Is there any scheme in place to allow members to make small donation, or big if they're flush, towards the running costs of this forum? With Arnies now gone I would hate to see this great resources to go the same way. I know these things take time and effort but what about a run of patches and stickers too? Second thing Is these blooming non airsoft adverts at top of pages, I assume this is a cost thing to cover costs, but any chance they could at least be more relevant to airsoft than Funeral Adverts!? Anyway keep up the good work.1 point

Finished setting up my first plate carrier now I've lost enough weight that it doesn't make me look like a string of sausages. Carrier itself is just an 8 fields one that will eventually be superceded but all the mag pouches are surplus. Digi flora one can fit two ak mags each or one of my rpk midcaps depending on what I want to run. Mag pouches on the cumberbund add an extra 4 mag spaces without taking up my range of movement in my arms. 74u is the ubiquitous cyma cm.0451 point -

Same guy but he not only originally tried flogging it for £500, he misidentified it as Ares originally as well. He claimed to have video proof of it working in the past.1 point

A "fully upgraded" DE Honey Badger that was marked down from £500 to £300 is now boneyard at £120 with a reported electrical fault. https://prefired.co.uk/ads/broken-upgraded-honey-badger/ If you spend just £40 more, you can get a brand new working original with none of the internals being tinkered around with and without that horrible paintjob. https://shop.super5ives.com/shop/item/133397/double-eagle-m904g.html1 point

CA B&T MP5k with 8.4v battery, SP89 handguard and 6 midcsps. This gun has external age related paint wear, looks better i think. Internally it was worked on by Kingdom of Airsoft, i don't know the details but it hops 32s and has a healthy rof, perfectly at home in woodland and CQB.£175

This is probably the exact case. It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if this whole ordeal is just another way of getting RIFs out the door. Maybe if the law was actually revised to make sense and give collectors some way of getting RIFs whilst proving that they’re not going to take them on the rob then we’d have less of this silly tip toeing about some companies are trying to pull. JustCos accepting retailers seem to be playing on the “insured activity” part of the VCRA, but I feel like if that were the case, surely, something like a practical shooting society would better fit that bill? Especially with the whole “Recreation of military or law enforcement scenarios” part of the exceptions, since practical shooters are literally running around partaking in doing exactly that, as they’re often doing courses used to train military and LEO personnel. This defense is extraordinary to me because it’s only airsoft retailers that accept it from what I’ve seen, all the non firing replica weapon stores like SOF, who sell non firing replicas that would be more appealing to cosplay events, don’t seem to acknowledge its existence. Furthermore, many major public cosplay events don’t even allow realistic imitation firearms.1 point

The quietest pistol you'll ever have.1 point -
I've not been in about a year or so, but yeah it's pretty much been like that when I've been. Every time I've played there, bar one, has always been in the first paintball-style section closest to the safe zone. Only once have I ever managed to play in the pines section (and this goes for the last three owners of the site prior to the current lot). When I say HPA & drum mags, I don't mean that they're anything particularly bad or malicious with it, just that there seems to be higher percentage than one would expect (TBF, this seems to be common among most of the sites in the North east; and a large reason why I don't really bother attending any local sites anymore). Games always seemed to be focused on short, fast scenarios where simply putting down rounds and hosing has been the name of the game; followed by everyone returning to the safe zone after every one only to come back out and do it again. I've got nothing against the guys that run it, they've been absolutely fine on a personal level, it's just not been the type of gameplay that interests me, which is why I didn't want to name them; (besides some rather daft pricing for ex hire guns, they've not really done anything wrong, it's just not my flavour of Airsoft). I've been doing this hobby for nearly 30 years, and You could even say Airsoft as a whole has been going this way in the past few years; which means I'm having to travel further and further afield to find somewhere that interests me. All of the local sites are pretty much the same, so it's not confined just them.1 point

The quietest aeg that you can make is most likely something like an Aug or previously mentioned an F2000. The gearbox is very enclosed and the areas around it can be padded out with foam and etc for further sound proofing. Although that's only if all variables between all the different aegs are constant. Noises come from every single part of the gearbox. The motor, gears, piston, piston head and cylinder head slapping and other bits. The fact is if you take 10 aegs out of the box. All the same model and from the same manufacturer you will find each one sounds different1 point

Another small update. 2 more rifles and an adapted acog. First, is the L2A1 SACTARASS (semi-automatic counter terrorist assault rifle and sniper system). (HK 417) This has been seen used with uksf for many years now. With 3 different variants. 12", 16" & 20" versions. Mine is a vfc 12" version with a surefire suppressor and acog. It's current set up as seen in a few reference pics that have been floating about. The acog has also had to be adapted. So the uksf were known for sticking with the TA01, but with the RMR. Meaning it has an off set front sight and larue mount. For airsoft, they never done this. Meaning I've had to pretty much butcher 2 acogs to make one. A box standard TA01, then a TA31 rco for the RMR and off set front sight blade. Second weapon is the L80A1 (MP5K) This has been In Service for decades. So nothing special to really report here. There was another version of the MP5K, that had its sights removed!... This was known as the L90A1.1 point -
