@Robert James - I'm simply trying to highlight various points of consideration in your assessment. You're entitled to your opinion and I've not made any claims to contradict your right to an opinion. The simple fact is that even with the various factors you have mentioned the sensation of stepping onto a gun, especially a rifle, will feel very different to stepping on anything else onsite. Further to this I'd like to reiterate my point concerning tactile feedback, the sensations transmitted by stepping onto the gun will feel dramatically different and the guy hardly seems to be in a hurry to step off it. In fact the chap in question was all too happy to place his other foot on it with little to no hesitation and in such a manner that he was perfectly stable on the gun. There's also a hell of a difference between the sounds produced by branches, roots and other naturally occurring materials when compared to the sounds the gun produces (there's a distinction between creaking through stress and the crack of twigs and branches).

I appreciate that you're trying to provide an alternative theory but as @Rogerborg rightly said, the odds just don't stack  up and yes, this  is merely public opinion which is by no means infallible.

This is merely a discussion and if points made sway your opinion then surely there is no harm in this, just as there would be no harm should your argument sway others. Opinions should be based on reasoning, logic and where possible facts. Admittedly in this situation we don't have the whole picture so it is a case of balancing the information available with known factors.

If you can't accept people voicing arguments and lines of reason which may challenge your opinion then it might be best to step away from the conversation. I realise this may sound a bit controversial but this is simply a discussion which has been respectful and without confrontation. Should a discussion descend to a point where it enters the realm of personal attacks, bear baiting or bullying tactics to challenge someone's opinion then it becomes an issue but up until then point it is just normal social discourse.

On the balance of probability, yes.  This is the court of public opinion, not the International Criminal Court.

Even if we assume that he stood on it accidentally, I don't buy for a second that he could have been unaware of it.

If I stood on someone's gun accidentally, I'd find them, let them know, and offer to fix it or have it fixed if it was damaged.

    Wouldn't you?

@Lozart Beat me to it, I had a brief chin way with him over YouTube and he said much the same about the sling loop placements causing issue.

Admittedly, much like yourselves, I'd have stood it up somewhere a bit safer but who is to say that the culprit wouldn't have sought to do damage given any opportunity. I know it sounds pessimistic and it is certainly in realms of speculation but some people are just malicious.

@FreeFrag.UK I personal consider LCT and E&L on the same tier in regard to my view on the airsoft AK pantheon,  so I would compare the two as they are both are very similar, in regards to manufacture, materials used and pricing.  However after the Nuprol price tax on LCT AK's, E&L for me are taking a lead, you just get more bang for your buck currently, especial compared to the price of the LCT in the AD you linked.  Although UK Shop pricing on E&L AK's is steep Gunfire are competitively priced .

Now if the seller decided to adjust the price inline with your estimation of £265.00 all in then I would say that fair a second hand market price, but at  £380,  I would just buy the brand new E&L and cyma mags, genuine AK slings are cheap and easy to find.

I'm of the inclination to say that this is worthy of a mention here.

The LCT AK-74M can readily be found for £299 brand new (possibly a bit less with some shopping around). The LCT magwell spacer is typically £19 (still say these should come standard but it's a futile argument with LCT) and genuine LCT mag's are readily available for approximately £11 a piece. CYMA magazines tend to be similar in the UK but can be found far cheaper elsewhere. Overall I estimate the gun to be worth around: £265.00 all in (calculated at about 65% retail using UK prices).

I'll have to give some concession to the launcher although I will say these used to sell for around £85 brand new in the UK. Despite the owner insisting they're discontinued, they're not but they are very hard to find. For the sake easiest comparison and easiest to find I'll compare it to the King Arms GP-30 which can be found for around £130.00. I'd be of the inclination to estimate the value of the GP-25 in this area given its rarity. Thoughts?

I'd say the 6SH117 Ratnik Vest isn't too far off the going rate for it from a retailer by the time you're done with all your import fees and postage. I suspect it can probably be found a bit cheaper with some perseverance.

To sell it all as a bundle I suspect it would probably need to come down to around £550.00 but I could be wrong and there's every chance I'm being a little harsh in my valuation for the AK-74M and the launcher.

Definitely agree with @Rogerborg on this one. It's best to leave it for the site to deal with and avoid turning this into another piece of clickbait.

On a side note, while they are a hindrance at times, I would strongly recommend that your friend invests in a sling for his M14 @Lozart so that he can keep it with him under more conditions. I'd also advise standing it up against stuff where it is unlikely to fall over so that it is less likely to be kicked/trodden on. While I don't think it is the case in this instance, a lot of face protection limits the player's field of vision more than people realise and as such their awareness drops massively.

There will always be occasions where you'll want to put down a piece of kit but sadly there are a lot of people in this world who are malicious simply for the sake of it.

I suspect that it would be worth your friends time and/or money to have his M14 broken down, inspected and serviced. Even if it is just for peace of mind.

Admittedly at first glance I was undecided on whether or not it was intentional but after I watched it again (prior to my initial post) I came to the conclusion that the most likely scenario was that it was deliberate. The biggest tell tale is the way he steps onto the rifle, it's very deliberate. His pace also slows significantly to allow for his initial step onto the rifle and the almost immediate placement of his second. Finally, you need to consider that the feel of a rifle underfoot will be significantly different to the ground he's been walking on (this ignores the sound aspect of weight being applied).

Even if we were to work on a train of thought of applying the benefit of the doubt, the player failed to report it and as highlighted elsewhere he can be heard laughing/chuckling after stepping on it. While you could always argue that he could be one of the many who would scarper from the area (which as far as we can tell, he didn't) to avoid a potential invoice and/or confrontation, it is still beyond poor form in the event of an accident.

Personally, I just think there's too much to give sufficient weight to any argument of it being an accident. Fingers crossed he is identified and here's hoping that an appropriate response is undertaken by the site in question.

He lifts his foot and carefully places it right on the gun.  Maybe he has super-sonic sonar radar equipped boots.

That.  One foot could be accidental.  Both is enemy action.

The ground is brown rather than green and it looks like the fella detoured specifically to stand on it.

Plus the foot placement is too careful.

i think we have a winner for the cardinal airsoft sin right there....

i must admit, in general at least, there seems to be much much less of this sort of thing (including safe zoen theivery etc) in airsoft than i'd have expected. although i'm still one of those everything is on me or locked in the car types of players.

i sincerely hope that fella finds his supply of sites extinguished and your mates gun is ok, although it seems to have taken the abuse rather well i'd still suggest getting it looked at.

The rogue has been identified and the issue is with the site.  I'm not surprised to note that this seems to have been missed in the middle of the rage-fest.

At this point, it's clickbait.  There is nothing constructive to be gained from promoting it.

If the ID was wrong or site doesn't deal with it, that's a different matter.

Er, the video says that the cuntspangle has already been identified and the site is aware of it.

If it's a positive ID, I'd be wanting that passed around to every other site in the galaxy, although hopefully Dogtag will take care of that too.

Firstly I would like to point out that your post reads like a complaint email to us, rather than a polite request for advice. Secondly as pointed out above you haven't provided enough details.

I used to work for DHL (the freight forwarding side, not courier) and it always used to amaze me that customers would constantly moan at us about decisions and delays made by the local customs authority.

I ordered a drum magazine from evike and in addition to the massive delay in it arriving in the country, it took over a month to even be looked at by customs.

Been working on my unterscharführer 4/Pz.Gren.Rgt.19 kit for Normandy and Arnhem. Just need to buy a wool tunic for the kit now. Love how effective erbsenmuster is especially with a mosquito net on you can pretty much vanish most times of the year anywhere in the UK.
