The A2 style carry handle upper is the one hole in the GBB AR market. As a collector and an AR fan, there’s a gap in my collection that I would like to fill relating to early GWOT builds. Especially the M16/M203 combo.
-
Off the top of my head, there’s 3 guns I’d really like at the moment, obviously GBB’s: VFC MP5SD VFC M110K1 A GBB M16 or M4 with the A2 solid carry handle. Edit Also a full weight GBB M249. The feel of the VFC version is just wrong.

Make: VFC Gun/Model: HK417 version 2 Accessories: Z-Parts steel outer barrel, replacement VFC outer barrel, replacement VFC gas block Condition: Project FPS: Gas and temp dependent Splits/Swaps/Part Exchange: N/N/N Price/Payment: £350 posted and paypalled Pictures: Attached This is a bit of a story, but bear with me because I want to make sure a potential buyer has the full info. This was a brand new VFC 417 which I convert into a G28K. I then decided I wanted to return it to original, but the steel barrel extension that came with the Airsoft Artisan G28K handguard appeared to be fused to the original outer barrel. I attempted to remove it without any joy, pretty much destroying it in the process. As can be seen in the pictures. I decided to replace the original barrel with a Z-Parts steel barrel. Fits fine and feels great. The second issue I had was that the original gas block didn’t fit onto the steel barrel. The hop up is adjusted via the gas block and so because I could not fit the gas block, I could not put the hop adjustment back in. I attempted to widen the gas block with a Dremel, but couldn’t widen it enough. So I’ve bought a new VFC outer barrel and gas block. Unfortunately, I’ve now lost interest in the whole thing and so I’ve decided to sell it on. All the work has been done on the barrel. The internals have not been touched. Any more questions, PM me.£350

Unless all of the accessories are genuine, real steel items, genuine Peqs and Eotech’s etc, which they clearly aren’t, there is nothing here to justify £1000, never mind £5000. I wonder if he meant £500 and added an extra 0 by mistake.

You’re going to have an issue with most front sights if you run your NGAL right up against it, because the sight is going to need to attach to the rail, therefore there’s always going to be some form of mount to potentially get in the way of the laser. Obviously, the NGAL is narrow which limits your options. Either get rid of the iron sights and just run the laser, but you lose some flexibility without the front sight. Bring the NGAL further back up the rail, but depending on your grip type, you’re potentially going to block the laser with you hand. Mount the NGAL on a riser at the front of the rail, but you’re possibly going to block the front sight. Switch out the NGAL for a Peq 15 or something similar which is wider, but less Gucci. Or use something like a GBRS Hydra mount to mount your NGAL. The Hydra mount is something I’ve been trying out, but I’m still a little unsure if I totally like it or not.

It’s really nice, with good strong recoil. I’ve had a few A1’s and A3’s over the years, but always ended up selling them. I’m intending to keep this one and just finished putting my M203 on it. Just waiting for my trademarked lower coming from KYAirsoft and then it’s all done. As far as GBB M16’s go, for me, WE is the only real option. I think the Golden Eagle one is plastic and the only other option is to build one if you can find all the relevant parts. So if VFC are going to release a range of GBB M16’s, there’s definitely a gap in the market for them. There’s a clearer photo of them from VFC’s Facebook page today. Still can’t tell if they’re gas or not, but I’ve asked the question and waiting for someone to reply.

Ive just bought a WE M16A3 and an M203 launcher and Handguard set to do a build. If VFC are going to release one, then that’s definitely something I’d be interested in. A USMC style A4 would be great to have as well.

Some interesting photos on VFC’s Facebook page from their stall at TADTE 2023. Nothing close up or specific, but definitely an MP5SD and a bunch of M16’s. Hopefully all GBB’s. Looks like M16A1 with original and later handguards, also an M203 setup which would be awesome, and what looks like an M16A4. If these are GBB’s coming out next year then my bank account is going to be taking a hammering again. It’s a shame there’s nothing there with the A2 style carry handle though.

