JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to AirsoftTed in The Whisk(e)y thread
I'm a Whiskey drinker, always have been. Plain and simple, (not that I advocate underage drinking but lets be honest most of us did it) even since I was young.
Being only 18, as you can imagine I'm exactly the stereotypical 50 something in a silk kimono sat in his study, but neither will most of you be; and it's dawned on me, I have no one to discuss whiskey with, nor do I know anyone else who drinks it!
So, what are you drinking, and how are you drinking it? Are you enjoying it? Would you recommend the drink? Give it a rating out of 10 and a bit of critique! Ask questions, let us know your usual and what you plan to try so we can help each other on our way to enjoying the finest the world has to offer!
Currently, I'm drinking Jack Daniels Old No. 2, neat with no ice.Somewhat harsh, don't know if it's been improperly stored or something but this particular bottle is nothing like any of the No.2 I've drank prior - but it was a present and I'd rather it be drank than go to waste. 6/10. Not the worst I've had nor the worst, good for a cheap dram.

I don't film indoors. Really don't want to break my GoPro- I know that it's unlikely, but you can never be too careful. I'll be using it as my main skirmish weapon from now on, and I'm going back to The Fort again in January, so I can get some stuff done on there.

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to Airsoft-Ed in On Site Briefs.
I can appreciate a long safety brief, so long as it's not read out in an incredibly dull way... Longer ones are generally the mark of a good site in my experience, but I'm talking long whilst being consistently to the point without any interruptions, not long because people ask a million questions or the marshal is verbose and rambles.
Tac House are a good example of this, their brief must last easily over 5 minutes but it's well presented and you always get the comedy groans when he says it won't take long. I think it shows they're passionate that the site is run correctly and I have a lot of time and respect for them for that.
The worst briefs I've ever had have all been at F&O sites, because the marshals make it plain that anyone who does anything wrong, whether minor or major, purposely or accidentally is, and I quote, "a twat" and I just don't appreciate their attitudes at all. They are marshalling me, not minding me like a child.
That said, short, sweet and to the point is also good, but I do not take well to the 30 second exaggerated version of "don't be a dick" I want to hear an actual brief that's been written down and learned, not just some random goings over of things that save time to mention before they actually happen.
Airsoft sites are after all, businesses. I expect a certain level of professionalism, and when I don't see that, I black mark the site. If they aren't going to take my business seriously, then they aren't going to have it. It's all well and good keeping the rest of the day light hearted, but a safety brief needs to be serious at heart and my heart and mind can be won and lost over the presentation of it.

Ello, my first post so please be gentle
my name is Steve, i am 41 and live in south essex. i have recently been given a box of airsoft/bb guns from my cousin he was clearing out when he moved.
i have acquired a handful of spring pistols, 2 of them are really cheap and nasty one of them seems ok and is quite accurate. also in the box was a cheap pump action shotgun and and AK47 springer replica that is really bad, along with a black viper g36c thats ok ish and a umarex g36c sportline that i am quite enjoying.
i used to shoot a lot when i was younger in the air cadets, and have air rifles on and off over the years but mucking about with these guns in the garden has sparked my shooting bug off again so thought i might delve into the world of airsoft as well as back garden plinking.
i hope i wont annoy you too much with my silly questions, but look forward to modding my toys as much as possible, i am a tinkerer already have some ideas for my g36c, the kids can have the black viper one.
sorry for the long post

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to Chock in Gun picture thread
Yup, MP40, but it's actually only a springer that I bought as a 'wall hanger' back in the days before the VCR Act was in force, although to be fair, it is a very nice model of one, albeit a bit on the fragile side. That was when websites would cheerfully post anything you liked to you without any questions over UKARAs and all that malarkey. I doubt I've even fired the thing more than about three times.

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to remus in "New" airsoft shop... What do you want to see?
i used to work in a nerd shop that shut down last year. they tried the whole casual coffee bar thing beside the shop and it could ave worked but not enough was invested in it and it helped to drag the rest of the business down. they tried to have consoles etc for a while but it not only cost money, it cost extra money( commercial retail tv licence) and helped to distract people away from their hobbys back to console gaming and not there fore spending monies on cards and models etc...
but if you do it tuck shop can do well for easy fast sell(so long as you have milk tea coffee coke and bars etc) tis amazing how much people will go through whilst they would think alot more about buying something useful...would be worth while to look up do any airsoft sites offer anything similar and how they make it work. have a clear advertised plan to pull people in on those nights. makes the difference believe me over we will see who comes and what they want to do. and a reason why they want to come to you and not do it from the comfort of their own home... if you ad people comming in to do demos of new stock/ their work(so local gun painters/ upgraders etc, new supplies) help to improve sales etc. if you can get the right to run a even have a warroom section to show your plans off get feed back etc. not that im a fan but bring your own drink lock in has proved quite effective a few times too combines with Halloween competitions etc
just cause in retail a couple of sofas and a console will seem a bit waste of space if its not done right...

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to Esoterick in Medal of honour: Warfighter.
Medal of Honor(2010) played a lot better than Warfighter both in single and multiplayer. It seemed to go from feeling like it's own game to a more generic style, whilst the buddy system was a good idea I didn't like the overall game.
