  1. I think they are being tongue in cheek here - neighbours have made a silly complaint which they are gently mocking.
  2. not sure why but i had to urge to buy an SSG10 A3 bundle, an SSR15 basic bundle, and a SSP1 basic bundle. also picked up a £130 helmet/face protection combo from facebook
  3. I must admit I am completely stumped. If you hold an ak mag against your chest, with the top of the mag just below your nipples, would the bottom of the mag interfere with your waistline? The SADF chest rig for example is maybe 2cm higher than an AK magazine. edit: my boring suggestion is that you stick with the TMR cause you know it works for you, have a fanny pack sitting below the shooters belt for smaller items like your mobile and speedloaders or whatever and a backpack of whatever size you need to carry the other larger items.
  4. I was gonna say that using a mouth guard for the upper teeth is just about better than nothing... then i remembered actually using mouth guards and ya know what im not sure it is!!! im far from an expert but i just don't think having both upper and lower mouth guards is viable for many activities, including airsoft. I note that that lower teeth guards seem to be marketed for dental reasons rather then sports/activity reasons. semi related but i have just got a "venom v2" from here: https://www.nb-tactical.de/ it is not quite as versatile as the delta mike snoods you can get, as you need to have a balaclava for it to work. however it is by far the most comfy (so far!) and low profile tooth protection I have had for airsoft - but i have yet to skirmish with it so take this with a pinch of salt
  5. G&P Stoner 63 with chopped barrel and stock, rails and vfg bolted on acetech predator tracer perst 4 laser vortex crossfire 2 UT style high mount
  6. I'm not sure these problems are completely unrelated to brexit. I haven't really gone through the existing thread but I can't help but think that the brexit associated changes has messed up a lot of things. I only say this is I placed an order from Evike and it has sailed through - sort of. Was supposed to arrive on Thursday This got pushed back with the "try again tommorow message" Friday it updated saying it required some documents. I put a call in and whilst they couldn't answer, it seemed pretty obvious from prior experience that I had to complete and send a firearms declaration form Emailed a lady (again from prior experience) in the brokerage team my completed RIF form. got an out of office reply, but by this morning she had sent the form to the right people, a few hours later I got the email saying I need to pay charges And now i wait short version is: pretty easy and straight forward stuff but can't help but feel if it had been coming from Europe via UPS it would be a different story. That being said, I ordered something from a private seller in germany and it arrived in less than 1 working week so ymmv thanks
  7. genuine question - i quite want to hpa an lmg for the sake of longevity. i don't want to upset anyone (as a rule of thumb anyway, i do reserve the right!) and its only worth having a ROF as fast as the boxmag can feed after all. would you be ok with that? i do agree 100% that the single shot rule is counter productive though thanks
  8. Classic Army do a G3K though i've no idea how accurate it is to real deal or whatever. Decent enough discount too: http://classicarmyshop.com/special/ca-a4-short-barrel-cacc005.html
  9. Hi - do you know what IRR is? I've got myself in a muddle. I have feeling that rather than meaning "resistant" (which is a common assumption and one I made too) it actually means reflective - to better match the reflectivity of foliage. This is an interesting (well, depends on what you find interesting!) of UFPRO trousers. Note that the elastic sections and kneepads seem to "glow" - but imo it matches the pallate of the IIT image / background terrain https://www.instagram.com/p/CKbiOHAn3WG/ Point taken about field craft and I appreciate this may be more more theory than practice..but i am a total and utter nerd and won't apologise! Cheers
  10. does anyone use the viper buckle up chest rig + flat pack combo? if so pls pm me as I have a few questions thanks!!!

  11. can't find it for the life of me but yeah you need to cut a crescent shape on the underside of the m203 tube for it to fit in / ... fit out
  12. IRR treatment absolutely makes a difference. Pictured in the vid below is some truspec tigerstripe and some russian ss-leto. admittedly none of these are marketed as IRR resistant but compare it to the chinese made gear below. The difference is much more apparent with the IR illuminator turned on, though you can still notice the difference with it off. I've ordered some IRR spray paint so I will compare later. Its harder to find stuff specifically marketed as IRR treated. I was specifically looking at combat shirts as I am currently combat shirt-less. I was looking at OPS/Ur-tactical ones which have milspec sleeves which should be IRR treated. However I doubt the torso portion is - i note this is the same with the british army ubacs too. as for washing i have no idea at all but a friend in the army says this: "Use a stiff brush and no cleaning products, bit of mud is "ally" But serious don't know what would preserve IRR - normally they're good for "100 washes" and you have to exchange the kit. (Which never happens)" WhatsApp Video 2021-03-09 at 09.47.09.mp4
  13. Just imo but there is no need for ukara when importing parts. I think its best that if you dont need to insert ukara, you shouldnt -somewhat concerned they will still demanding ukara where its not needed. Fwiw: been there done that got the t shirt
  14. super nerdy but i disagree. I don't consider myself to have a "dominant" side, i just have a weaker side. for airsoft situational stuff like cover and positioning should dictate what side you fire from, and i like to have my kit and gun set up so i can switch hands easily, for example i do my best to have my kit set up like a mirror image - i want to be able to reload and use grenades with my "weak side" as easily as i can, and this also applies attachments on the gun like light and lasers, which should be operated ambidextrously. say for example having a pressure switch mounted at the 9 o'clock position is very easy to access when holding the gun on the right hand side, but once you switch to the left hand side it is very awkward. mounting them at 12 allows me to use either left or right hand basically just as easily and i say basically just as easy as whilst I am right handed, its not a matter of ergonomics or bio-mechanics.
