Defcon has them in as well. I’m definitely intending to pick one up. Do you have an ACRO mount?

VFC M16A2 And HK MP5SD GBB Barrel Replacement Required
Super64 replied to Super64's topic in Recommend a Tech
Yeah, that’s what I’ve been using, but it won’t budge. I’ve tried both ways and it’s not moving in the slightest. Which is making me think it’s locked on with some type of thread locker. -
I’ve tried to replace the outer barrel on my VFC M16A2 with a dna steel one, but I’ve come to a dead end as I can’t get the original barrel nut and delta ring off. I think it’s possibly down to loctite, but I’ve already damaged the delta ring and barrel trying to get them off and don’t want to plough on and end up damaging the receiver. So I’m looking for someone who has the skills and tools to remove the original barrel and fit the new one. I’ve ordered dna delta ring set from WGC, so it’ll be a couple of weeks before that arrives. I’m looking for a tech with a decent reputation that people can recommend. I’m in the North East, but happy to post at my expense. I’d also like to get a Crusader suppressor and steel barrel fitted to my VFC MP5SD. It looks like the barrel needs some material removed, so probably need someone with access to lathe. Give me a shout with a quote if you think you can help. Thanks.

Yeah, you’re right. It is SRC. I thought there was a VFC one, but looks like I was mistaken. It’s difficult to keep right when everything gets labelled Umarex. I think I’ll just hang on for a GHK.

I’m guessing most people here are familiar with Black Hawk Down, so mine’s probably pretty obvious. But, for those that don’t know, Super64 was the call sign of Micheal Durant’s MH-60 Black Hawk during Operation Gothic Serpent, the second Black Hawk to be shot down, which then became the location of Gary Gordon and Randy Shughart’s heroic action. I’ve always been interested in aviation as well as military equipment, and I’ve always admired the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. So, when I was looking for a username for the airsoft forums, Super64 just seemed to fit.

Has anyone been able to compare the GHK with the VFC Gen 5 MOS? If so, how do they compare? I’m torn between which one to get. I’ve watched a couple of reviews on line, but they all seem to be from stores, so it’s difficult to know how genuine the review is. The big plus for the GHK is the availability of a steel slide, which doesn’t seem to be an option for the VFC. But, VFC seem to be better shooting guns, especially compared the the previous GHK Glock.

Yeah, I’d be a bit hesitant as well if straight of the bat it was a case of, can you email me. Especially if it’s a new member, no, or very few posts and no feedback. Probably best to ignore those, or be very wary when dealing with them.

As someone who buys and sells on the forums quite a bit, I have done deals which have started out on the forum, but then moved to email. A few of my most recent sales have been done that way. There are a number of benefits to messaging back and forth via email. For me, it’s easier to read and reply to emails when at work or out and about than it is to keep going on line into the forum. Also, I find I can send more photos via email. I find that when I try to send a number of photos they’re often classed as too large, exceeding the data size limit. I make sure I do all my due diligence on the forum. Check the other parties forum history, feedback and make sure ukara and age are sorted, but there are benefits to using emails instead of forum messaging.

It’s a bit of a shame that they’ve abandoned the steel slide, but I’m guessing from a sales point of view, it’ll make it more competitive with the VFC and TM versions. I’m after an MOS Glock 17, so I’ll wait for some reviews on this before deciding whether to go with the GHK or the VFC. I’ll also have to weigh up the cost of the whole package, because I’ll be wanting a steel slide.
-
Unfortunately, there’s no specific details on the Facebook page. I know there’s some suggestion it was going to be an aluminium slide with a steel slide as an aftermarket. Also, from the picture, only Asia is getting the Cerakote. Which is a shame. And the mounting plate isn’t included. I would hope that would all be reflected in the price. With VFC also releasing a number of MOS variants, it’ll be interesting to see what’s the better option.

I’m looking for some suppressor hight iron sights for my M17. I’ve searched around and seen a couple of options, but just thought I’d check if anyone has used any and which brand? Also, where from?

