A TM doesn't need Propane it will run fine on low power gas. A TM will run on propane you will just shorten it's life expectancy. my team mate runs a 5-7 on propylene he just have to replace them every 18 months or so. I think he is on number 9.

The five seven is made out of cheese though... 😂

How does it shoot and handle compared to a next gen recoil?

Well my MK18 NGRS has had pretty much all the stock internals replaced with all the cliche gucci parts that everyone says you need... (believe me you don't)

Compared to the single tiny piece of brass that's been fitted to my MWS!

Don't get me wrong the NGRS performs excellently and has served me very well. I bought it to get a little more 'realism' over my old VFC 416A5, features like 'recoil' and a functional bolt catch really was the icing on the cake for a platform I knew well. (AEG's)

But comparing it to an MWS it might as well be another electric sewing machine!

The recoil is negligible when compared with a GBBR and functions like the bolt catch are nowhere near as tactile on the MWS!

Using the MWS is such a satisfying experience, I knew it would as my TM MP7 GBB was always grin inducing!

I've only plinked with mine so far, but using it for a game next Sunday I cannot wait.

My NGRS won't be going anywhere as it's a very good rifle, but I can already tell that it will be spending most of it's life inside a Pelicase... 😂

Just waiting for a couple more bits to arrive for the MWS in question and I'll take some photos for you lovely lot! 😁

  3. I fitted the brass nub yesterday and set the hop for 0.32g's and it shoots like a dream!

I'm using Geoff's Bio's which I know people have had problems with, but seem to work very well in mine with several mags feeding flawlessly!

Never had any issues with the same brand in my TM GBB MP7 either.

I can't belive how well these things shoot, both the range and the consistency is very impressive.

The only internal mod I've done like I said is the brass nub. Will look into a prometheus barrel at a later date just to boost the FPS a little...

  4. Lazy TM...

So just a MWS body with another Madbull MK18 rail. They're a little late to the party as there's plenty of MWS owners who've already built their own MK18!

Don't get me wrong I love a MK18, but would of loved for something else to have been given the GBBR treatment.

That bloke's haircut is something else though! 😂

  5. Tried fitting the Magpul extended mag release yesterday to no avail...

The threads on the TM catch are obviously different, and wouldn't go on.

I'm pretty sure I have seen photos of guys with these fitted however. Is it a case of using a genuine mag release catch?

Got a ginger one of these spare if anybody needs one? - ('nade not included.)IMG_20200712_095335.thumb.jpg.089a1d4a641ac5db310087fa1936c2a6.jpg

    Looks awesome mate!

My own 9.3" URGI is nearly complete albeit an all black version.

Got a stack of parts to fit onto my CQBR, just waiting on the HAO Industries URGI rail which should be arriving this week...

Bar a few accessories etc it's nearly there!

Will post up some photos once the rail has been fitted. 👍

It sounds like the tolerance on the mag release where it it holds the mag in as a bit too tight... as to whether you want to sand it down a little is up to you. although I can't be sure without seeing it in person.

    I think your right bud,

I had another little play on my lunch break today at work, and the mag will seat perfectly if you give it a bloody firm push when its inserted, and again it will release just fine when the mag is pulled slighy towards yourself when the release button is pressed.

I can only put it down to very tight tolerances, and even after a few mag changes today its already improved dramatically.

I'm sure with time and a few games under its belt it will loosen up a little! 👍

  8. Managed to get down to some private land on the farm where I work and have a little play with the MWS yesterday.

I'm blown away by the stock performance with 0.28's! Will eventually fit the brass nub and see what its like with heavier ammo soon.

However I have got a little issue with it...

The mag release with no mag inserted operates freely just like any other M4 rif I have used.

Weirdly though when a mag is inserted the locking tab/bar on the opposite side of the mag release button doesn't fully engage when a mag is inserted, you can get two shots off before the mag drops down and doesent engage.

You have to push it into the receiver to lock the mag in place, and its pretty stiff. Then to release the mag the button itself is also very stiff to press, would he very tricky to do in the middle of a game!

    Any ideas?

Not sure where to start and I don't want to make anything worse!

  9. This is my German barge!

Perfect for lugging pelicase's and all my gear to game sites, and bloody comfortable on the drive back at the end of the day. 👍

It's the most sensible car I've ever bought and without a doubt one of the best.

Moving on a tad.... Silverback HTI.... holy crap!. Have you seen the one for sale on prefred? It's like £1K... I had no idea a base model costs like £899!. I mean that's a lot of dosh for any gun (except a Systema PTW)!!

