Should I buy another TM VSR10 G spec
ButcherBill and 3 others reacted to Reef for a topic
Incase you're interested in what I did.... I bought another TM VSR 10, but in OD this time. I did handle the other snipers, TAC-41, SSG's, they were nice but felt like 'too much' of a gun for what I need, if you see what I mean. The clean line and simplicity of the VSR is a real attraction to me. I've bought the parts to upgrade to the same spec as my other VSR, this will be fine for now until I feel the need to go further. Thanks for all the input and DM's guys, its really appreciated. The scope is just one I had lying about. its a x50 and too big in my view. I'll keep an eye out for a nice x40 mildot.4 points -

It looks it from the Airsoft Hub post. Blue paint can be seen on the handguard and the stock looks like uneven spraying. He sounds like he's trying to deflect and gaslight in implying it makes no difference if it was originally two-tone. It made a difference to him not to be two-tone when he painted the damn thing.2 points -

And to me personally the stupid thing is that the AEG isn't even worth £290 new, in that this is crazy money for an AEG with a very basic inline MOSFET, there's no optical cycle control so you could still easily get jams on semi. £300 would get you a nice new AEG with at least a GATE Aster in it ?2 points

I have fitted a small nunchuck lipo on tamiya in a midwest grip(think it was vapex). It's super tight but doable - you have to run the wires on top of the barrel, and the battery at 4 and 8 o'clock. I might change them to the new plug to make more space, but that limits the battery compatibility between other mp5's, and also if i do it wrong and blow the fet, it be proper buggered. That said, i later moved the midwest grip to an A4 and went magpul on the A5.2 points

These GBB PCC's are getting quite interesting now. Pistol GBB mags are way more practical for their size and weight compared to the rifles mags. Plus, if you run compatible side arm, you only need to carry one type of magazine and pouches.2 points -

Reducing the number of mags isn't necessarily the objective or beneficial. I had a mate ditch his primary and use his sidearm only. Let's just say that running out of ammo mid-game was identified before he went to the game area as a likely outcome and that he did it twice without learning his lesson. ?1 point -

I got a couple of messages from folks selling theirs, so there must be some around. There's also been an add in the classifieds selling 3D printed ones. FYI... the one I got was missing the 'spacer' so I had to DIY one from some pipe.1 point -

Given how often some of the groups have to pin posts or repeat answers to repetitive questions, yeah, they won't take too kindly to this format. What the social media platforms do provide is an excellent source of memes and gifs. There are occasions where someone will spark the interest and wake the slobbering beast that is the FB social community. The most recent one was a Karen discovering the fafo, I won't go over it, it's Bryn done1 point -

I was hoping to buy another gun he was selling which, on closer inspection of the pictures, looked like it might have been painted. When I asked him about it and mentioned that the G&G one was being discussed, he denied that it was painted and asked why it would matter if it was originally two-toned. At that point, I ended the conversation.1 point -

A skinny handguard is next on the list.1 point -
? Yeah I've got the Magpul, functionally I think it's the very best option going for the A5. Probably a bit bland looking these days but loads of battery room, comparatively not that pricey, as much M-LOK as you'll ever want and not bloody freezing in the winter. Mine took the tiniest bit of filing to a couple of corners internally to snap on perfectly, but they don't even always need that.1 point

I don't think that any of the skinny handguards support batteries there is literally no space between them and the outer barrel. It's not a show piece though because you can sell it with some loss obviously. Lots of people are into RS stuff here and it's a drop-in in most cases regarding gbb mp5's. I bought a cheap clone of that particular handguard and had the same issues. Your best bet is the genuine magpul handguard or if you feel adventurous you could try something like this: https://www.sixmm.com/en-gb/products/army-force-mp-style-mp5-m-lok-handguard-for-tokyo-marui-mp5-ngrs-gbb-seriesblk.1 point

The seller is away for a couple of days but for lens protectors would recommend reddotengineering on eBay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/reddotengineering1 point

What's the outer barrel diameter of the Sig Romeo 5? If it's either 26, 28 or 30mm, one of these push-on lens protectors would do the job. https://projectairsoft.co.uk/collections/sight-accessories/products/28mm-red-dot-sight-lens-protector I have the 28mm on one of my RDSs. The shroud is 3D-printed so you probably won't get away with stretching a 26mm protector over a 27mm barrel. Alternatively, if the diameter of the Romeo 5 is 28mm, you have this option from Patrol Base with a rubber shroud. https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/wadsn-flashlight-protector1 point
