  1. Bought more shit for my M4s, in a desperate attempt to fix the compression: 2x FPS Type D Cylinders (300-400mm barrels, I want to keep them overvolumed to push them heavies) 2x FPS bearing piston heads 2x FPS o-ring nozzles
  2. Today was a good day. Started off with my M4 acting up, so I ended up playing with the ak, which had some hop inconsistencies (the CU chamber is super sensitive and it was either overhop to the moon or not enough hop), but nonetheless it performed nicely. A bit on the heavy side (I'm weak) but the folding stock is really a godsend when moving through thick vegetation. Teamwork is building up, saw good communication and coordination between the teams We also have two new members, with a third one joining in two weeks, nice to see new, younger people getting into the sport Now that we are in lockdown for easter so I might get the chance to fix all these stupid technical issues.
  3. Maybe green, for that watermelon look
  4. Bought a Source bladder from them through eBay. Everything went as planned and it was even cheaper than buying locally, go figure 'twas the last thing I bought from the U.K. pre brexit.
  5. Okay.

Combat Union chamber properly fitted (I think), power went up slightly from 0.9 to 0.92/0.93.

In the meantime, the SHS nozzle in my M4 bought the farm, 0.05J and serious feeding issues, so switched back to the stock one (which is fucking useless as it doesn't seal for shit)..

One day I'll get good at teching, I promise.

  6. Don't worry, I update it semi-regularly, if something worth writing happens.
  7. He says he uses an AA adapter. he's in here tho @stipsniper
  8. I'll ask Stip If it's TM spec, then a regular TM adapter would do the trick
  9. How the fuck does DHL cover Moscow-NW Italy in 24h, but my postal service needs 4 days to go from here to Pisa (just shy of 80kms apart, 40 minutes drive)?

Aaand I have just destroyed my nozzle/tappet plate.

      EDIT: I didn't, thank Christ

New nozzle in, 101% air seal, reinstalled everything..

      90 fps on 0.2s....

Something is definitely not right, but I'm exhausted, will give it a look tomorrow.

  10. The routers are different but I found zero difference between my TM mag and my WE ones, so I guess you can use your TM mag without any issue. With that being said I do use my AA mags on my TM glock (for plinking at seagulls)
  11. If you run it on semi only, you don't need to worry about the hammer. The AA mag is crap, holds sod all gas even after multiple purges and has the same efficiency of a heavy ass full steel WE gun that runs on duster. The first upgrade I recommend is a maple leaf hop rubber and either a maple leaf i-key or hadron equivalent, along with decent mags (WE standards are bang on)
  12. compatibility with some aftermarket hammers for the most part.
  13. Bit the bullet and ordered a Combat Union AK hop chamber along with a sling for my 74u
  14. I ordered once from them. Fucking pain in the ass user interface and they seem to be dyslexic or something as half the words were spelt wrong That's typical of shady San Marino retailers (Titano, Il Semaforo and others), I can only recommend SoftairGames as I've ordered plenty of stuff from them and never had an issue..
  15. Starting to question the effectiveness of maple leaf rubbers...

It was already stuck when I got it, it's what you get for buying GunFire's stuff on discount I guess, but since it doesn't hinder performance, I'm fine with it :)

OH, I see what you mean, noticed the grub screw holding the clip.

Not an issue I reckon, I have to remove the gearbox anyway to work on the hop/barrel and I think I have plenty of space to work with.

Fair enough, its gonna be annoying to get together like that but once it's in you should be grand.

Protip- your gonna wanna grease the adjuster wheel if you ever want to actually set the hop.....

  16. 12:1 installed in the ak.

Shimming was literally the same, bar a different arrangement on the bevel...

Also, E&L gears and SHS/Rocket gears are awfully similar ;)

Now, Perun, hurry the fuck up and release your new V3 mosfet.

sounds like 11.1 is pushing her fast enough that the tappet hasn't the time to close and seal properly before the piston is firing.

might need a meatier tappet spring.

Was thinking of shaving the fin instead, but I might do it at a later date.

Eeeh, we'll see how she does tomorrow :)

    4. Sitting Duck

      Sitting Duck

Yeah likely tappet timing, full fin & a delayer

especially if a long delayer like this...

SHS Plastic Sector Clip - Airsoft Shop, Airsoft Guns, Sniper rifles, Airsoft pistols, parts and bbs by FireSupport

not as enormous as some sectors like JG one...

JG G36 V3 Problem!!! - Electric Guns - Airsoft Forums UK

now that is fucking silly, it is a one piece delayer

that has a pin cast into delayer that goes through

both halves of sector gear, so if you remove it

you need to drift in an old axle from another sector

to give you a pin to mount a more sensible clip...

