Combat machine, hands down. Using a shotgun is a completely different playstyle to using an AEG and isn't as forgiving. Later on when you get a feel for airsofting then consider buying one.

I'd personally go with the ASG MK23 like a previous poster suggested. Sure it may not be as cheap as the CM.030 (spare mags are £26 each) but it's a heck of a lot more practical for either woodland or CQB sites than the electric. Plus the stock batteries you get with the .030 will only last half a day (less if it's your main gun).

Not had the Desert Eagle, but I've had the glock and it was a cracking little pistol despite the low fps. Get a lipo upgrade in it and you'll have a very reliable sidearm for all seasons - Airsoft World sells a "pre made" one if you don't fancy doing the work yourself. The battery life/quality is the only downside I had with my glock - one lasted barely half a day. If you go for these then don't bother with the CYMA mags, just get the TM ones. They actually hold AND feed all the rounds they claim to unlike the CYMA ones. Edit: The D.Eagle will also take the above listed lipo battery.

The newer Double Eagle ones are quite decent, but like ronny said - go for the TM ones. They are much more reliable and feed better. At a pinch the ASG shells will do, but I've found them to be a bit hit or miss with feeding.

Usually I'm still buzzing so I'm okay till I hit the shower later that night. Then I remember how much my muscles were protesting and they wreak payback haha

Welcome to the site mate! Most airsofters are a friendly bunch, but like any hobby you'll get your dickheads now and then. Don't worry about turning up alone - you'll be put into teams anyway so you don't need to worry about being left out. It does help having a friend or two that you play regularly with, but it's not too much of a drawback for you.

Nice little write up. Having just acquired a sniper rifle for the first time off DEDSEC I may invest in one of these.

Personally love playing in the rain as everyone congregates in the areas where there's overhead cover - like shooting fish in a barrel as another poster said. That said I always make sure to travel light when it's raining, often completely ditching a chest rig as it puts pressure on the shoulders and lets water in. Poncho, boonie hat, camo trousers, mesh face protection, penknife/multi tool, pistol holster, rifle and sidearm (plus mags) - sorted!

I've been considering the effort and logistics of building a Halo ODST loadout. But then I remember I have neither the time now patience to build it haha I have got an Army of Two style loadout built up just for CQB which I have a lot of fun using

Being a slim midget (5ft 5) I have to run chest rigs since finding a plate carrier that fits is quite hard unless I don't mind doing a lot of tailoring. First one I brought was a Viper Chest Rig which I got for £20 off eBay: Was light and surprisingly tough for such a cheap price. Main issues I had were the inconsistent molle weave width (I had to loosen some of the stitching to get the molle straps to fit) and the buckles on the shoulders seemed to have been made from pasta (first skirmish one broke from a direct hit - luckily I had some cable ties handy). My current main rig is a Blue Force Gear Ten-Speed SR25 which I picked up as part of a trade for one of my old guns: Very lightweight and maneuverable. Has pouches for three rifle mags, two pistol mags and a pouch behind these for odds and ends. Has fit every regular mag I've tried in it and never had any issues with them coming loose. Looking around £90 new, but it's brilliant with the warmer weather we've been having lately.

I drive me and my mates as I live further away from our main site - easier for me to pick them up along the way. Sometimes I'll give a lift to people who live nearby who are going to the same site if they ask - so long as they pay me for petrol money of course.

Pretty much this. Even though the TM has a better build quality it is prone to the same faults as a clone brand trishot. If you want a simple "get up and go" gun then any spring trishot rifle will do the job. If you want something that kicks ass then go for the gas powered TM m870 - 6 shot bursts are a lot of fun! There are other gas shotguns with the multi shot feature, but they're either shell ejecting (therefore not practical) or are prone to problems, e.g. the mad max shotguns whose shells are fine for one shot before the o-ring goes or the m500 series which tend to have weak metal slide arms.

Try adding a floral pattern to it - break up the outline of the mag a bit and provides a great ice breaker at skirmishes haha

Usually m90 springs will give ~295 fps and an m100 will give ~325 fps, so it depends on how much leeway your site gives over that limit. For example some sites list 328 as their limit but have a tolerance up to 350, any gun even .1 fps over can't be used. Because of this I always choose m90 springs for my rifles as it's comfortably within most site limits even if I sacrifice that extra fps boost.

Under armour tshirt (black). Czech m95 or multicam trousers. Austrian army pistol belt. Two olive drab green pouches loaded with shotgun shells. Olive drab pistol holster with pistol magazine pouch. Hydration pouch. Dump pouch (black). Hiking boots. Use this for CQB only as I prefer the extra padding against sniper hits that a chest rig provides in woodland - even when it's very warm. Very lightweight, highly mobile loadout even if I usually end the day looking like I have chicken pox.

Personally depends on where I'm going and what I feel like wearing but I usually run a mesh goggle/lower face mask combo or an army of two style full face mask if I'm in a very close quarter site.
