Saturday we had a full day private party booking, a video gaming community that has grown up around a youtube review channel, and get together to play airsoft once a year.
They are online acquaintances, some of whom had never met in real life before.
Some had their own kit some rented.
I have to say, they were brilliant to marshal for.
The mood all day was fantastic, there was not one single complaint about hit calling, in fact quite the opposite:
In the last minute of one game a player grabbed the objective and made an heroic sprint.
Afterwards i overheard an opfor player say:
"I'm pretty sure I saw my shots bouncing off you"
And I thought, uh oh, here we go. But he followed up with:
"But sometimes when you're running like that you just don't feel it".
Why aren't all airsofters like him these days?

Sunday I managed to play, instead of marshaling for a change.
One of my closest friends has been out of the game for months, and came back yesterday, so I was glad to be out there with him, and we had a great time.
Ran my TM MWS for a few games, and my Secutor (well, the exterior is) DMR for a few.
We got absolutely SPANKED by the red team, but had fun in the process.
A couple of the MWS mags were gassing out on the first round, so I'll need to sort that out, but overall a great day.

My loadout from Sundays game, that @Skullcheweralready posted about in "how did your airsoft day go?".
It's subtle, but you might be able to make out my favourite outfit colour.

Not shown: 2 radios on my back as I was squadleader.
Also not shown: me getting a headache from having to decypher what two different channels are trying to tell me at the same time. 😂

New 'inexpensive' DMR build. Base gun is a polymer GE 417, for weight and low price. Out of the box it was pretty horrid , but tbf for what it cost I wasn't expecting much. Gearbox is a long V2 with a mosfet and some sort of electronic full auto set up, no COL and a micro switch whitch enables full auto. I'm not realy a fan of mosfets as I see it as adding unnecisary electronic crap, ( and I'm normally running GBBR) but I'll concede that the lack of COL is handy in a semi locked pew.
I've replaced the piston head and added a slightly longer double o ring nozzle, compression is now awesome. Switched to a ZCI rotary hop and inner barrel, along with a M/L rubber and Omega nub. Also a high torque motor. Now running at 1.78j on my home chrono on .36BBs.
Quick blow over with Halfords paint to make it look a bit less plastic and added a few spare decals I had.

It'll get a run out next game to shake it down, but happy with that.

Had a very long but enjoyable day at Special Ops' new CQB site.

Day started off a bit pooh though with me arriving without my battery bag.  So had to rag it home in the car to get back in time for the briefing.

I lost track of the number of  games we played, but numbers started off with around 20 players.  This dropped off significantly at lunch time; then again at 4pm there was only 9, then at 5 ish there were only 4 of us.

Game of the day fro me was the VIP games where teams took it in turns to get the drunk VIP from the pub to the car at the opposite end of the building.  Lots of close calls and last minute reprieves for both sides to be had.  Then we had various rolling retreats, TDMs and "Get to the Choppa" games.

Once the numbers were down to single figures we had the pyramid game where each player on a team was given a number; which resulted in said numbers being the rotation of the players in the game.  At the start player 1s would be 1v1, then when that player died, they'd get player two for their side and so on.  5th kill was the end.  This was a great game as the sides were very evenly balanced with a speedy boi softer on each side, a youngling/first timer, an experienced slower player and someone in the middle.  The twist was that the game was played 4 times and they rotated the numbers around so every player got a chance to be 1v1.

When it was just the 4 of us left; I was the more experienced, and physically much bigger player.  There was a 14 year kid who was tiny, but turned out to be a deadly shot with his Glock which he was using for most of the day.  There was an American teenager on his first time and an older teenager who is a regular at the outdoor site.  This American dude got a tooth shot out in the morning in a freak incident with his full face mask, but he got back in the game and seemed to enjoy himself.

We had a blast of "winner stays on", 2v2, and a fun game where I was a guard patrolling the centre of the game area on a fixed path whilst the remaining younglings had to sneaky sneaky around to get to the bank to retrieve the gold.  Little buggers were lucky that when they made a dash for it, one of the marshalls was in the way LOL.

Get to the Choppa was an unmitigated disaster for our team as the opposition had Thomas - the notorious Special Ops runner - and twice in a row they won the game in less than a minute with barely a shot fired.  In my defence, I nearly got them on their approach, but my pistol mag had decided (unbeknownst to me) vent itself and pulling the trigger resulted in sweet feck all.