I think in future 24hr is out of the question. I’ve used it a couple of times, but the vast majority has been 48hr, so I’ll stick with that. The removal of enhanced compensation is more concerning. Being in the North East, collection only seriously reduces my customer base as most buyers tend to be further south. As far as couriers go, Parcel Force are the most reliable and the only one seemingly willing to transport airsoft guns from private sellers. So I guess I’ll have to stick with them and hope for the best. So far, I’ve had no issues with them, so fingers crossed. I guess if there’s an issue, I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.
-
The enhanced compensation cover not being available is a little concerning. I’ve been sending RIF’s via Parcel Force for a few years and was aware of the requirements, but not that the enhanced compensation wasn’t available. I wonder if that’s a recent situation or if I’ve just missed it. I always pay extra for the compensation, but if they won’t pay out, I’m clearly wasting my money.
-
I’ve not had to claim for a lost rif yet, fingers crossed. But, they specifically state they are willing to carry RIF’s as long as they are taken to the post office and the staff are informed of what it is. Also, they should be sent via the 48hr service, although a few times the staff have recommended sending it via 24hr. The biggest hassle is explaining to the counter staff what an airsoft gun is. I usually say it’s similar to paintball. And when they ask the value, I’m always honest and pay the extra for the insurance cover. I have had an issue this week with a rif that was sent out via 24hr service on Monday, but didn’t arrive until today. So I’m potentially going to put a claim in for that. As far as Parcel Force not paying out on a claim for anything gun shaped, I can’t really comment. It’s definitely something worth looking into more. Is that confirmed or just hearsay?
-
I always use Parcel Force, mostly the 48hr service and they’ve always provided insurance up to the value of every gun I’ve sent. The most expensive was around the £800-£900 mark. Not sure if they insure stuff valued over £1000, but I don’t see why not. So far, Parcel Force have always delivered, usually within the 48hrs, sometimes quicker, and I’ve had no issues with items getting damaged or lost. I’ve never used DPD or any other courier to post RIF’s, so can’t comment on how willing they are to carry airsoft guns from private sellers, but I know some of the stores use them as well as UPS.

Ah, okay. As I said, I’m not fully up to date with what is coming. Guess I’ll have to keep an eye out for that one.
-
I think it may be some time before there’s an XM7. And there’s a good chance it’ll be even longer before TM does one. I’ve not seen any chatter about one in the pipeline, although, admittedly I’m not fully up to date with what TM, or other manufacturers have planned for the future. But, there was nothing at the recent airsoft show in Taiwan to suggest there are any due out, at least in the next year. To be honest, it’s not even guaranteed that most US Army units will get them yet. If I were you, I’d buy an M4 if you’re interested in getting one. Have fun with it and then sell it on if and when an XM7, or M7 as it will be, comes out.

Unfortunately, there’s not really anywhere in Newcastle to buy airsoft guns. There’s a couple of army surplus stores, Kommand Outdoors sells some guns I believe, but nothing of any note. I think they may be cheap air guns or something like that. I may be wrong. Ive only been in once and that was a few years ago. Bagnall and Kirkwood are an outdoors store with a decent selection of 4.5mm bb guns and air guns, but unfortunately no 6mm airsoft. There’s a definite lack of airsoft shops in the North East in general, not just Newcastle. Landwarrior is possibly the closest, and to be fair, they’re not really that close.

Yep, definately a DDM4 PDW. I've not seen it before so didn't piece it together, but looking at it, 100% match. I'm not sure if it's something i'd buy before my other planned purchases, but definitely interesting if you're an AR fan like I am.
-
So what do we think GHK have planned then? Picture from their Facebook page. Obviously some form of compact AR with a short, compact stock. It looks like it may also have an integral suppressor or something similar.

Any Black Friday deals worth bothering with?
Super64 replied to RostokMcSpoons's topic in Latest News
It’s £449.99 for the railed version. So it’s a great deal. Just can’t remember it ever being £629.
