Worked pretty well, switching between the two as desired. I wouldn't bother taking two with anything bigger than the MP5 or anything with a fixed stock, nor would i do it with a sniper rifle that isn't really light. Not ideal, but fun. Yup, MP5K and boltie or DMR is my combo of choice when I'm not LARPING. I bin the long gun off half the time and go ham with the SMG. There's no right or wrong way to play pretend soldiers. Cheeky vimto
I find the biggest gripe with sniping is people not taking the hit. They don't hear a round of BBs flying at them and it's a single hit, a lot of the time people will ignore the hit and hide behind cover. Remember, if you get hit by a sniper, we're still watching you and know you cheated. Edited February 13 by Cheeky vimto Rogerborg

I'm going to be controversial but that's why sometimes it's better to hit an area of the target that's more likely to feel the shot if you know what I mean, sorry 😔 Lozart

Depending on how much padding is on the target, I usually give players the benefit of the doubt of them not feeling it but I will continue shooting until they call their hit or I will aim somewhere more likely to cause a reaction. It is a bit of a quandary when you've only got one chance to make a hit, and you know there's a fair chance that a plate-carrier hit "won't be felt". The morality of shot placement aside, it's a good argument for setting the tone for a site by being scrupulous about calling your own hits, loudly and cheerfully. "Nice shot!" is my go-to, and anything else is said under my breath. DanBow
DanBow
I do do that too, shout good shot and give them a thumbs up. I'm sure it encourages a good attitude in the game. Galvatron, Rogerborg and TheFull9
Reef
My sniper rifle is only 1j so have had people not call the hit a few times. Can be annoying but as others say I keep dialling in the shot until I hit somewhere they do notice it. I love the fieldcraft aspect of it, with a low power bolt action you are hugely outgunned which makes sneaking up and getting the hit super satisfying. While i have a K as well, i took this one. Worked as a good combo all in all, MP5's very capable to about 40m, and sufficiently accurate. I much prefer the folding stock over a collapsible one. 19 hours ago, Rogerborg said: There's no right or wrong way to play pretend soldiers. 😬 Rogerborg, Galvatron, Barry Sayer and 4 others 1 4
wilfie617
Hi I just bought this with 3 high cap mags and 6000 0.28g bbs. My first Airsoft gun (no UKARA so got it in two tone pink because there's an offer over valentine's) https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/delta-armory-da-a14-etu-alpha-tm-10-m-lok-m4-ar-15-aeg?fv=25691 Anonymoose and Cannonfodder

It's not a P90! That's a fair whack to pay for what I assume is a first gun, but it does claim a decent spec. Have you had a chance to try it out yet? I literally ordered it last night, won't get delivered until 28th Feb. Yea it is a fair amount but I wanted something I didn't have to tinker with apart from cleaning and attachments. I know Delta Armory haven't had the best reputation but apparently these later models are much better especially the ALPHA ETU versions with upgraded internals. If I remember I'll come back here and let you know how it went with it Galvatron, Rogerborg and Anonymoose

Amokura
Should have kept the pink. It's the only two-tone colour that somewhat tends to look better. Rogerborg

BigAl
Right having just read the whole thread ( yawn ). 1. Forget snipers, GBB even NGRS/ ERG and get a bog stock AEG. 2. Don't spunk all your budget on the gun, you need mag, batteries/charger ( if gun includes it, bin it. Forget NIMh and go Lipo ), mask/goggles, LBE etc etc. Spend maybe 2/3 on the gun. 3. Visit your local site or sites and play a few games. Talk to regular players, we love to help newbies with advice. Some of the nicer players may let you try there gun. Try as many different types as you can. Once you know what type you like you can look at makes. Unless you particularly dislike em or really like something else an M4 is probably best choice. Also see what site uses as rentals, they generally use something very solid and reliable. 4. If you visit a site a few times this is defence sorted, if you wish you can then get this registered on the UKARA Database ( as long as your site is part of the scheme ) to aid proving your defence. 5. Try to visit a few large shops and again have a play or feel of as many different guns types as you can. Speak honestly to shop sales man and seek their advice, bare in mind of coarse they are probably gonna try and sell you something they stock. 6. When your ready to buy hopefully you'll have some knowledgeable friends buy then, take them to the shop with you. In Fact get there recommendation on good shops. 7. When you buy a gun buy the battery there as well and make sure it fits your gun before you leave the shop. Sounds obvious but, one M4 may need a different battery to another ( or any other gun ) so make sure you have the right one. 8. Buy a gun bag or slip, never carry gun uncovered n public or n a bag where the barrel or but may stick out. 9. Take you time think about it and don't rush out n by the first gun you see. At your budget you should get a good gun that will last you a good few years if you look after it. 10 Even at your budget a spring or hop up change may be a good idea, a good shop will advise you of this. IF however you gun is shooting at a legal power level this can easily be done at a later date. 11. Get out there with your new gun and enjoy yourself. Goodluck in your new hobby / financial drain.