Due to my size I tended to stick out past walls and couldn't always duck low enough for cover.  As a result, I was domed more times than I can remember.  I also managed to get a BB up my nose.  Which I didn't notice until talking to a player at respawn and it rolled out mid sentence, much to his humour and my surprise.  Comedy moment of the day also fell to me as I snuck up behind someone in the Bank and stood there with my pistol pointed at him for a good 20 seconds deciding where to shoot him - which in the end was the back of his helmet.  The overseeing marshall and I exchanged a knowing glance. 😎

Its a great venue.  I think 30 players is the practical limit before overcrowding and bottlenecking becomes an issue.  Ironically as the numbers dwindled the day got more fun.  Not because of the players, but Carlos and the marshals adapted the games to match the players.

I have never run pistols as much as I had today.  The Specna is still having troubles, so I needed up with my Double Eagle as rifle of choice, one of my WE glocks isn't cycling properly; but fortunately I had a spare (of course) and the Boy's TM Glock also served me very well.  I managed to get all my mags leak free so was well stocked with 6.  Also the Double Eagle was throwing out .2s bang on 349FPS, and won me a few lovely kills, one of which was the 14 year old whose eye level was the same as the partially opened window of the delivery van - I got him from the far end of the building under the tail of the Choppa.

The day was certainly better than I expected - as a Woodland player mainly - and getting game play from 10am to 6pm (including a lunch break) was great.  Now i am resisting the urge to buy a better pistol and a tracer unit.

My face and legs however look like a dot to dot picture, and the guy behind the counter of my local shop wondered what had happened.   Hopefully they will go down before the big family Easter Dinner tomorrow LOL.

Ok, so this is shipping a lot sooner than expected. It looks like these will ship late May/early June and are already up for pre-order. Also it looks like it'll be compatible with A&K SR-25 magazines, which means that Cyma SR-25 mags should also fit (good for me as I have 5). Also looks like you can have the outer barrel either 14.5" or 16" as it has a screw on extension at 1.5". Interestingly, out of the box it looks like the HPA line connects by the stock. Seems to be built like the Billet series, not the Forged series.

Starting to pop up for pre-order here too. Price seems to be around the £800 mark

So coming out of IWA this week we had a tasty little preview of what looked to be a .308 variant of the MTW. A lot of people consider MTWs to be the best HPA platforms, since they're built for it and tend to come out at pretty high quality, so another variant that isn't just an AR-15 will be welcome (even if it's only an AR-10). I'll be interested to see where this goes, as I do like my .308 guns and I'd like to do a build with a tank in the stock, but will see how things develop as we know very little at the moment.

TM MWS in a Fortis receiver with B.A.D & Strike Industries furniture, other than the F1 grip.
Last pic was with a Vortex Venom in a Strike Industries REX, but would benefit from a riser. The trigger box pin & anti rotation links weren't installed in that photo.

Went a little over budget with this one, a couple of times, but it worked out!

I've been in-store at Bespoke Airsoft. The shop is pretty good and they are planning to move to larger premises soon (with much better parking) near High Wycombe.

Only Airsoft/Combat UK in Stevenage is easy to get to with plenty of parking nearby and has a lot of RIFs on display in store. They also have a shooting range.

I sailed under a lucky star when the shop opposite me chucked out a load of slatwall. I ran over, asked if they wanted it, then tried to shift if. It's a tad heavy when attached to 18mm MDF! 😱😂
Got it home, all of 50m, put it up and then bought a load of hangers.
I need to do a reshuffle at some point as I'm running out of room...have a big ol' basket now for mags as only two of my prws share mags. 😂😂😂

Just because @Scubasteve89has discovered the desktop fittings, I’ll point out a couple of other options for fitting display systems ……

I use grid walls at shows etc and we build them into various different setups.
Outside in a gazebo we’ll use tall grid walls and zip tie them to parts of  gazebo, inside we’ll have them both on the ground with feet and also mounted onto tables.
For added stability we’ll make corner arrangements ziptieing and clamping grid walls to each other
I can’t find a decent photo at the moment but also use ‘grid shelves’ which then get used to add stability around corners etc

We don’t do this at shows, but if you have a fixed area and you can drill holes then there are hangers (combine hangers and feet if there’s space)
A couple of traders have ‘door hooks’ that can be put over a display wall to hang grid wall

The ones on the tables are about to be assembled and stood up, the wall hanging is a buddies mobile airsoft shop which some members may recognise

Hi, cant comment on foot problems as i dont have any, but i have the adidas terrex in trainer and boot form. Wore the boots today after breaking them in last week and they have performed really well. Feet comfortable and dry all day, the open tread pattern dealt with the wet mud on site really well. Wore a decent pair of socks too
