Eh, Viper. See also, meh, Nuprol. I cheap out on a lot of stuff, and tend to buy twice and cry twice, but would thoroughly recommend the Mechanix M-Pact gloves linked above. I've tried gloves with both less and more armour, and the M-Pacts hit the sweet spot for protection and trigger...ability.

I have the Jing Gong G36C, so can't comment from experience. From owning CYMA and Specna Arms M4s, and looking at the specs, the Specna has more features, but the CYMA has less to go wrong. If you're buying the CYMA from BBgunz4U (or similar) then there's a small risk that it might come in at over 1.2J as standard, regardless of what they claim. Either one should be fine, or fairly easily made so, it's really down to your preference and tolerance for risk. If it were my money, and at £130 for either, I'd lean very marginally towards the Specna, just because of the QC spring. I'd expect the EBB to be a gimmick that will work for as long as it works.

Dunno, I have a couple that don't feed well. Rather than digging that hole any deeper, I fitted an M4 magwell adapter, and use M4 / Stanag mags.

Not unless you've changed out the stock one. The factory snot-grease might have turned into wax, the trigger contacts could be just barely contacting, or the motor might be very tired. Dive in, I'm sure you can save it.

Yes to the G36C. Solid gearbox, QC spring, decent iron sights, I find it works better than an M4 with a full-face mask, especially if you're comparing optic-vs-optic, and worst case you can fold the stock. V3 triggers aren't great, but you get used to them. Against that, you can fit something like a Perun AB++ without even opening the gearbox.

No regrets at that price. You don't get rotary this and quick-change that, but everything generally works very well together. Ex-Workmate Eddy's G&G shoots just as well as anything that I've "upgraded" with just a nudge of the hop wheel every so often. Stick a 2 in front of that price though and you're up to EDGE 2.0 and Gate Aster territory and it's a very different ball-bearing game.

But sadly G&G look to have priced themselves out of the market now. Very decent guns, basic but everything works well, but with no bells or whistles and a price point closer to £200 than £100 I just can't see that they make sense any more.

You're right to be careful and prepared, but this seems a bit wordy. The VCRA isn't relevant at the point where you're stopped, and neither is it being a realistic imitation (we've seen a conviction for an orange day-glo half-sized springer). The offence is Firearms Act 1968, Section 19, public possession of an imitation firearm. All you need is a "reasonable excuse (the proof whereof lies on [you])". But you do need that. So what I would stress is to always be able to show where you're going with it and why, i.e. site information and ideally booking details. "Look at meeeee!" cosplayers are forever getting caught brandishing their bangers, and despite receiving forbidding fingerings from the Fuzz, they generally go on their way after Words of Advice.

If you do crack and decide to buy something yourself, a pistol can make sense (as much as any of these expensive toys do). Great fun if you get gas blowback, simpler to sort any two-tone, and easier to transport to and from site. Just be sure to have a "reasonable excuse" to hand, i.e. site and booking information. This 'un? A decent choice, if you bagged it. If not, that's an example of what to grab when they do come up - an unmeddled example, ideally with a spare mag, no "fUlLy UpGrAdEd" claims, at a reasonable price.

And runs the risk of attracting people who are only happy if they're winning some unnecessarily provoked conflict, whether it's during the very silly game of hide-and-seek with toy guns, or the even sillier pastime of discussing it. Me, I prefer to avoid that sort of drama, and it's easily enough done with a choice of site, or a few clicks.

Ahoy and welcome back. Is the gearbox actually cracked? G&Gs aren't particularly notorious for that. I also got a G36C (JG) as a backup, and have ended up using it more than anything else.

Seriously though? I wouldn't play at any site that hasn't banned him. I'm there to play a game of airsoft, not to be an involuntary villain in a fictionalised drama.

A decent sized rucksack will take a PDW, or most M4s will split in half with one pin. However, I use a large wheeled luggage holdall. The bigger and more robust the better, as you'll find that you gear will rapidly expand to fit your transport.

Having been one in a previous life/hobby, the reason I avoid proper milsim events is that I wouldn't want to be in the worst kit there. Area-66 ran a WW2 event recently, as one of their marshals and his mates are into that, with vehicles and deacs and all sorts. The turnout was very low, partly because it was the last weekend before the schools went back, but I reckon a fair number of folk looked at the great WW2 impression kit in the promos and - even though they said everybody was welcome, just don't use modern magazine pouches - thought "Well, I'll look pretty daft next to that."

Ouch, which Nuprol were you using? Sorry that happened to you. It's a salient reminder to charge inside an Explosion Containment Pie Dish. I'm using an old SkyRC Imax B6. Last I heard, the RC Master Race were still recommending SkyRCs, e.g. the S65.

Ah, the dichotomy of sniping. You're either in the woods and limited by how far you can see, or in the open and at the mercy of the elements. I think we tend to remember those 75m+ (airsoft units) shots because they're so rare.

I ask because (used gun + a hour of a decent tech's time) > new price About half of the content of Negative Airsoft on YouTube is Luke fixing guns that have been "serviced" by "techs". Specna Orion gearboxes are prone to cracking at the front. That's something you can look for yourself. If it happens, it happens, and it's time for a new shell or a complete new box. Internally, if it sounds OK and shoots OK, it probably is OK. Shimming and re-greasing is a reasonable idea, if it's done right. Replacing parts before they fail, I'm not convinced on, given the random QC of even "upgraded" parts. I'd just hate to see you fork over £50+ for some Skylar to either do nothing, or just spooge some lube in, or actually make it worse.