Is it like the ultimate sniper or what?

    https://prefired.co.uk/ads/silverback-hti-fully-upgraded-with-edgi/

I can't stand adverts with just one photo. I will always try and upload a few to give a good idea of the condition of whatever I'm I'm selling.

    Let alone a gun for 1k... 😂

Call me cynical, but when buying gats s/h I've stayed away from the likes of prefired etc, much preferring the forums such as this one, feedback systems, trading history etc all seems reassuring easy to find compared to pure selling sites, even the fact that if you have ANY concerns it's piss easy to contact other members who they've dealt with to get the skinny on them.

am I the only one that sees it this way ?

Nope I'm exactly the same bud.

This forum has a great community, and I have the good fortune of only receiving a great experience from either buying or selling to members here.

personally I've never bothered. I just top up my mags with a squirt nuprol 2.0 after the games finished just to keep the seals in good nick. (for some reason it's a fantastic maintenance gas 😅)

the lube free nature of the propane is also part of the reason I use it as it improves consistency/doesn't coat your hop rubber in silicon quite as badly.

14 minutes ago, Wild Weasel said:

The ai oil pump turns your can of "top gas" (read propane) into green gas by forcing a very lightweight silicone oil into the can under pressure.

I've only been doing the gbbr thing for a year now but from what I've read here and on other sites that can inadvertently be a bad thing. (Feel free to jump in and correct me if I'm wrong here folks) A few people myself included run their mags dry i.e. propane only - not green gas to prevent silicone contamination of the hop up bucking and to aid accuracy.

I tend to take my mags apart depending on how much hammer they get every now and again and use that silicone ai oil to lube the seals directly by just putting a few drops into the fill valve hole after taking the base off, spring and follower after brushing out where the bb's reside with a bore brush.

After use maintenance is as per wolf's guide on pg 1-3 of this feed. I do tend to strip the bolt down occasionally and clean and lube the seals in there with one or two drops of tippman silicone oil also to help keep things consistent as it can get a bit black in there after a bit.

    Thanks for the advice guys!

I managed to find an ebay seller with the Airsoft Innovations adapter in stock (plastic version)

Based in Israel of all places! 😂 I've ordered two incase I have any issues.

  13. 1 hour ago, Wild Weasel said:

Hi, I think most people would agree the Airsoft innovations polymer-nozzled adapter is the best - I bought mine from Firesupport.co.uk but I've just checked and found that they are out of stock though.

I believe they are up to version 5 which is a blue one over the older tan which folks have used for years without a problem but the main point to note is the polymer nozzles not the strengthened metal nozzle is best.

I've managed to find the older tan one on ebay alongside the 'high strength' steel version.

They also sell an 'oil pump' that allows you to lubricate the whole propane bottle in one go?

I assume that's not worth it and more of a gimmick? I guess you can lubricate the mags as you go instead?

  14. I'm intending on using propane with my MWS, and I've seen that the Coleman bottles seem to be pretty popular from Go Outdoors.

I just wanted to know what propane adaptors use or reccomend? There seems to be plenty of generic ones on ebay etc but I didn't want to waste my money on something poorly made!

Firesupport have type 89 mags in stock

Cheers bud, I've seen those but although they physically work. They're not 'legit' which is important to me.

However if it's of any interest to anyone, I spoke to Camoraids and they have 50+ mags arriving in the next 3 weeks.

You can preorder to insure your allocated some from that stock.

    I promptly ordered 5! 👍

I can feel the pressure rising, lot of weight on my shoulders...I'll probably get kicked off this forum if they don't deliver within a week 😅

I just got an email from Rainbow8...

Looks like my mags will be going on a little cruise and will arrive in the UK via sea mail... 😂

I'd imagine that's going to take a month at a minimum!

Ah well, it is what it is!

My mws isn't going to get here for a couple of weeks anyway, and my MK16 rail is on back order with HAO so I'm in no rush.

Ordered a SixG super nub from Dave yesterday also. 👍

Currently on page 50 of this thread on my laptop taking notes as I go!

EDIT: decided to cancel my order with Rainbow8 after thinking on it... will just have to wait until UK suppliers get stock,  or Air mail is back in operation.

And as if by magic Fire Support just got some in

    I've taken a chance/risk and ordered 5 from Rainbow8!

Hopefully they'll arrive sometime this year... 😂
