  1. Thanks B, will check them out. Friz, is it a splice-in connection, or is it an extra part with a female/male bit that just extends it a bit? And is it Tamiya or mini Tamiya? I will probably end up wiring in a switch, as I often forget to disconnect batteries from my guns; plus, there would be some areas (or if I want to be ninja) where I would prefer to have it off, but have the option to turn it on. Also, some places say that it isn't great as a hop unit including Lozart on here (but not from first-hand experience). Do you agree with this, or is it fine (not looking for an amazing unit as I may be forced to sell everything if I am heading stateside in a few months). My current hop is pretty poor, so it probably needs replacing anyway, and I figure I can kill 2 birds with one stone here. *Edit: Just saw that you said you didn't have the LED part, so if you can't answer anything in the first part, don't worry.
  2. Hello all, Those of you who have looked at the recently purchased thread recently will know I have an interest in these, specifically this one: http://airsoftzone.co.uk/ultimate-3-in-1-hop-up-chamber-unit-with-tracer-led-module-for-m4-m16-series-madbull I am unsure on installation, however, and have a few questions; 1. What battery does this connect to? The one the gun uses? 2. What connector type is it? Tamiya, Deans, etc. 3. How easy would it be to wire a switch into it? 4. Has anyone ever used these, and if so, would you recommend it for The Mall, or something similar? Thanks, Spaz
  3. Yea, but with the cost of one mag equal to that for the hop, I would probably just get the hutu.
  4. haha, I was thinking we had kinda disrupted the thread....
  5. im big on CAD/CAM and computer design manufacture. Based my IB diploma around it as well, and have been doing it with Autodesk Maya, ProDesktop, and Solidworks for four years in Singapore and here. Also, as some of you will probably like to hear, I have been to the main Safariland plant in Florda and met with the designers there (thats why I know Bill Rogers amd have so many Safariland products).
  6. based off my career options and wants, I am torn between Richmond uni here, and either FIT or UCF in Florida. Also, I have an open offer for an internship in florida, but whether I decide to do that year-round, or just over the summers, i do not yet know
  7. Im in Sunningdale, as you should know Lozart (think UGL). Its nice here, and I dread moving back to the US for uni, as I dont wnt to lose my sport
  8. haha, not forces. my dad works for Abbott Labs, which is a big pharmacutical (pardon my spelling, my ipad doesnt do autocorrect) company, and he keeps getting promoted, so we move every two years or so. I lived in five states by the time I was five, but we set up in Tennessee for 8 years. Singapore was our first overseas move, and now we are about to start our fourth year here in the UK.
  9. although I am American, I have been living elsewhere since I was 12. Math was a typo, or mybe autocorrect. And its just habit to call it high school, as my US and Singapore schools both called it that, and my current IB school has PYP, MYP and IBDP, not primary and secondary school.
  10. I already have a B&T tracer; my issue is that it is just a touch too wide; these probably will be too. and I know the hop isnt part of the gearbox; just havent messed ariund with my new M4s internals besides rewiring it.
  11. Hmm... Gonna need to sell a few more organs to be able to get anything right now, but who knows, I sometimes babysit for some rich people . Might get lucky. Anyway, I only have experience with one AEG gearbox (from a P90, which is considered to be the easiest to work with, yet still took me more than an hour to get the stupid spring to hold still long enough for me to jam it all back together...), so I'd have to find some sort of in depth tutorial explaining how to do this, else I would fudge it up...
  12. With a price tag that high (unless there is something I'm missing), it better allow you to levitate, see through walls, bend pellets mid-flight, and project a force field around you...
