GoBald
Great to see a biker community here aswell I'm currently riding a 04 Bandit 600s, However I will get a KTM 690 Enduro R, as I found out the bandit is scary downhill and uphill on a muddy gradient and the 1190r is nearly 80kg's heavier. Guest PT247
enduro 690 will not be so nice on tarmac.... when after a duel use bike it is a world full of compromise unfortunately. I'd say try a supermoto if you are wanting best of both worlds.... my Husky 510SMR was awesome at everything but touring!

The best of both would be a 990 or 1190 adventure r but then they're both 20/30% heavier which is a lot on slippery slopes. I'll wait until my next years NCB anyways and see what I can afford, I might get the 1290 superduke never know
Guest PT247
lol, I'd not be taking the Superduke anywhere near green lanes! lol

Guest PT247
it does look a beastie..... My 1098 Ducati Streetfighter was of similar ilk as the Superduke. I really didn't get on with it tho which was gutting (and expensive).... on paper I loved it, but in the flesh it was awful.
GoBald
Looking at the specs and pictures KTM have solved all the issues that Ducati Streetfighter has. 1.Same on board computer as the 2013 1190 Adventure R with presets for most conditions 2.They've thought about comfort for all types of riders not just the average. 3.Combines ABS and great Brembo calipers 4.Long 15k Service intervals 5.Excellent fuel economy This is all on paper so again it could end up following Ducati to a painful but quick ride. gavinkempsell
Another old thread resurection...(it is nearly Easter after all). Pretty much had a bike most of my life from my 17th birthday when I bought my first, a Yamaha RS100T (silver), no CBT back then so it got dropped many times, replaced it with a Honda CB125 which I was eventually knocked off it by some guy in a cortina(I still have a dent in my thigh to this day), left my job so bought a boneyard Suzuki GT250 that I rebuilt out of parts from my girlfriends dad's garage, always had to bump start it as the kickstart never worked properly, a few years later I passed my test on a Honda CB125 which I then gifted to a friend & bought a Honda CB900F the very next day, almost killed myself a couple of times on this but it was stolen a few years later. Family dynamics led to my ex & myself both needing transport for work & I got a CB1000F as my commuter(the blue one), soon realised the bike was a luxury so it was garaged for about 6 years, by the time I was able to ride regularly again it was a costly repair so the red CB1000F was it's replacement but not practical for work so a Honda 650 Deauville took on this role. Ill health meant I had both CBR's & the Deauville off the rode for many years until I sold the last one around 6 months ago. Never been a 'biker' but always loved bikes & would happily have a mancave filled with desirables if I had the space... Honda CBX, Kawasaki AR125, Suzuki Katana 100 to name but a few. EDcase
That's quite a resurrection! 😄 1995 I started on a CBR 400RR, then a CBR 600F, then a GSXR 600 K4 Now its a KTM RC8 😍 Edited March 14 by EDcase gavinkempsell and DanBow 1
DanBow
I've been a biker for almost 30 years but never really been a photographer! Here's my bike, I've had it for 15 years and still think she's the most gorgeous bike ever produced. She's a Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird. In the fastest colour, Titanium. That's my youngest daughter on the back, just nipping a couple of mile down the road to a regular bike meet at The Raven, Whitchurch. gavinkempsell, EDcase and Tackle 1