      Delayer métal - Atelier Airsoft

You can just slip on a sleeve from old gears/sector

to add a whisper more retraction than delay as such

like what is only option on a DSG...

For the game, run it mostly on 7.4v perhaps

or 11.1v if running support for example

Wait until you need to open her up again

      then either:

      remove/change delayer

      or

      trim tappet

      or

lop a couple of loops off tappet spring

if you short stroke it at some point

then you you should trim off about 5mm from fin

      not insane stuff like DSG

but an inbetween full & DSG fin so to speak

TBH running it full stroke at 29~30rps at 325fps

is kinda sailing a bit close to wind for my liking

      so really stick to 7.4v...

What motor is in there ???

Think that is a ZCI 22tpa/20~22k rpm as 30k would be like 25rps

Something like a 25k would have just put you into the 20's

but tbh you are pretty damn close to what you wanted

but low current/amp draw, snappy response etc...

short stroking might not be an option on a 400~450 barrel AK

So overall you are at what you sought to be

plus when the v3 Perun arrives you'll have pre-cocking

so all's well that ends well as they say

I'd be tempted to look for a slightly quicker motor

not much quicker, but if you come across a cheap 19tpa

then that could fit the bill

but 30rps on full stroke 325fps is getting a little close

and tbh as it stands atm on 7.4v, touching 20rps

that's a good rof on a full AK, with snappy response

  17. Have you tried resetting it? There's a little plunger in the box that is used to reset the mosfet
  18. Tfw you are explaining why heavier objects have more inertia than lighter ones, but the guy is basically a flat earther and doesn't believe in physics :D

There was a study done by some Belgian guys, they tested a wide (60ish) variety of guns with different hops, different power sources, different energy output, they tested about 11 brands of various weight bbs and done a fuckload of maths to come up with 0.33g being the "best" weight that gave the best compromise between range, time to target and consistency.

    3. Adolf Hamster

      Adolf Hamster

i do agree with the 0.3g range being a good compromise, but i have (being a mad bastard) ran .48's in an assault gun and it is supremely effective once you mentally block out the "ker ching" noise your wallet makes every time you pull the trigger.

but these days i tend to run .32's as my baseline ammo because money is a thing and keep the .48's for the dragonuv because if i'm only gonna have 80 shots total it's not so expensive :P

    4. Sitting Duck

      Sitting Duck

As said there will be variations depending on power/energy...

      CQB 300fps then yeah 0.20 ~ 0.25

DMR/Sniper on 425/450fps to propel heavier ammo

but reckon 0.12's are unlikely to be used much

unless maybe if you are running Germany's sub 250fps limit

for auto peew peew but reckon they'd fly everywhere

and may not be felt unless the Germans play naked airsoft

      Kinky...

  19. As expected, the ak2m4 parcel was delivered before the one from Emperion, which was ordered 3 days ago. Fucking bullshit postal service -.-
  20. The same stuff that just happened but then degenerated in a series of personal attacks which eventually ended up with Duff being banned and the catchphrase "you pulled a Duff" being coined.
  21. I was just about to remind everyone about the love story between you and @Duff
  22. Barrel length does not affect range nor accuracy on its own, it affects the energy output and the cylinder to barrel volume ratio. Actually over the years we have seen better performance from shorter barrels than with longer ones. Also tight bores cause more issues than benefits. Back on topic: Just received a new ZCI 6.02x247 because my previous one has some nasty shit inside that throws my bbs way off. The old one will be used for experiments Along with it, a pair of SHS nozzles with o-rings to enhance the seal on my M4s and two of those round brass delayers that should help with the increased nozzle length (21.45mm instead of the stock 21.30). And a bottle of what I thought was silicone oil but turned out to be silicone spray -.- On the "should arrive within the next Ice Age" list: bunch of parts for the AK from @ak2m4 and my replacement PTS EPG grip + a bottle of proper silicone oil from Emperion (hopefully they'll throw in one of their dank patches too)
  23. Last time I took mine apart, it was fine, albeit the spring is kinda shorter than usual (because the guys @gunfire nicked it off to stay below 1J) Will check again as soon as my parts arrive, I wanted to replace the spring anyway as it's a bit on the low side (around 0.75J)..
  24. Yup that's why. The guide-spring-piston system needs to have a little bit of tension at all times. In v2 boxes it's not a really big issue since the spring guide is kept in place by the buffer tube screw, but in an AK the guide isn't held by anything but spring pressure..
