There are already several (5+) petitions on this exact subject over the last 5 years, I believe non of them got above 0.002% of the required signatories. You lose nothing by using a two tone gun, and the second hand market in two tone guns is healthy for the hobby. Although I admit that most items put up for sale are listed at way higher than 65% of retail. That had nothing to do with it being two tone, unless you're suggesting any suffered disadvantage could be down to the way the gun was painted? There is no way paint could make it shoot with less power.

If the legislators got involved (again), they wouldn't stop at eye pro. VCRA2006 nearly crippled/destroyed the sport, and it wasn't even drawn up for airsoft. I do hope no one ever has to be the guy that fires the shot resulting in another player loosing their sight in airsoft though.

NO, you still don't get it, you're not there yet. At a well run site you will never get chrono'd on heavier ammunition than .20g (unless you specificity asked to afterwards for your own interests). The only way to get consistent results is to test everyone with the same weight, yes there will always be fluctuations - and by that I mean two guns which both are rated 450 FPS with 0.20g may fire at 340 and 380 with another weight (lets say .28g). The reason I mention this is if YOU chrono with 0.30g your gun is not being tested against any meaningful scale. I suggest you re read this entire thread, read the link above (which I also Pm'd) which proffink borrowed the table from, find the wikipedia article on the subject, do some actual research. Then and only then come back and explain it to us in your own words. You're looking for the relationship between Force, Mass, and Velocity where mass is the control.

Taking an FPS reading and not caring about BB weight is the height of fallacy - one reason I'm not going to bunker 51 ever again. Why would you want to cause more pain? :S FYI, airsoft guns fall into three power brackets, usually defined (at 0.2g BB) as "automatic 328-350 FPS and below", "Semi only 15-30m MED 350-425(sometimes 450) FPS" and "bolt action 30m MED 425-500 FPS". So really, unless you're planning to cheat to play in a different bracket, forget about causing more pain on other people.

Is there a no way to create the practical effect of the grip connect while keeping the Amped Airsoft product's benefits? I suppose when it comes down to it grip connect actually creates weakness by reducing flexibility, but thats just speculation.

You said the UTG already has 500 FPS. Either you're mistaken, or unaware of the effect increased weight does not have on muzzle force (Increased weight reduces muzzle velocity, but muzzle force remains the same). The reason a weapon's FPS is chonographed is to work out muzzle force in relation to the weight of the BB used, everyone tests with 0.20g. If you increase the BB weight, the FPS reading drops. It's not even a membership, its a database maintained by a retail association in order to prove to the homeoffice et al, that all the Realistic Imitation Firearms they've sold were to people who had, subject to a prior consultation with the govt, proven that they were airsoft skirmishers/reinactors to a degree that is believed to satisfy the defences in the VCRA2006 to the sale, import and manufacturing of Realistic Imitation Firearms. It protects the retailers (and everyone else), from breaking that law at the point of sale of any Realistic Imitation Firearms. It is also needed for import and converting a [two-tone] into a RIF without breaking the law. It's not even like a license because when it comes down to it UKARA is just a way to prove you (until it's tested in court) have a defence to the VCRA2006, it is not a requirement* for importing/manufacturing/selling, but it's the most popular and easiest to work with, and the most expediant if you're shipping them into the UK as a private individual. *Note, you do require a defence, but it does not have to be UKARA.

Why is the IGL recommended more than grip connect, are they not mutually exclusive? PS, I do understand why the IGL is good, it maintains its bore width and flow volume when stressed, and does not degrade at either end needing replacement.

So their customer service depo is a little insane. I bought something for $11, reported to them it was broken/non functional, and they've said "If you don't want it, please ship it back [to HK] for replacement or refund, thanks". I can't pay upfront for the shipping will ask at post office tomorrow. Return postage is 85% of the items cost.

It's better to use criteria other than price to determine the gun you will get. The cheaper guns have a place in airsoft, my first primary gun, was a mere £155 + £32 for charger/battery. It's from a reputable budget line, in the upper tier of budget guns, imo, you get off budget guns between £180 and £250. But theres plenty of good stuff in the 100-200 range, but not really in the sub £100 range. Please tell us, how much of your budget is for other gear?

You can't buy an imitation firearm if you're under 18. That does not mean you have one though, any adult can buy an imitation firearm for airsoft use. My advice to you though, take that £100, and keep it until you 'ave another £100 to rub together. Remember to take into account the magazine sizes of the guns, (unless you use a hi-cap).

Bump. I was thinking of giving a try, but I can't find out what you get for your money. Though its clear from youtube that you get to never imagine bunker 51 again.
