the supposed "hit" flew wide (or in my case dropped short).

it's a lesson it took me many years to learn, that it's really worth giving the benefit of the doubt in a lot of situations. these days i do my utmost to let things slide unless not only do i see the round make contact, but i know the range and hit location are such that there is no chance of a legitimate no-feel (especially important when engaging at the limits of your range)

however recently i had quite an interesting experience that really highlighted the whole issue.

a fella had popped up at the site with a rather fancy dynamic targeting system, you had 4 head sized targets which would detect a hit and fold away. really rather snazzy.

the site owner had decided to run a little shooting competition, nothing too fancy. the targets were spaced with 2 at 10m, and 2 at 20m. they were set with a 4s exposure time after which they'd hide for about 10 seconds (cant remember how long it was exactly).

when you hit a target it'd fold away and stay there. so the aim of the game was simply to get all 4 targets as fast as possible. if you hit a target and it didn't pop then it was still counted to make it fair for folks with underpowered gats.

so in the spirit of "this looks like a lark" i decided to have a crack at it, thought i did rather well with a 13 second time to take down all 4. i'll self-profess to not being a particularly good marksman although i do pride myself on making sure my hardware is well dialled in.

however what i found interesting was the other competitors, one in particular who was running with a very snappy high-speed m4 managed to expend a hell of a lot of plastic (well over 100 rounds total) and finished in over 40 seconds. watching his shots they were all flying high- the sign of an over-set hop unit although the dispersion showed it was evidently a decent enough gat. what surprised me was that instead of watching where his rounds were going and compensating he just kept firing and firing.

now you might argue that perhaps i'm a better marksman than i think i am, or that perhaps my obsession with mechanical accuracy meant i had equipment advantage, however that's easily countered by pointing out the winner was a kid running what appeared to be an unmodified arp556.

so this was a bit of fun but it did make me think that perhaps there's a lot more folk out there than i suspected who think their shots are going somewhere different to the reality, and maybe many more of those crys of anguish could be suppressed simply by people putting some effort into knowing their equipment and paying attention to their shots as they fly downrange.

    Yes they do 😁

Little bit of fettling required to get them on, and they dont fit with the right hand safety.  I removed mine rather than cut the grips and I've ordered the single safety to fit at some point. Also worth noting that grips for models with the lanyard pin are different to ones without. Helstom rooted through thier grips for me to find 2 sets with the correct lanyard cutout. Happy with the look, prefer them to the late ones it comes with. Now on to trades !

If it's not clearly rated I wouldn't bother going about buying/using them in the first place (a personal opinion, but one I would presume many would agree with).

Anyways that sentiment aside, if they are/were fit for purpose - after shooting them the first time you may have created an underlying weakness which has caused them to crack on receiving further hits. If any eye pro you use has suffered damage to the extent it has caused an indentation that large, a crack, or something similar it's at that point I'd recommend replacing lenses. It has been used up to its maximum tolerance and is likely no longer safe and I'm making a presumption here that the maximum tolerance for off brand eye pro is a sub 3 joule impact.