  13. Gosh darnit, spending too much... Just got a few more things... Vegetato set from Airsoft_Mr B, £30, a new ZCA 60 rnd 40mm grenade (brings total up to three), £22, a basic coyote tan double 40mm grenade MOLLE pouch, £7, WE Nuprol 4.0 gas (black), £17, WE Nuprol 2.0 gas (green), £12, ICS folding foresight, £22, and about to order a custom Velcro patch with Spaz and Rogers on it (if I can still afford it). Oh, and a mock silencer that fits my new M4A1 from BigAl, as my B&T tracer is about 1/8 of a mm too large... Shame, I guess not tracer for me... There's now an extra 6000 tracer round sitting around my room :/
  14. just like when people ask about good basic M4s, and people go off about G&Gs, i will go off about Safariland. They make a very nice ofset light tht is amberdexterious and is adjustable to fit your hand size for not too much. No extra functions, but thats my reccomendation. think its called the rail lite
  15. My w700 kitted out, nice btw snake, I went with woodland on the stock, not barrel, but to each his own. It's a uhc w700 with a TM VSR 10 rail, a ZOS 2-6x32AOE scope, with an Emerson two point sling, black cheek rest with pouch and elastic for 12 rounds, mine are inert 30 06 rounds that have been repressed, not hammered, making them look more realistic. *Edit Not quite sure why that scope pic keeps flipping... Oh well...
  16. Sights, grips, etc are almost universal. They all fit RIS rails. Of course, the guns need to have RIS rails. But both of your options have them. Most mags will fit all of the same type, but not all.
  17. And who said you wouldn't need math outside of high school...
  18. I'll throw my thoughts down here... I've got sort of a unique background when it comes to airsoft, as very few teens have the equipment I have, and fewer the expirence. I grew up shooting, and got into sniping after I bought a w700 rifle. Got a gillie suit from a military friend in the States, and spent a few years doing very well in manhunt games at my scout camps. So I got the stealthy waiting part down. Now in terms of guns, I am realitivly poor with my sniper, as I've only just started upgrading it. I've gotten a sight on mine, as well as a good woodland camo finish on it, but it is stock inside, as I can't figure out how to open the frikken thing... I will have to get a better spring, and ammo (blaster .3g go through the roof still) and it's probably only shooting around 300 FPS due to a poor spring. So I need a lot of work before I'd even consider trying to use it on the field. Now, in my backyard with some mates, I'm the terror of the bushes, and their orange two tone guns make it easy for me to spot them (insert evil laugh here). So yea, not good to start out with. If you still think it may be for you, go to your fav site, and during games, look for locations you would like to use a rifle in. Formulate scenarios in your head during games, and maybe one day get a gun, throw a large amount of cash at it, and see how it goes. Just not yet. Rant over
  19. It's the week before my finals begin... Sooooooo not happy I can't make it
  20. Ok, yea, tape is usually good; I have camo duct tape I could use if necessary. My 9.6v batteries could fit in a 12x4x2 internally sized box, however, I'm also gonna give BigAl's guy a ring and ask him about the handguard batteries, as it's a Madbull TRX rail with a keymod system, so I don't currently have any rails for it...
  21. Alrighty, that works fine for me; as long as it will fit this battery. If not, BigAl has pointed me to a guy who makes (or at least stocks) batteries that fit my handguard, so if I need new batteries I'll go his route, but if mine can fit any PEQ box I'll get the box.
  22. Get an 18+ mate to go for you . Or just wait a bit, that's what I had to do.
  23. Hello all, I recently purchased a really nice rifle from BigAl; a G&P/Star/Madbull M4A1 AEG. I've already done quite a bit of work on it in the 6 hours I've had it, changing the connector from Deans to mini Tamiya, changing the path the wires take from the gearbox to the connector (the way it was wired had the cable interfering with the magwell) and changing the location of the connector exit point. However, this is my first proper frontally wired gun, and as such, I am unsure how to mount the battery. As stated, I use mini Tamiya style batteries, and need to attach them by RIS rail to the front of the gun. I know a little about PEQ boxes, but afaik you need special batteries to fit them. Also, I have seen battery sling looking things, again, pic below, but they look rather cheap. Any advice is welcome; I've already spent most of my cash (check the recently bought thread), so would like to keep this as cheap as possible, without compromising quality too much. The first pic is the kind of PEQ I would like to get, but a nicer one than that, it's just a visual example. The second seems to be a longer PEQ, and the third is the only example of a battery sling I could find on amazon.co.uk.
  24. Tempted, could get mine done today, as it's near me right now
