  1. Unless it's a shotgun or sniper, springers are generally not worth the hassle in a skirmish. Poor rate of fire and lower fps being the main cons against them. That said they can be a great "novelty" gun (in a loose sense) at spring or gas only games
  2. You forgot to add "it's fully metal" on there jambwow haha On topic: I wouldn't mind picking people up if needed but I'd only have space for another two people in my car (three guys with rifs and camping gear takes up a lot of space). Obviously it would have to be along the route and not out of the way
  3. I was thinking flags personally - attached to someone's PC/back pack proudly telling the world who they are and where they are haha
  4. Be a great event if you could pull it off, though it's going to take a lot of work. Will need to "borrow" some marshals from somewhere to regulate the game or have some of our members volunteer for it. I'd definitely be up for it though so long as it's not a long drive away. Some people may have to stay over the night before so that's something to consider if we're camping. Plus you have security to worry about - i.e. locals not breaking into cars whilst we're all shooting each other.
  5. If you don't mind a project gun then I'd say the BAR. For something more useful then the Glock is the smarter choice.
  6. F&O's new CQB site in an old mental hospital. First time I've gone myself but from what I've heard/seen on YouTube it's looks a cracking site.
  7. Welcome to the site mate! Fair few of us from Leicester (or nearby like me) so might see you in game some time. Definitely will if you're at The Towers tomorrow haha
  8. I second the request for a link. Never seen people get into an actual fight at a skirmish, but I've seen a few get mightily close to doing so. It's just a game, but that gets harder to remember with the adrenaline flowing mid game.
  9. For intense CQB (i.e. Office blocks, lots of nooks and cranny type sites) then I wear one of these: http://www.ebairsoft.com/wire-mesh-templar-mask-black-tb562-p-6921.html Gives me a wider field of vision than most other "Army of Two" style masks yet completely protects my face and ears. I've had it since I started and despite a few chips/battle scars it has never failed me. Will be using this at my next game at The Towers in Leicester on Saturday. For everything else I run a pair of these: http://www.tactical-kit.co.uk/smith-optics-elite-boogie-regulator-goggle-10085-p.asp Lenses are tinted in the "Igniter" (red) colour and I use it with a lower mesh mask and a hat/helmet of some description. Never had an issue with fogging and is rated to take hits from things beyond what you'd see at an airsoft event (I hope haha) Sometimes I combine the two at woodland sites (mask + goggles) if people are using cheap bio BBs since these are more prone to shattering.
  10. Someone's done that mate. They took a regular MP7 and rebuilt the body for it. Think it was on one of the Halo cosplay forums so it might be with having look around on google I really want one as well haha
  11. ICS mp5s are pretty good guns - a very good choice mate.
  12. Side effects also include giggling like a girl when you first fire it
  13. Yeah decent face protection (eyes especially) should be your first purchase. I personally use these combined with a mesh lower face mask: http://www.tactical-kit.co.uk/smith-optics-elite-boogie-regulator-goggle-10085-p.asp Rated to withstand impacts that are way beyond what you'll experience in any regulated airsoft game and doesn't fog like some goggles due to the venting system (never had mine fog up). Mesh is great but cheap BBs can shatter on impact - had this happen a few times when I used a mesh set up - but it's your call. Oh and welcome to the site mate
  14. I can attest to marui hop units being very good. Very easy to install but can be quite tricky to get a hold of. Tightbores barrels are great but you'll also get an fps increase anywhere up to 10 by installing one so take care doing so doesn't knock you over your sites fps limit.
  15. Mp5: I had the ICS Sportline (Plastic) MX5A5 and it was cracking rifle for £130~ and the high cap mags supplied with it fed well They do a proline metal version that includes a burst fire option but I've never used it so can't comment on that. In terms of effectiveness it's down to how you play. For CQB I'd personally take an mp5k since they're shorter and are a lot lighter. If I had some spare cash I would have one of these just for a CQB loadout: http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/marui-high-cycle-mp5k-airsoft-gun-aeg For longer range games a full length mp5 would be better since a stock will increase your accuracy. Like this: http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/marui-high-cycle-mp5-a5-with-drum-mag-airsoft-gun-aeg Both of these are high cycle guns so you'll be hitting up to 30 rounds per second on a lipo battery which is a beastly rate of fire.
  16. My bad I missed that part of your post
  17. He's not 18 mate from what he said. You could get an adult to buy it and then gift it to you for a birthday/finishing school present but it would have to be two toned due to your age and lack of a defence.
  18. Cheap double rifle bag I got off eBay for £15. Despite how slim it is it's like a tardis - holds my shotgun, aug, 2 pistols, mags for all guns, vest, gloves, eye/mouth pro and two bottles of BBs/gas. Only thing that doesn't fit is my fast helmet.
  19. Save up the extra and get this: http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/marui-recoil-416d-airsoft-gun-ebb-aeg Or any of the recoil variant - you won't be disappointed. Has the recoil feature of a GBB combined with the ease of use of an AEG. Plus it's a TM - it'll last forever if you give it a little attention now and then. Stock fps is around 280 (average for a TM rifle) but the excellent hop system means you'll outrange a lot of other "pro line" rifles. Like flex said though, shop around at different sites. Fire-support are brilliant but there are a lot of cheaper sites on the net. Off topic: I always found fire-supports site easier to use since their mobile site is much more user friendly than lwa's on my iPhone.
  20. Better than most kids in this country haha
  21. Damn mate that's bad :/ Most people seem to have forgotten that that war is still going on
  22. So you have seen the light haha I'm kidding of course lol. Hope you enjoy your new hobby and welcome to the forum