  15. I think fitness is worth considering here. Lower back pain is no fun, and whilst I don't think a counterweight is dead weight, i think if it were to get worse the solutions of 1) take weight off your front 2) put weight on your back will only take you so far. Firm no offence intended here but if there is added weight on the front of your torso which isn't kit related, it may be worth investigating. Likewise some exercises for the "core" and pretty much the entire back would be good, i think. as ever there is the proviso that you don't want to over do it as exercise can absolutely make it worse. easy to say exercising for airsoft is "try hard" but i genuinely can't think of a better reason to exercise than making the things you enjoy easier and more comfortable as you get older (and we all are so nothing personal) edit: not completely convinced belt kits are just factually better, perhaps for a multi day event where the walking vastly outweighs the shooting. for your average shoot em skirmish id rather have nothing around my hips at all just for the sake of mobility and comfort.
  16. Sorry but it is far from the next best thing to Crye! If it comes as a surprise that it is made in China it's because WAS gear is a bit overhyped. Its good stuff, don't get me wrong, but its certainly not "bomb proof" as I like to bore people with, the only bit of tactical nylon i've actually managed to break was a WAS pouch. I put it on par with other chinese brands be it TMC or flyye or whatever, (but not like 8fields or w/e). Some WAS stuff is well priced - some of their stuff seems to have a massive mark up. I'd buy WAS stuff again sure but you can do cheaper, you can do better, and for some stuff you can do both... just imo.
  17. I know someone else who was accused of being racist:
  18. Leicester has been on perma-lockdown for ages, i doubt people "dancing outside" is the biggest issue ! No the point is you chose an obvious example of people breaking the rules which has subsequently been proven to have had a minute (if at all) impact on anything. That article is from a few days ago so I'm not quite sure I understand your last point, apologies. Once again I'm not saying that people haven't broken the rules, but I'm saying that all things considered, most people haven't, and the adherence has been surprisingly good. "behavioural fatigue" was something discussed fairly often early on but hasn't really come to pass, substantially anyway. I think we should give ourselves a big pat on the back. peace all!
  19. Couldn't care less about personal anecdotes. I've seen people break rules of course, but i'm not sure how useful this blame game is, nor is turning molehills into mountains by Excellent example of media hysteria and "hate they neighbour" https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/feb/19/how-the-beach-super-spreader-myth-can-inform-uks-future-covid-response I don't care if you think people are being dicks. I'm interested in proper solutions and the obvious solution is increasing sickpay and other measures of (mostly financial) support. I personally don't have the stomach to criticise people when I've been working from home no dramas no loss of income etc. People need support to follow the rules. There is the carrot and there is the stick and I think here the carrot is much more helpful. "When you allow students to go back to universities, they WILL go to the bar, they WILL get pissed and the rules of social distancing WILL go out the window. Is that the governments fault? No." The simple answer here to is to suggest, given this, that students should not of returned to university. I'm happy to accept evidence and change my mind, this is not a matter of faith to me, it is just my opinion. But all you have provided is anecdotes which is obvious to anyone. Have people broken the rules? Of course! Have, given everything, the public "behaved" quite well - yes. Not to sound silly but we are talking about "the public" as in, the entire population! Evidently personal responsibility comes into play but to say this is purely a matter of individual responsibility is nonsensical. The only reason lockdowns are effective is that people follow the rules.
  20. I'm not debating the effectiveness of lockdowns. I am taking issue with your claim that "the general public can't bloody behave themselves." which I still think you have failed to substanitate. - "Low sick pay however is only a factor if you're sick and to be quite frank, if you're sick with COVID and you choose to go to work and mix with others then you're an arse (regardless of income)." No it is a factor if you have to stop working, whether or not you are sick. I disagree that people are an arse, regardless of income - some people quite simply need to work for them and thier families to survive. Some people quite simply cannot afford to not work, and calling them an arse - and not the government who could quite easily support them better, is counterproductive, not to mention the bitter taste it leaves. -"but the rate of increases in cases when restrictions have been lifted demonstrate that when allowed to mix, people spread the virus" if people are allowed to mix, then this is not a matter of them behaving themselves. "If you look at the figures in Sept/Oct in the South West for example, the hotspots were in University towns when students were told to go back. That is not a coincidence." - Told to go back is doing heavy lifting here. A spike in cases arising from this is not their fault
  21. That is an exception and also a massive generalisation for the people of Liverpool. Anything actually worth reading (not opinions, no offence) shows public adherence has been very good. I wouldn't rule it out, of course, but again I would suggest that factors like poor sick pay is much more of a factor then a pub blow out to the point the latter becomes basically insignificant. Sorry to say but you haven't offered me anything substantial to which I would change my opinion. Edit: also, sorry to say again and of course nothing personal but doesn't the idea of blaming liverpudlians, not the (conservative) government seem a bit... classic?
  22. sorry but i think this is very unfair. I think the general public have for the most part gone above and beyond. Where there have been issues is due largely in part to low levels of sick pay, which is 100% the fault of the government. Stephen Reicher has discussed this in more detail. Also note the massive spike in cases come September which to my amateur eyes seems attributable to a degree of seasonality, but in any case its hard to attribute that to the public's behaviour. It may not always be appropriate to apportion blame but if you do come on the side of blaming the public, not those with power who are making decisions, it is worth considering why. edit: Shamal I think it is probably a good idea for you to take the vaccine, as if there is a sufficient "critical mass" of vaccine refuseniks then this could impact on the overall effectiveness. But you are quite right to point out the discrepancy between holding the opinions of "vaccines don't do anything for transmission" and "we should have vaccine passports". But I would also like to add that if you say you are not a vaccine sceptic, but would decline to take the vaccine.. that does seem like vaccine scepticism, even if you say it isn't. Taking a vaccine for the sake of public health is not the same as not drinking at all so as to reduce your individual "burden" on the health care system, but is more similar to just not drinking when you have to drive, I think.
