Supporters Ian_Gere Posted November 14, 2013 Supporters Share Posted November 14, 2013 My main AEG. Yes,you know, the transition sight is useless for airsoft. no it isn't - just move your head, not tip the gun to an angle - there's no reason anybody can't aim over sights that aren't vertical AirsoftTed
CaptainSwoop
That's how a Bren Gun sights worked, the vertical magazine on a Bren means the sights have to be off to the side.

Supporters M_P Posted November 15, 2013 Author Supporters Share Posted November 15, 2013 They weren't at such a crazy angle though Doesn't matter, you cab still use these holding the gun normally so shouldn't have any adverse effect- though assuming the user is right handed, they would be better off on the other side of the rilfe Ian_Gere

CaptainSwoop
I would think though on an M4 with the sights off at an angle it would be best to tilt the gun so the sights are vertical, you will get a better sight picture and the fall of shot will be in line with the sight. The shot fired wouldn't be in line though- due to the hop up still in effect the bb fired would shoot off diagonal upwards to the left. Supporters jcheeseright Posted November 15, 2013 Supporters Share Posted November 15, 2013 indeed, on a REAL M4 canted ironsights are a great idea as a backup if you have a magnified sight on top since rifling doesn't care about alignment of the gun... on an airsoft gun though hop-up with f**k you in the ass. Supporters Ian_Gere Posted November 15, 2013 Supporters Share Posted November 15, 2013 Not at all. If you tilt the gun so the sight is vertical, yes, obviously; but if you simply aim over the angled iron sights, you're totally in business. We're not talking about trying to get good groupings, we're talking about hitting man sized targets at ranges where a magnified sight is a hindrance, ie right in front of you, ffs! Supporters TheFull9 Posted November 15, 2013 Supporters Share Posted November 15, 2013 Hop doesn't kick in immediately with a titled gun (at least when I've experimented) and if you're using canted irons/an RDS you'll only be aiming with that backup because somebody's too close for your other optic. There'll probably be a bit of 'dead ground' in between the maximum straight flight distance of your BBs with the gun canted and the minimum useful range of the primary optic, but that's not too big of an issue IMHO. CaptainSwoop
Rebuilt Classic Army M15A1. Added Magpul front end and Stock, shortened Barrel. Still have to change wiring to front end but I think a LiPo will fit in to the Stock Tube, there is even a little cover in the end of the stock that snaps on and off to allow access. TacMaster
If you remove the cover on the end of the buffer tube you'd probably be able to fit a small Lipo or stick Nimh in it. HSCtheta7
CaptainSwoop
It's already removed and I have measured it up for a LiPo already I will have to perform surgery somewhere to get the wires through.
CaptainSwoop
Here is the other CA just kept as I got it but refurbed. Not bad for a £12.50 gun.
CaptainSwoop
I got them when Gun Ho closed down they sold me two of their rental guns for £25. Cosmetics were a bit worn but the Gearboxes were still solid. I re-bushed and shimmed them, re-lubed and replaced one piston that had worn teeth. All good to go again. I sohuld add in the cost of the Magpul parts though

Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies
Ahhh, the Maru *CRRRRRRRRRRRRRKK CRKKKKKKKKKK* G *CRRRRRRREEEEEEee*. Nice piece of *CREEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAA*ame it's so *CRREEEAAAAAAAAAAAA* creaky and the charging handle isn't too strong so HK slaps ha *CRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEK* minimum. Seriously though, some company should get up off their arse and make a G3, not utilizing 20 year old standards and pot metal. And make it full steel. For maximum HK shlaps. And make a GBB one too. Or TM should make a recoil shock G3. I'd trust them to not make the cocking handle pot metal.
