It's only ok if you send it to me first so I can make sure you really want it

No, i havent. never actually seen a tracer mag, but ive necer really looked. I would guess it would combine a bit: my hutu is mounted on the left side of my hop, so if the LED in a tracer mag was on the right it should work well. My B&T is also really bright, more so than most B&Ts I see, so maybe I got the luck of the draw on it. The wiring is just really in excess, I would figure out what length you need and cut it down to size. Once I did that it only takes a minute to switch out if I dont have the switch bolted down, which it is atm, so not an east switch. My hop is giving my issues right now, but its old; didnt realise the gun I bougt already had the correct hop in it, so Ive got a brand new extra one I might have to throw in to correct that.

Don't know about the spring change, but I would think the gun itself is reliable. Mag price, well, consider the amount of ammo you would use (for me at The Mall I early use more than 200 rounds per game, so it's not an issue), and go from there.

New to airsoft. Play mainly cqb. What do I get first.
SeniorSpaz87 replied to Dallin1991's topic in New Players & Arrivals
OK, first things first. By new, do you mean you just played your 1st game, or new like it's been a year? Do you have a UKARA number? What's your price range? Do you have anything besides your L96 (which isn't good in the first place if you do mainly CQB, duh)? -
Whenever I see a Scorpion at The Mall, I have to move safe-zone rooms as I'm afraid I'll start drooling.
-
I'll throw my +1 to AB on that, I have 6 different types of Blasters, all are good.

Hello, I'll run you through the basics. DBAD (don't be a d***) with airsoft guns Don't buy from anywhere with bb in the name Buy a G&G raider / combat machine for your first gun Enjoy I think that's it, you never have to read another comment on this thread again (Jk)

Well of course. In May I will get my UKARA registration, as I just need one more game. Although I have site registration / a provable defence, this only really works for second hand guns; can't get anything new until then. Might import from the Asia site, is this worth it? I know to have them put the UKARA number on the outside of the packaging.

Want. If I get another gun in this country, it will be this

I own two WE GBBs, a P226 and a G17. The P226 is from here, and the G17 I had someone buy and make a custom slide for it in the US, then got it shipped over here. I like the G17, I feel that full auto pistols are kinda redundant, as you go through ammo too fast, and if you want to go full auto, why not just use your primary?... However, this doesn't really answer your question. I can see how the G18 could have issues with broken parts. The blowback on these is rather impressive, and my G17 got its nozzle broken before it even had a full mag through it. It turns out the part was faulty and an easy fix, and since then it's been great. However, I f it was full auto, I could see where issues could arise. I doubt barrels are snapping, but parts of the nozzle or gas chamber I could see breaking, as they are plastic (but decent plastic). So anyway, it comes down to personal choice. Us here in the forum shouldn't tell you what to get; we shall just advise and complement you on whatever you choose (yea right...). It also depends on where you play, how you play, etc. For CQB, a G18 could work better than some for going pistols only, but going through ammo would be a pain. Also, some sites don't allow full auto only weapons (only CQB sites afaik) For woodland sites I don't think it would work as well, as pistols lack the range to compete at distance with rifles. I guess a gradual spray upwards could land a hit, but it wouldn't be worth it if that's your gameplan. One last thing to consider; WE guns often don't fit real holsters. I had the guy I got to do my custom slide make a Safariland ALS holster for it at the time he did the slide. Afaik it's one of two made for WE G17s, but the new Safariland ProFit 578 holsters will fit all modern airsoft guns anyway, so not much of an issue there.

Welcome, glad you like it

Bulldogs are meh, but can't really comment beyond that. Also, don't buy from JBBG, or from any sites with bb in the name. Check this forum's places to buy section if you want to know why...

My M4A1 (semi)build is now finished. Saying its a semi-build as the receiver, hand-guard, and gearbox were already together. Put a Rogers Super-Stoc on the back, mounted a few rails to the TRX rail, rewired it from deans to mini-Tamiya, replaced the old hop unit with a new one, added a Madbull Hutu, spliced it into the existing wiring, spliced in a switch, broke the switch which fried the Hutu ground wire, replaced the Hutu ground wire, spliced in a new switch, bolted it all down, took it apart again (due to the wiring preventing the magazine from seating), simplified the wiring, put it back together, and it's working well now. So what's here? This M4A1 is from BigAl, so it's got a G&P receiver with Colt trademarks, a Star gearbox, Madbull Ultimate Hop Unit + tracer, Rogers Super-Stoc, Rogers GripPod with added RIS rails, Safariland torch, fake PEQ box for battery (soon to be replaced by another that is on its way), a decent green laser (too lazy to look up the brand), a GoPro bar mount, a GoPro RIS mount (not pictured), a Madbull version of the Troy TRX hand-guard with Troy trademarks, a Safariland single point harness, a Wilson Combat dual mag coupler, an ICS folding front sight, a TruGlo RDS, and a foam filled silencer which actually does bring down the noise some. I can also switch the GripPod out for a DBOYS M203 UGL if I am playing CQB. *Edit Moving this here from Loadouts, don't know why I posted it there in the first place.

