  1. The enhanced compensation cover not being available is a little concerning. I’ve been sending RIF’s via Parcel Force for a few years and was aware of the requirements, but not that the enhanced compensation wasn’t available. I wonder if that’s a recent situation or if I’ve just missed it. I always pay extra for the compensation, but if they won’t pay out, I’m clearly wasting my money.
  2. I’ve not had to claim for a lost rif yet, fingers crossed. But, they specifically state they are willing to carry RIF’s as long as they are taken to the post office and the staff are informed of what it is. Also, they should be sent via the 48hr service, although a few times the staff have recommended sending it via 24hr. The biggest hassle is explaining to the counter staff what an airsoft gun is. I usually say it’s similar to paintball. And when they ask the value, I’m always honest and pay the extra for the insurance cover. I have had an issue this week with a rif that was sent out via 24hr service on Monday, but didn’t arrive until today. So I’m potentially going to put a claim in for that. As far as Parcel Force not paying out on a claim for anything gun shaped, I can’t really comment. It’s definitely something worth looking into more. Is that confirmed or just hearsay?
  3. I always use Parcel Force, mostly the 48hr service and they’ve always provided insurance up to the value of every gun I’ve sent. The most expensive was around the £800-£900 mark. Not sure if they insure stuff valued over £1000, but I don’t see why not. So far, Parcel Force have always delivered, usually within the 48hrs, sometimes quicker, and I’ve had no issues with items getting damaged or lost. I’ve never used DPD or any other courier to post RIF’s, so can’t comment on how willing they are to carry airsoft guns from private sellers, but I know some of the stores use them as well as UPS.
  4. Ah, okay. As I said, I’m not fully up to date with what is coming. Guess I’ll have to keep an eye out for that one.
  5. I think it may be some time before there’s an XM7. And there’s a good chance it’ll be even longer before TM does one. I’ve not seen any chatter about one in the pipeline, although, admittedly I’m not fully up to date with what TM, or other manufacturers have planned for the future. But, there was nothing at the recent airsoft show in Taiwan to suggest there are any due out, at least in the next year. To be honest, it’s not even guaranteed that most US Army units will get them yet. If I were you, I’d buy an M4 if you’re interested in getting one. Have fun with it and then sell it on if and when an XM7, or M7 as it will be, comes out.

  11. Unfortunately, there’s not really anywhere in Newcastle to buy airsoft guns. There’s a couple of army surplus stores, Kommand Outdoors sells some guns I believe, but nothing of any note. I think they may be cheap air guns or something like that. I may be wrong. Ive only been in once and that was a few years ago. Bagnall and Kirkwood are an outdoors store with a decent selection of 4.5mm bb guns and air guns, but unfortunately no 6mm airsoft. There’s a definite lack of airsoft shops in the North East in general, not just Newcastle. Landwarrior is possibly the closest, and to be fair, they’re not really that close.
  12. Yep, definately a DDM4 PDW. I've not seen it before so didn't piece it together, but looking at it, 100% match. I'm not sure if it's something i'd buy before my other planned purchases, but definitely interesting if you're an AR fan like I am.
  13. So what do we think GHK have planned then? Picture from their Facebook page. Obviously some form of compact AR with a short, compact stock. It looks like it may also have an integral suppressor or something similar.

  16. It’s £449.99 for the railed version. So it’s a great deal. Just can’t remember it ever being £629.
  17. I’m tempted by Defcon’s sale price of the TM MWS. £449.99 is a good price, but when did they have it for sale at £629.99? The last time I bought one from them, in February this year, it was £542.99 and I’m sure the price has always been in the £500’s. It does look like a more impressive discount, but I’m not sure it’s ever been £629.99. Unless they increased the price just before the sale.
  18. THIS ADVERT IS 'UNCOMPLETED' - THIS MEANS THE ADVERTISER HASN'T BUMPED THIS LISTING, BUT IT COULD STILL BE WORTH CONTACTING THEM.

I’m looking for a VFC M27 IAR GBB if anyone is looking to sell. I’m not after the AEG or a standard 416 as I’ve already got one. PM me if you’re looking to do a deal.

    NO VALUE SPECIFIED

  19. I’ve not got a PTS Griffin suppressor, but I have been interested in getting one. All the sights I’ve been looking at say that it’s compatible with the TM A2 flash hider, so as long as it’s the flash hider that came with the gun, you should be fine.

  22. I’m sure the insurance company would have something to say about a dog being in the game zone and the potential for someone to be bitten. I doubt it’s mentioned in the policy. It’s one thing for the dog to be in the safe zone, but in the playing area, with the potential for it to get hurt is just stupid and negligent. As mentioned above, we all go knowing we’ll get hit and it’s going to hurt. The dog, on the other hand, has no idea. I’m guessing we’re not talking about some well trained land shark here.
  23. I know what you mean. The last thing you want to be doing is lugging that weight around the airsoft field and I can see why VFC went that route. But, as a collector, having a full weight, GBB M249 in my collection would be awesome. That looks spectacular. Is it a full Lambda build or is it Lambda parts on and A&K or Classic Army? Do Lambda parts fit on the VFC?
  24. As someone who’s owned a few different manufacturers GBB M4’s at one time or another over the years, for me Tokyo Marui is the one to go for. I’m very similar to you in that mine are collection pieces, with a few rounds put through them every now and again. Therefore, looks and feel are more important than performance and Tokyo Marui cannot be beaten. The Cerakote finish is spot on and it just feels right. Both weight and quality are top notch. Also, the performance is better than most. There’s also plenty of upgrades available. Personally I’d leave the internals alone, other than an Angry Gun heavy buffer and HAO steel bolt end to increase the felt recoil if you want more recoil. If it’s only going to be lightly used, the extra pressure from the heavy buffer and bolt end shouldn’t cause to much of a problem. I’ve had no problems with any of mine so far, (touch wood). There’s loads of external options as well. Rail upgrades and the like. As far as other manufacturers go: WE - Decent enough products, cheaper than TM, but if you want trademarks you’ll either have to buy from Asia and hope there’s no issues with customs, or buy a trademarked lower receiver and switch the blank lower out. VFC - Difficult to get hold of a VFC M4A1 these days although MK18’s, XM177’s and the 733 are available. But, it just doesn’t feel as nice as the TM. I love VFC stuff and their internal build quality is much better than it was, but I prefer a TM. GHK - If it’s a standard M4A1 you’re after, you’ll end up with one with Navy SEAL markings on the receiver instead of Colt trademarks. They now do the URG-I version and the MK18 which both have Colt trades, but, by all accounts, GHK’s quality control isn’t as good as it was. Golden Eagle - I’ve not had any experience with. I think they may have plastic receivers. I may be wrong, but I think that’s the case. Also, I don’t think they have trademarks. Double Eagle - I’ve got the Noveske N4 and it is nice. Comes with TM style internals. But, I don’t think they do an M4A1 and I’ve not had a good enough look over it to judge the quality of the internals. The externals look great though. For me, personally, if I’m planning a build, I’ll go for a TM if I know the parts I need are available. If you’re after a GBB that feels great out of the box, that you can just unbox and manipulate and be happy with, but also upgrade if you want, I think you can’t go wrong with the TM. (And no, I don’t work for TM. 😉)
