  1. How do you get them to ship to you? I tried to order AEG and UK was refused.
  2. Defence = nothing to declare?
  3. Welcome to the forum! This is not correct information. UKARA has nothing to do with ownership, and nothing to do with playing with a Realistic Imitation Firearm (RIF) airsoft gun. No technically(s), and bugger whomever is giving that advice. Several stores do free two-tone. You have 12 months from your first game at a UKARA* gamesite to play three games to be added to the database. *even if a gamesite is not affiliated with UKARA that does not mean it is impossible to get on the database by playing there nor convincing a retailer to sell a RIF on the basis of applicable defence equal to ukara.
  4. Whats your general area/travel range? Plenty of (mostly indoor) sites offer weekday evenings.
  5. Look at the advice given to other newbies. There is some really good stuff. M4s are popular.
  6. Well, I only mentioned it off of some passing comments, I've no evidence or proof that the phenomenon of measurable fps drop between an inner barrel's terminus and the weapon's muzzle occurs or does not occur, but I trust my source. Once I get a chrono of my own i'll be testing for my own interests. But only because I just bought 30cm of outer barrel to put on my gun - because why not. Make it your own, right? EDIT: At my last game day I chronoed 5/5 351 FPS.
  7. Rodd sent me a 1400 word email in july, they're bloody thorough - and that's to a prospective customer. I wanted to get a polarstar SCAR, in the end I didnt get a polarstar at all, the SCARs that fit good Hop ups and polarstars were far too expensive - I didn't fancy buying a £400+ gun - which would have good internals only to rip them out.
  8. Have you contacted Rodd over at polarstar, they are incredibly thorough and helpful.
  9. We have threads on everything else. I'm glad I started it, I will be invested in new socks. Because of the aforementioned disability, walking has never been a high priority of mine so I'm quite inexperienced with options available, particularly socks. Having to get every pair of shoes modified at up to £200 per shoe does quite put one off buying [any/specialist] shoes.
  10. Its in the forum feedback area, its just a poll though, not discussion. I think Qlimax just means, give it a few weeks and we'll have a dedicated subforum for HPA discussion.
  11. Socks specifically orientated for airsoft-like pursuits? I use the thickest (winter) socks I already have, but I've recently been considering buying some thicker ones after I noticed that Mil1st and UKtac have sock areas. Obviously well fitting boots is important. I spent an inordinate amount on my boots due a congenital disability (230 + 80 for different sized pairs). I can't walk in unmodified shoes so this cost was unavoidable. What do you guys do for your under/in-boot-wear? Other threads I found: http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/11474-where-to-get-good-boots/#entry75550
  12. Funnily enough that's not where I got that idea from. In the end I just got the one gun, and asked for TWG to reduce it to 335. Bought a bunch of different length suppressors, but only cus they look nice. Airsoft Engineering ones with no text. I think the point with regards to FPS drop is that it puts the gun further away from the chronograph, granting the BB more time to lose force. But that's a whole other topic about whether the muzzle is the end of the inner or outer barrel.
  13. I guess I should take offence then. Too bad I cant be bothered. From what you've said about 'walt' clearly does not apply to me, so there's no point worrying about it, its quite pathetic to use such a niche insult. Though "it's all crap", was rather annoying since what I wrote was informative and I was hoping someone would offer an alternative interpretation on the use of the word "principal", I can see no one wants to talk about it, but the law (when using the literal approach) clearly states that one select colour should cover half. "Its all crap" synonymous with "In my opinion what you said is crap because that's my opinion". I don't feel the need to insult anyone over this though. All he had to say was "I disagree because...", heck I invited alternate theories.
  14. The UKARA period starts from the first day which the club has written records of your attendance, not the first date with a stamped form. At 3 play sessions in more than 2 months and not more than 12 you have it.
  15. You don't do your own credibility any favours by failing to explain.
  16. Electric Airsoft guns most certainly do not work that way in practice. Some Gas and HPA airsoft guns - as with paintball do. (unless you mean't to say 'force')
  17. If one takes the act and regulation literally then 51% of the gun must be one of the colours from that list, the remaining 49% can be anything. I'm hoping someone will offer an alternative interpretation - as literal sucks.
  18. It's not about realistic, it's about range of colour, after you have the law taken care of you ought to be able to do whatever you like.
  19. Don't forget you can still have 49% realistic, as least that's how people interpret it. I believe this regulation is untested so if you take it literally as I have - ie principal means "a single colour". It's unlikely you'll ever run into a problem if the principal colour (covering 51% of the gun) is from that list above. No matter what you do with the other 49%.
  20. The act does not refer to the use of multiple colours, I would suspect that at least one colour must still cover 51% of the item. For example, painting an IF completely yellow with red spots, but the spots covered more than half the yellow, that item would be a RIF (?). As absurd as that sounds.
  21. If its still an IF then really you've not done anything at all. In the VCRA they use the words "bright" and "principal colour", generally taken to mean 51% of the surface area. On page 2 of the appropriate regulation they state the colours, take note of how the word "bright" is used.