I guess I'm just going to have to put it down to experience. It's going to hurt for the next week or so, but in the grand scheme of things, it's not that big a deal. I was happy to pay the price at the time. I hate to think how much I've spent over the years and I'm guessing most of us are in the same boat 🙂

Bloody typical. I’ve been mulling over the idea of buying one of these ever since I saw them for sale on High Pressure Airsoft. No where else had them and so I debated backwards and forwards and eventually decided to take the plunge and got one around 2 weeks ago. It appears it was the last one they had in tan, because after I bought it the tan was showing out of stock. I felt pretty good about it, glad I hadn’t missed out. I felt even better about it when it arrived as it’s gorgeous looking and feels really good in the hand. Of course, that good feeling has reduced a bit when I see Defcon now has them in stock, £200 cheaper than what I paid at High Pressure Airsoft. More annoying is I was intending to wait until payday on 15th, but being an impatient sod, I didn’t wait. Could have saved myself £200 if I’d been less impatient. Oh well. The joys of our hobby I guess 😏

That’s unfortunate. I was looking forward to it coming out. Hopefully they’ll be able to sort out whatever the issue is with Umarex and get it released. The Gen 3 is nice, but my understanding is the Gen 5 was going to have improvements to the trigger. Guess it’s a case of watch this space.

The URG-I is the in thing at the moment, both in airsoft and the U.S. real steel market. So this will probably sell by the sack full, particularly in the U.S. If I hadn’t already built my own MWS based URG-I, I’d definitely be looking to get one of these. Personally I’d love TM to do a retro AR, fixed carry handle MWS, particularly with the A2 carry handle.

Accessory/Make: Airsoft Artisan G27K handguard with barrel nut, for VFC HK417 Condition: As new, but with Thread damage as described below Splits/Swaps/Part Exchange: N/N/N Price/Payment: £70 posted and paypalled Pictures: Attached This is brand new and was fitted to my VFC HK417 GBB, but I’ve decided to go back to the original style. It seems that the threads have been misaligned on the barrel nut and on the rail bolts as they have been damaged while fitting, as per the photographs, but both the barrel nut and the rail screws still screw on okay. Also comes with the gas block, which I forgot to add to the photos, but doesn’t come with the steel barrel extension as it’s currently stuck on the original barrel.£70

Do you wear a helmet? There’s a number of helmet mounted face protectors you can use. That would keep it away from your face, but still give you the protection you need.
-
Yeah, same here. I’d rather keep the steel barrel and try to widen the hole in the gas block to make it fit. The problem is I don’t have the tools to do the job properly and so I’ll end up bodging it and possibly irreparably damaging the gas block. I’ll have a look and see what I can do. It’s times like this that I wish I’d stuck with my machining YTS in the 90s instead of joining the army.
-
That’s what I thought. So it suggest the issue is the Z-Parts barrel is thicker and so I have to decide whether to try to alter the gas block, or buy another original barrel.

Make: VFC Gun/Model: M249 Accessories: Leak free stanag magazine Condition: As new FPS: Gas and temperature dependent Splits/Swaps/Part Exchange: Will consider a swap for a VFC M110K1 GBB Price/Payment: £730 posted and PayPalled Pictures: Attached Bought brand new and arrived around a week ago. I was really looking forward to getting this, but was a little concerned regarding the lightweight. When it arrived I was actually disappointed as it is unrealistically light. It looks great and it is very satisfying to have that recoil, but I can’t get over how light it feels and I think I’d probably prefer to have a heavier A&K or Classic Army. I bought this to add to my collection and not use in game, but I can see how this will be very usable in game due to its lightweight. I’ve ordered the retractable stock, front rail and foregrip, but these haven’t been sent yet. The rail is out of stock. I’m trying to cancel those items, but if they are still posted I can add these to the sale for an extra £130 posted when they arrive.£730

Is there a difference between the VFC 417 V1 and V2 gas blocks? I’ve damaged the original outer barrel on my V2 and so I decided to replace it with a Z-Parts steel outer barrel, but the gas block doesn’t fit. It seems that the gas block narrows towards the front and so it slides on, then jams. Is this the same with the V1 gas block? Am I better off sacking the idea of the steel barrel and get another original barrel? Has anyone any experience with fitting a Z-Parts steel barrel too a V2 417?
