  1. I need to shape the magazine spring and get the internals working and if that goes well I might start to replace parts with metal bits.

  3. Getting told to buy a real AR upper for my VFC by Billybob because it's cheaper than a VFC one where he's at. We do get some fun surplus stuff here that they don't get though, at least.

  4. With the winter months closing in I got the single most important piece of kit. A waterproof. It actually works pretty well and should keep my kit, my optics, and most importantly, me nice and dry without getting in the way too much. I am going to sew some velcro in to the inside of the hood so that it sticks to my cap though 20251008_201057~2.mp4

  8. True, I freely admit to some old-git nostalgia about how much better it was in my day and all this used to be fields and a Freddo was only 5p etc…

Occasionally, I just remember seeing you and thinking that's a tough gig. Fair play for getting stuck in! Didn't get to chat with you as I was on the opposite team. Maybe next time.

  12. My battery still goes in the dd handguard but I had to remove the gas parts.

  13. I cannot remember where we put the battery after I fitted a DD rail to Ben's one; I think we might have use a dummy PEQ box. I think if I was to get one, I would stick with the polymer handguards.

  14. Yeah they're pretty robust now. They have a latching valve in most models that needs a bit of force to trigger.

  16. Well, the thing is you might be - some of the groups have some great info/contributors, just the platform sucks. Would be great if all those people would join up to the forum. In case it wasn't becoming self-evident, yes I am petulantly demanding everyone use the internet the way I want...

  20. A mate of mine has just retired from the Met, he's served in every aspect of their firearms units for over a decade, loved the job, but disheartened by the system, when they charged one of his colleagues with murder, for just doing his job, he nearly handed in his "ticket" along with many others, only thing that stopped him was his impending pension review. But a lot did quit, & previous applicants that didnt quite make the grade were then reconsidered for fast tracked recruitment to the units, in order to fill the considerable gaps. With that in mind, I don't think we can say that accidents won't happen, or mistakes be made, a very recent possible was the synagogue attack just a week ago, one of those killed & one of the injured was as a result of police rounds, we've yet to hear the finer details, that probably won't be made public for at least 6 months while every aspect is investigated, the officers involved will downgraded in their duties, & eventually recommendations may be made to prevent a reoccurrence in the future. My point is, the system takes it very seriously, so much so that should airsoft rifs figure in a police related shooting, the powers that be will have no hesitation in recommending changes in rif ownership, after all we're just a bunch of silly buggers dressing up, & running around playing silly buggers, its highly unlikely that anyone in power will consider that our right to play realistic looking silly buggers will outweigh the need for future public safety or police procedures. Hence why we've got to be on top of our game, so to speak, & enabling anyone, especially non airsofters to cut corners when it comes to rif ownership, is a massive no no. If its true, im disappointed that firesupport is accepting cosplay as a defence, they should know better, but money is money in these difficult times i guess ?.

  21. As someone who remembers the IRC and Forum heyday, you just described an awful lot of old forums ngl. Some sites you could have a page of discussion fly through a thread between starting and ending your post. Plus all the etiquette like never double posting, giving fully paragraphed answers to things that aren't as relevant now because, well, forums are a shadow of what they were sadly. I find Discord useful for getting answers to questions but I definitely find a lot of servers a bit too high tempo to keep up with. Better organised ones can have things like slowmode channels for preventing inane prattering, and much like the old forum days, the quality lives and dies on how diligent the mods are about actually enforcing the rules.

  23. You know me I like to make a comment on the used airsoft ones to make others aware of dodgey pricing hahaha. I'm not sure if they have moderators to protect them over there.

We're all pretending to be something we aren't & dressing up, so as much as I wouldn't be seen dead in a 'costume' at a game, I really like to see players who go all in and wear either full wehrmacht or pink fluffy bunny. I wish I had the confidence to do it but I'm too reserved.

  29. Hear is my gun wall I put together with all my Cold War NATO guns. From top to bottom. 1) originally a A&K m240. It's has been converted into a British spec L7a2 GPMG using a blend of real steel parts and custom machined parted and the internals have been replaced with a Daytona gun recoil engine. 2) originally a VFC LAR. Ongoing project, It's being converted into a British/ commonwealth spec l1a1 SLR using a mix of real steel parts and custom machine steel outer barrel and flash eliminator. 3) Vfc M16a1, a recent addition so it's completely bone stock. For now. 3) originally a WE L85A2. It is now a custom built L86A2 that have been put together using a ICS l86 AEG parts and a custom machine outer barrel extension and replica gas piston and gas block. 4) WE L85a2 that is in the process of being converted into a A1 spec replica. Iv machined a A1 clocking handle and I have the a1 front hand guard but I Still need to make a gas block that will allow me to fit the replacement real steel hand guard. The bayonet is a real surplus SA80 one. 5) WE Apache that's got a SLR grip fitted as a fore grip. Not sure what I want to do with replica yet. Probably going to do some sort of operation dynamo SAS type build 6) Originally a WE xm177e1 it's been built to resemble the Car-15 used by Danny archer at the end of the film blood diamond. If you know you know. 7) VFC G3A3. This one is is almost stock. It has an adjustable valve fitted but that's all. I intend to get a nice set of bundeswehr furniture for it. Pistols I'm not a big pistol lover so only got 3 1) WE browning Hi power mk1 2) WE Browning Hi power mk3 3) WE Sig P226 If your reading this thanks for talking the time to read what iv written. I hope you like what iv got to show.

Picked up this E&C on the forums what feels like forever ago, took a while to get it where I wanted it both externally and internally but it’s finally there after finding the time to repaint it.

  34. Trying to make my Hi-Capa to look a little like a 1911! I just need to get the safeties to be black to match the two tone aesthetic. Also added Tritium sights to be able to aim better in low light conditions

  35. Due to the increase in scammers, and to add better protection for buyers, any sale or swap advert in the Classifieds must include one photo with your AFUK username and a date. Effective from 01 December 2024. Below is the updated rule 5: All sales and swaps advertisements must have a picture, all pictures must be taken by the seller. Do not use a retailers pictures - take your own. There must be at least one photo with a piece of paper showing your AFUK forum name and date next to the item(s) for sale/swap (this updated rule is effective from 01/12/2024). Do not use Photoshop or other editing software to include your username and date, this is what scammers do and will result in adverts being deleted from the Classifieds. Using photos with different usernames from other forums, and links to other forum photos, is no longer acceptable.
