New is better most of the time, unless you've fired the gun you're looking to buy. It's too much of a gamble a lot of the time. There's always a reason someone is looking to sell something on, some are innocent (I'm always skint for example), or its not working or shooting correctly. Nowadays it's easy to sell it on second hand and let it be "someone else's problem".

One day soon I will join the MWS master race. I can't take all this jealousy anymore!

Seeing as the seller has responded to my "£100 special" remark with a laughing smiley, I'll back myself up. Let's start with the fact that the gun is £125 brand new, as mentioned above. The gun in the advert is absolutely filthy, so we can only assume has been neglected with very limited maintenance. With the amount of dirt around the trigger, dust cover and magwell, it's safe to assume it has some amount of detritus in the gearbox and/or motor. The exceptionally rusty forward assist, while not functional shows its been used in the wet (not a problem) and then left to fester, not dismantled and dried between games. A handful of cheap accessories a sling and some mags do not justify the additional cost, these things are very cheap and hold very little 2nd hand value. Also, there's no photo of the T1 red dot. Get one of those added as soon as possible or the advert could be removed. And finally, the FPS is incredibly low compared to normal G&Gs. Your 250 on a .25 equates to around 280 on a .2. If someone wanted to buy it, a spring change would have to be a necessity. Overall, a £100 project gun. At best. I'd recommend pitching it for £100 without the extras, and sell them separately for a reasonable 2nd hand price.

And if it's had a new hop rubber, which one? Prommy purple or a decepticon wins you points. An SHS clear £3 Jobby does not.

Gutted, I was just about to order this, thinking it was 40 Hong Kong Dollars, plus 20 HKD shipping (about £8). Turns out it was $USD... get the hella outta here. £40 on a novelty flash hider?! ...heartbroken

Plus, @Briareos, yours looks much nicer. Love the stock on yours. Never found the appeal of uninspired camo paintjobs, where it looks like the gun was used as the underlay for several other spray jobs.

For what it's worth Jay, I thought your advert was fine. Well written and descriptive with good photos. Thought the price was fair for what you got too... Leagues above the normal advert we're used to seeing on here, keep them like that and you'll be fine
