Last weekend I killed my Specna Edge, I'd dropped some 14:1's in as I'd calculated that with the motor I was running I would get about 24-25rps on 11.1/3s and a more realistic 18rps on 7.4/2s.

Lo and behold after fitting the gears and re-shimming it came out great.

I am lucky to have access to a piece of private woodland and we tend to play semi or burst, no auto allowed. I was very much enjoying my new improved RoF when in the last twenty minutes of game day I noticed it started to miss the odd BB, I changed mag thinking it might be this, then it started making a grinding sound. I stopped and switched to the communal "backup" Specna flex M4 we collectively purchased for such occasions.

Stripping it down at home showed that the bearings had disintegrated on the selector plate side of the box.  The bevel gear and spur had dropped and teeth were partially ground off the bevel in the couple of short trigger pulls it took for me to go "wtf is going on?" and realise I had a problem.

On the day I was running a brand new 11.1/3s 2200mah turnigy nano-tech battery with a max discharge rate of 70c, so I think this may have pushed my rate of fire up a bit, as I imagine there would be very little voltage drop under load on this compared to my older butterfly/nunchuck lipos.

I'll be fitting bushings, and see how that goes.

The Curse of this hobby is a crushing inability to stop cocking about with your kit ....

Opinions : Should I add a Dangler pouch on the front or resist the urge and leave it as is?

Agree with @Lozart, ditch the unnecessary stuff, for example you won't need a tourniquet in game, getting rid gives you space for another mag pouch, you'll always need mags in game.

Same for the shears, but I'd keep the VIP light, look cool & have genuine uses in night games.

Ditch the rope, any possible benefit can similarly be achieved with 30 ft of paracord stashed in your pack.

I would go with a dangler pouch, empty weighs nothing but gives some protection, but if you need extra carrying capacity without wanting to access your pack, it's there ready to use.

I'm gonna hazard a guess that you run your pistol & extras on your belt ?, I don't get on well with weight on the belt, being a chunky monkey I'm constantly having to pull me kecks up, so if I was running your rig I'd be tempted to run a serpa or similar on the chest, in place of the rarely used rubber knife, which could be moved to an inverted position on the offside shoulder strap.

    Just my tuppence worth ?🤔

Cake Airsoft is more than just entertainment—it’s about building the airsoft community, pushing boundaries, and refining your skillset. Whether you're preparing for your first op, looking to improve your tactical thinking, or simply enjoy watching real, high-stakes airsoft action, our channel has something for you.

    Jesus wept......

Is that supposed to the 19 year old ?........

    FFS, Catfish much ?

  4. I would imagine the rules, while a bit murky, are similar to any of us wanting to travel abroad for a game in a country where airsoft is permitted ?, contact the airline to confirm their requirements, maybe also email ahead to ukba explaining your intent & supplying an itinerary.

I'm saying this on the assumption that they're not brand new, & the guy is leaving the UK with the guns post game, so there's no issue with duty/taxes etc.

There was a guy in the room playing the VIP (who was part of the organisation team) who saw the whole thing. He seemed entirely disinterested by it - in fact when I tried to bring him into the conversation

Odds on it was because the wrongdoer was a regular there, one of the usual mouthy Teflon warriors that we've all had the misfortune to come across at sites.

Describing someone as a nonce is unacceptable, unless they are shown to be one.  One does not have to be a snowflake to object to such “banter”.

Agree, I don't condone such terms within the parameters of "banter", it's connotations far outweigh any possible attempt at humour.

I could have deleted it, or issued a warning, but I think there's more benefit in other members correcting the person who bandied it about than me policing every hurty word, there's only so many hours in the day lol.

Plus, my comment you've just quoted wasn't in reference to the N word, but rather the comments on the guys actual sales threads.

While the above is true, there also has to be some control over Classifieds asking prices to protect new buyers being ripped-off.  (This is a form of fraud)

To retain any sense of credibility, Classifieds needs monitoring otherwise it could degenerate into a farce resembling 'other' sites.

Definitely,  but if people are going to comment directly on a thread, it needs to be polite, & ideally informative with a retailer link to the item.

Unfortunately what some of the older members used to consider "banter", now has serious connotations irl, which of course the snowflakes are all over it.

  8. Hey guys, I've had 3 reports regarding respect & bullying, while I think some members bring it on themselves with their absurd prices, the forum rules are fairly specific about respect & perceived bullying, something that can't be tolerated.

There is only one thread where sales threads from anywhere can be discussed, & if needed, the piss ripped out of them, WITHIN REASON, & that thread is here, on Macks.

On this occasion I'm not going to issue warnings to anyone, but I will ask you all to familiarise yourselves with the rules, especially the snippets below which seem especially relevant here.

I will also speak to the reportee, who needs to be aware there is generally "no smoke without fire", & he's definitely fanning the flames lol.

Be nice to other forum users
Treat others as you would like to be treated to yourself. There is absolutely no need to be abusive on these forums. If you are then your posts / topics will be edited or deleted, you may be given a warning, you may get your account suspended, and persistent offenders will be banned.

    Be Constructive
If you don't have something constructive to add to a thread then don't post at all. This applies especially in the "Classifieds" section, if you have something to say, PM it to the seller. Comments like "good luck with the sale" or "nice gun" are also not appreciated.

    Thread bashing/trolling
There will be some posts or threads in the forum that you may not like. If you dislike somebody's thread or some of the people participating in the discussion simply don't bother reading or replying to it. Posting/trolling in it with the sole purpose of having it closed (bashing) will not be tolerated.

If he'd thrown a bit of old shit in the door, I'd have been less bothered and obviously not taken it. It was the fact it was an impact, and it made a decent bang when it just hit the floor that I assumed it had gone off - like it had a little 209 primer in or similar.

I think what also narked me more was that this was a battlesim/filsim/milsim-lite job and I expected better, but I appreciate this is on me. I know there's only so much realism you can cram into toy guns, but throwing a spent grenade at an actual enemy IRL would not result in them keeling over due to a misunderstanding 😂

Yeah I was going to add, for a regular walk on day , no big deal, but for a dedicated milsim or similar, it should be taken more seriously.
