Posted February 24, 201510 yr Hi all I'm alan I am looking to get in to the sport. I am based in Essex Only been looking at this for a little while and fancy doing it just don't know what to expect tho Thank all
February 24, 201510 yr Supporters Expect: Become fitter out in fresh air running around SKINT - coz you will always want more toys - 1 gun is never enough Annoyed - should of got into this yonks ago there are 3 things to expect but there's loads more there are some great guides up top and some really great guys on here too (not me coz I'm still a noob - but heck I'm having time of my life) we are all 12yr olds on here trapped in various older bodies young - adult - middle age - well past it (moi) - a right mixed bag some really good players and some not so good (moi again) Oh & welcome to forum
February 24, 201510 yr Author I don't have a problem with money spent most of it on my track bike no that's complete I have spare cash I always like the military scene and did go in the royals marines but failed the medical. What is game play like ?
February 24, 201510 yr Supporters Various - there a just mess about skirmish sites some a little more serious - and some much more serious/objective mil sim types mostly outdoors - woodland but some inside buildings or CQB even tunnels in near pitch black forget how accurate you might be at target shooting..... These sods move & shoot back and they are expecting you usually split into 2 teams and a variety of games with different objectives some very simple to keep things moving and some fun types some more involved - keep medic alive and eliminate enemy medic or pilot capturing bases/flags closest to flag - oh the list in nearly endless as various sites run different games according to what suits the area and the players enjoyment the odd game may seem pants if it don't seem to working but not often nearly all sites/memebers welcome new players the only thing is to listen to safety briefings and follow the more experienced player's lead or suggestions DBAD - Don't Be A Dick, is the general rule mag out when returning to safe zone (and clear gun) If you think you are hit - even elbow or toe - call it - shout HIT and go to dead zone/respawn We all have to try and play fair or the game just falls apart I still go negative quite often but f*ck ya COD K-D crap just go and have fun and DBAD think there is a site in Billericay but sure there are many more close to you read some New Player guides and check out a list of sites local to you pop along and get shooting

February 24, 201510 yr Book, pay and turn up mate, you'll never regret it and say 'why didn't I do this sooner'

February 26, 201510 yr Author What am i looking for in setup? if i end up liking it Just need to know what to get for basic setup
March 21, 201510 yr Author Hello again had my first game today and really enjoyed it we did have 2 people who had massive paddys but they didnt ruin the day Will have another one booked up at the end of the month looking forward to that
March 21, 201510 yr Hey mate glad u enjoyed it, im based in Essex too. Unfortunately some people take it too seriously arguments can happen its best to avoid those people. I guess you already know about UKARA and stuff so 2 more rental games and youre good to go
March 22, 201510 yr What am i looking for in setup? if i end up liking it Just need to know what to get for basic setup Welcome and glad you enjoyed your game, you're bound to see the odd "disagreement" at games, best to keep away from the argumentative types and just enjoy yourself. Regarding kit, first off is good eye protection be it goggles/full facemask, and a decent pair of boots which offer ankle protection, military surplus or walking boots are fine, or even high end military boots if you want/can afford them. Uniform can be anything from jeans and t-shirt up to high end military camo, whatever you fancy really (cheap brit DPM surplus camo is as good as anything for woodland games). For carrying your ammo, mags etc again massive choice from fixed configiration budget tac vests like Viper and Webtex through to a whole world of adaptable molle vests which you can set up to suit your needs. Places like Military1st are worth a look for these. As for guns most will recommend the G&G Combat Machine/CM16 range costing £120 upwards, however if you Google airsoft guns you will probably find some retailers (ones at top of search) with "BB" in the name, these are best avoided as although looking good prices most of what they sell is not considered good enough to skirmish with as many will atest. Places like Airsoft World, Zero1, Firesupport among others are a much better bet. Thats my look on it and others will no doubt have other suggestions, but if you link anything you're thinking of buying on here then you will get plenty of helpful suggestions I'm sure! :-)
March 22, 201510 yr Author Thanks for the replies the arguments were self inflicted if he put his hand up instead of telling his mate where the enemy was then it wouldnt of happened I will start looking at clothing and guns now i have the bug. i had to buy goggles there the full face was steaming up like mad and had to get glove my hads were freezing Best buy of the day them 2 as i was shot in the goggles twice and shot in the hand. :-)
March 22, 201510 yr "Best buy of the day them 2 as i was shot in the goggles twice and shot in the hand.:-)" In the goggles is quiet funny but the hands sting, last game I played in the cold & rain Got hit right on the tip of my nose and on my top lip, as it was cold, didn't feel it very much
March 22, 201510 yr Author I was shock on the force them bbs come at ya even with padding i felt them
March 22, 201510 yr Supporters I was shock on the force them bbs come at ya even with padding i felt them No excuse then to call your hits as they say think ya back is one place that stings a bit - hurts even more if its your own team.... "oh sorry m8" "Ouch ffs" under your breath you are saying - "Sorry - f*cking will be if ya do that again" soz - bit bored
March 22, 201510 yr When its close up they can sting a bit. Eventually you not only get used to it, you don't even mind it anymore. Eventually the fear of getting shot will fade away, the adrenaline will reduce and you'll be able to run around and shoot a lot more, making the plays that can break the enemy down without much fear but getting the same sort of buzz from it all.

"oh sorry m8" "Ouch ffs" under your breath you are saying - "Sorry - f*cking will be if ya do that again" soz - bit bored I had a team mate do that but he kept firing at me till the whistle blew then wondered why i was walking towards the base he was at then relised i was on his side Must of been colour blind
March 22, 201510 yr That's the problem with everyone pretty much looking the same, I think we should use a bit more than a Velcro arm band as some people cover them over
March 22, 201510 yr Supporters That's the problem with everyone pretty much looking the same, I think we should use a bit more than a Velcro arm band as some people cover them over Nope IMO. We should identify the target - that's part of the game. I oppose every step taken toward paintball.
March 22, 201510 yr Nope IMO. We should identify the target - that's part of the game. I oppose every step taken toward paintball. Fair enough but if people are observant enough at the beginning then you can tell who's opposing forces
March 23, 201510 yr No sometimes it get very confusing with who's who. The amount of times I've been shot by my own team or I've shot my own team is a lot.
