The local outdoor has been kicked off site twice in three years, and is getting less "local" all the time as it relocates further into the sticks.

Venomous Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 Sad news indeed, I first started playing CSW regularly with the DolphiN Team in 2002. Even when we moved back to Derby, I still came down - setting off at 05:30 in the morning.

Jaylordofwaargh Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 This was my first site, my favourite site. I often traveled down from London just to play. Great marshaling team, It is the woodland site I did a shotgun load out on and this still is one of best days plastic slinging. Most frustrating about this is that the next use of the site will involve tree felling, those that know the site know that there are many wide paths that need a little love...and a few boots that need rescuing. I won't be able to make the last games, but damn sure I'll be there for the first of the next site.

Stodgy Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Noooo absolutely devastated. By far and away my favourite site. Going to be a struggle now to work out where else to go as I love the format of the day, the long games and the staff/organisation.
Hatchet Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 We took the fort down yesterday. Just a big empty space there now, very strange. Front bridge and tower at the village is gone, Wendy house gone. The village mostly still stands, but I expect that will be another day's work. Having played there for around 20 years, I can't express quite how gutted I am by the loss of the site. This year has been... sub-optimal. Still, the one thing I do have confidence in is the CS staff. A new site is a question of when, not if. Can't say I'm going to enjoy the wait, but maybe it's time to visit some other sites in the meantime.

On that note I here Gilkicker is still available.... A site at Gilkicker Fort would be brilliant. Left field suggestion; Horse Sand Fort...? That would make for a pretty intense CQB setting. Getting 50 odd players over to it might be an issue though?
