  1. not just recoils, any tm will outrange anything at 0.8j. except the vsr10, those need stronger springs apparently.
  2. y'know now you've made me think about it i'm not sure that's such a simple question to answer, at least in the intermediate case you're describing where either config is valid (ie you're not driving it fast enough where short stroking is necessary to avoid pme and there's enough volume overhead for that not to be an issue). there's arguments to be made both directions. normally for me at least the stroke tends to be dictated by the barrel length (dictated by however long the gun is) and volume requirements, but then i tend to lean towards higher ratio gears and torquey motors with a boatload of precocking for snappy semiauto and not really giving a stuff about rate of fire unless it's stupidly low (ie i'm happy with 15-20 rps).
  3. we have an appraisals section for checking price: https://airsoft-forums.uk/forum/151-appraisals/ and a sales section for actually selling: https://airsoft-forums.uk/classifieds/ as @EDcase mentions there's a post limit for some areas of the classifieds now, although i don't know what areas have limitations, or what those limitations are.
  4. must say i'm inclined to agree. i'd even put money on it, just not as much money as Guinness charges, which is kinda the point with records like this.
  5. am i the only one thinking that's heavy looking paper for a sub 1j bb to be penetrating at that range..... edit: some of the excel equivalent of back of a fag packet calculations suggest for a 0.48g bb we're talking ~0.07j of energy at 81m (assuming still air of ρ=1.225kg/m³ and constant drag coefficient of 0.45 for laminar flow (which iirc i remember checking and apparently it is for our energy levels))
  6. this is the kind of man who hears the phrase "you can't aim for shit when hip firing" and instead of cowering in the corner like a wuss instead stands tall and bellows at the top of his lungs "challenge accepted"
  7. never used an m14 with an optic, it that at the level of needing to maintain a beard just to tell where the stock is?
  8. effort and cost for sure, its the sad truth that above a certain threshold of cost guns will gather a lot of attention and interest until folk hear the price tag. especially when it comes to the RS zenitco stuff as folk who want that also want to buy exactly the setup they like, kinda like custom paint in a way. hopefully it doesn't take too long to find the buyer with the right combination of aesthetic preference, cashmoney, and lack of current gun.
  9. i'd say typical for a jazzed up krink, but a jazzed up krink in itself is the niche. yep, folk are too used to their block-19's and ar builds, not used to the idea of having to fettle parts to fit. does seem fair for a build of that caliber, the only problem is the overlap between people that want that kind of spec and people who already have guns of that spec. i'm almost tempted to put it in macks now just to spite you
  10. as you identify selling as a single unit is going to be tricky. problem with this sort of thing is folk who'd otherwise be interested in that sort of thing will likely have built/commissioned their own (to their particular taste). please do list it as a one-er though so my poor-spec repro zenit build looks cheaper when i get around to listing it
  11. i dunno, in my experience useless in airsoft standards means unable to hit a barn from inside aforementioned barn.
  12. Whats bore offset and cheek weld mean? Asking for a freind.....
  13. the warhead motors are defo a step up, especially for semiauto. bit delicate with the contacts but the pickup speed is defo noticable.
  14. look guys, we gotta accept that airsoft is a sport that attracts folks from various ages and backgrounds, it should be no surprise that forums surrounding it will be no exception. that's inevitably going to lead to dealing with folks with whom you have some fundamental philosophical disagreement with whether that separation be age, politics, religion or whatever. however i do think that alex has a point that certain things are best left unsaid on a public forum, although not for the same reasons. one of the things i've always loved about this forum compared to many is how rarely debates of this sort arise, either because they're not talked about or because folks here realize the truth that arguing with someone on an internet forum isn't going to get them to change to any great degree. on the flip side, shamal and druid have a point that if you support free speech as an ideal then you have to accept that also means accepting others should be allowed to voice opinions that don't sit well with you. I realize that it's an easy trap to fall into, hell i remember the vaccine debate suckered me in good and proper, but looking at the long term you can choose to either hold the grudge and end up having constant little spats (until the forum suffers for it), or accept the inevitability that nothing's going to change the other party's mind and you're better off forgetting it and focusing on the real issues that affect us all. like kickingmustang and speedsofters and hpa users because for sure we ain't gonna be solving a problem as complex as racism from behind a keyboard.
  15. Hey guys whats with all the notifications....
  16. and so my fictional character turns real also he missed a hell of an opportunity to cash in on the borderlands reference..... sadly i'm afraid that reference went over my head
  17. careful man, next thing you'll be asking why the first thing that's "the done thing" with a tm sniper rifle is to up the power when everyone knows tm's outrange everything ootb.
  18. absolutely this. anyone who gets paid to fix airsoft gnu's calls themselves an airsoft tech, regardless of their qualifications. if you're going to insist that their work adds value then you need to name drop so their reputation can do it for them. otherwise a buyer must only assume that the work was done by billybob who took up airsoft teching after failing his degree in surfing and has only been doing it for a month. and fully upgraded is a meaningless term, has it had literally every part replaced? has everything that could improve performance been done? the answer is no, because nobody replaces every single part and performance is such a wide term that to optimize a build in one aspect precludes optimization elsewhere.
  19. you need to be using a tool like a lathe to finish the end of the barrel. you'd be as well buying a new, shorter, inner barrel rather than trying to cut.
  20. the roughly is worth putting a number to, fps variation is a good way of checking the quality of the air seal. eg if you're getting all your shots in a sub 5fps window then you know it's decent enough (unless your a perfectionist in which case reduce that window as required) this can be seen when shooting in vertical dispersion- shots going high/low, you'll know from playing whether or not this is a big enough issue to affect you. as a general rule it's recommended not to go undertaking any major internal work without a backup gun, as someone who didn't heed that advice i can assure you the walk of shame with a broken pew gets old the tenth time you've done it.