Alrighty then, My new M4 couldn't fit my usual tracer/mock silencer, the B&T unit. As such, I looked into both tracer mags and Hutus. This seems to be the way to go, unless you want to DIY it. So... What's in the box? There are two options here. The first is to buy the Madbull Hutu for around £60, which includes a Madbull hop unit as well as the tracer unit. The second is to just buy the unit if you already have the hop unit. The tracer part of the set is quite simple, with only four parts. These are: the tracer chip + LED and connected wires, a second set of wires that plugs into a socket on the first, and two little one way rings that hold the tracer to the hop. Installation: simple. Plug wire 2 into wire 1, set on hop, push rings onto two poles that are part of the hop, splice into battery wires. Wiring: not simple. Almost all online reviews say this is a simple product to install. It is. What isn't easy is dealing with all the wires. For front wired guns, the socket is too large to fit through the hole, so you either need to accept the mess of wires stopping your mag from seating, or accept that your gun's receiver and outer barrel are connected for good. I don't believe this will be as much of a problem for rear wired guns. Operation: simple. If your battery is plugged in, the Hutu will be on. Pros: Internal. This allows for shorter guns, great for cqb guns. No more forgetting to bring AAAs for your tracer, as it uses the gun's battery. Simple installation. Cons: Dimmer. Not quite as good as most silencer/tracers, as the light only shines on one side of the pellet, not all around like silencer/tracers Wires. Everywhere. Only fits M4s and M16 (can probably be modified to fit others) Always on. Although it uses so little battery this isn't really an issue. Possible upgrades: There isn't much, as this needs the Madbull hop to work. You could modify another hop to work with it though. One thing that I personally did was wire in a switch to turn the unit on and off. For pics, check out my M4A1 in the Loadout section from today.

SeniorSpaz87 replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Well, I am actually done, not that I dont want to buy everything I see... The thing is that I may be moving after summer, and as such, would have to sell most of my stuff. So holding back until I know. -

Madbull hutu unit, Nuprol black gas, we green gas, abbey 144a gas (not maintenance), custom patch, MP5 style PEQ box. Airsoft spending: done (until after summer). -
Hello, and welcome. In terms of female airsofters, yall are a rarer breed. Saying this, ther has always been at least one female player at every game I have attended, so you may find some showing up to games you attend. I will suggest (as will everyone on here) that before you buy anything, go to a couple of games and get a feel for the sport before you spend too much. Airsoft can be an expensive sport as well, so make sure its right for you before you buy. As you are new, I assume you do not know about VCRA or UKARA, ill let some of the more expirenced people on here tell you about those.I do not know of sites in your area, but someone will. So in conclusion, hi, welcome, rent first, buy later, and enjoy

Yes, I see your point. However, I already own a B&T tracer, and the only reason i would get a new tracer would be specifically for this M4. The B&T fits on all my guns bar this one, so if my M4 went out, I would just grab one of my other two guns, and screw the b&T onto them. Also, my M4 needs a new hop, as its current one isnt good enough. So I can get a hop and tracer in one.

If you want, I can go strip down mother M4 and post pics; I don't believe there is any defining features of the part that would make it easy to ID; I'll also ask Al if he knows what it is. *Edit Here is a quote from the selling page, it might say what the barrel make is: " This time we have a G&P Body featuring Colt M4A1 trades, inside is a Star Gearbox. This has a CQB length outer barrel fitted with a Prometheus Black Python inner and a short stubby ccw/cw reversible silencer."
-
My M4A1 I got from BigAl. It has a Star gearbox in a G&P receiver. Right now, this looks like my best choice for tracers, as long as it will fit. Just need to come up with a few more £, unfortunately won't probably arrive until next week; would like to play with it this weekend, as we have a 4 day weekend due to conferences.

Yea, I know. Both the sites I was looking at (airsoftworld and where B recommended sell it as the hop and tracer together).
