  1. Kinda situational really, depends how far back the spawn is, how realistic the enemy advancing is etc. These days i try to focus more on not getting hit than on hitting other people, so i normally do take the full walk (and generally try a different direction/angle) Ofc the solution is fall back games without fixed respawns, although you still get folks with very short legs who can do 30 paces in about 5m
  2. a fair point, only really works if you're being honest and giving a realistic interpretation of how long it should take to get back into the action. ofc airsoft is filled with things that only really work if you're being honest.....
  3. can we take a moment to appreciate the position of that foregrip?
  4. as long as from the enemy's perspective you walk out of their sight and don't come back for a realistic amount of time i don't see the issue.
  5. so, ummm

    this is a thing:

the ak isn't as unweildy as you'd think as long as you're not filling the whole front end with aluminium rails.....

I know that they aren't unweildy ;) My 74u is actually pretty balanced despite being made of granite or something.

It's just that adding 800 grams right on the tip would make it really unbalanced.

it's not so bad, had a pretty heavy can on my e&l 74u.

this is going to be a situational thing though, for night games etc.

although granted it does make a stronger argument for getting a 105 over a 74m :P

  6. same, i mean when you're selling secondhand stuff you're gonna be taking such a loss anyway from depreciation. same with paypal fees, end of the day it's the price you pay for convenience of being able to safely accept money and not worth arguing over. skipping a days shooting is going to save you more money than you're gonna lose in postage+fee's most of the time.
  7. agreed, both buying and selling it's easier to just give a straight posted price. only time i can see postage being a big enough issue to deal with separately is if you're posting international which isn't a massive issue given most of our members are uk based.
  8. not really an issue with the pricing here given all the stuff that comes with it, but a dsg on a barrel that length? edit: forget that, looky what i just found: even if it's a recoil model that's a tad steep given the info provided.....
  9. why did i decide to try refinishing the makarov with aluminium black, soooooo much sanding......

  10. In theory yes, additionally it'll lose energy slightly faster than an equivalent 6mm projectile so at the same range it'll also have less energy to be transferring over that larger area. Of course if its sub 1j at the muzzle then frankly such an argument is pointless anyway because it aint gonna be layin down that much hurt even point blank.
  11. honestly so many still don't. you'll get places will kick you off for being 1fps over with the hop turned off but don't bother chrono'ing pistols or care about joule creep. end of the day what matters is that the rounds your sending downrange in-game are within the specified energy limit.
  12. all you need is the weight of ammo. the diameter is irrelevant for muzzle energy calculations, indeed it only comes into play if you're trying to work out things like drag/magnus lift but that's well beyond the scope of what a site needs to do. it isn't all that hard to take X energy and print out a strip for all the common bb weights showing the appropriate fps, sites are just too wedded to the whole chrono'ing on .2's thing.
  13. Agreed, cant see any reason why 8mm would be banned. Unskirmishable due to rarity of guns that use it and ammo to fire yes, but not any other reason.
  14. Fair point, i mean if i coulda got new prices.......
  15. maybe the nozzle? tends to be one of the few things i tend to replace on cyma/jg boxes.
  16. if it shoots straight no point worrying what the barrel is meant to be. stock wobble you can try a thin strip of rubber glued under the catch so that when locked it's wedging the stock into the catch.
  17. eh, by the time you worked it all out and did the usual 60% it wasnt far off. such a niche gun i'm surprised it sold at all
  18. Yeah, always worth checking you've got decent tooth engagement. The other fun one is the idler not being true, always notice a little wobble in them. As for noise, my current theory is the metal of cheaper boxes seems to be better at dampening or something, only way i can explain how a jg box seems to sound smooth as silk even with minimal fucks given to shimming.
  19. Ive done it before a few times, although it can depend on the gears/box is the optimal pinion position suits with the rest of the build. Usually i try to shim the sector/idler as close to the left half of the box as i can get away with which reduces things like tappet plate interferance and gives you the most headroom for moving the bevel to where it's needed. Bearing in mind its not just the shimming, using a mis-matched pinion/bevel (eg an asg pinion onto an shs bevel) means you could get noise no matter what. Even using a fully matched set you could get backlash if the positions of the gears in the box dont match up right, one of the reasons why even a good set of gears could have issues in a certain box.
  20. Typical government sheeple, do you not realise they can track you down now you've registered it?
  21. i was meaning in general sympathising with folk who want to start up this hobby but can't afford to. of course in this case it's very much taking the mick, especially when his criteria are "a reliable gun that doesn't break", well get a cyma ak then.....
  22. Whilst i sympathise with the guy, there are countless people who want to take up a hobby but cant afford to, why should we help him specifically get his dream gun, especially if he's apparently too proud to run a budget gun? Theres asking for charity and theres taking the piss, this is very much the latter.
  23. *checks code* yep that's £90 off my windowshopping basket......
