Unless you've got a higher-end set of calipers coming then you might not get an accurate reading.  I went through a few from £5 to £25 in the end had to spend £150 on a decent set.  I highly doubt any brand would want to go bigger than 5.95mm.  My guess is they aim lower for better fitment.  Most BB's I measured this past couple of months were 0.01mm lower than stated.   Some brands do state +/- 0.01mm.  Heard tolerance is a bitch with injection molding.

In regards to your high FPS did you change anything else?

My Aldi digi callipers have served me for years.  However, if I REALLY needed to measure something, I'd use a micrometer and make sure that I'd tested it with a gauge block recently.

I have known really crap cheapo rubbish BBs to exceed size tolerance, but I doubt you'd want to use them, Bulldog and similar.

Interestingly and anecdotally, I most often use a 25C 2200 Mah Kypom LiPo with my T238s, but I also use a Turnigy Nanotech 70-140C 5K Mah brick, which is capable of more than enough output to fry everything in that motor whether shorted or not. I haven't had any issues yet, but I'll let folks know if I do.

@GiantKiwi why do you think that exactly?  how much are you thinking and what area?  I'd say yearly pen test / audits would be a nice bonus but "significant" I'm not so sure

UKARA records site membership, there's no reason to just have a single one. I've had three on the go at once.

    Why?
Define significant money?  A secure system, hosting and handling processes are required.  That costs money.  But why ‘significant’?

GDPR does not prevent the sharing of personal information - in fact, as any system designed to form a VCRA defence would require some form of sharing to function then it would be a GDPR breech to not share information collected for the purposes of sharing the validation of a defence.

It does require the security of information collected and to only share the appropriate information in the appropriate manner

eg Collect suitable information to justify a defence, receive a query to validate a defence, share appropriate information back and forth with appropriate parties

Eg request for defence number 54321, Joe Bloggs, 1 the Avenue, New Town
    Result confirmed

I did/do think the current situation isn't great for those I described above,  or those who like to go do several different sites .... so no one site would meet the requirements.   A system that stores a profile/ portfolio of verifiable activity,  such as pictures direct from registered sites, payment receipts,  registered address etc.  Would be helpful.

I guess the issues come down to hassle-risk-reward for the operator.

@superwok I know you got it sorted via the just-cos route, however did you not try to ask any retailers if any other forms of defence were acceptable?  You've got 110 posts on this forum, have been a member for 5 years, visit regular and have 100% feedback, that should be enough to confirm.

As @Dan Robinson also states, social media posts / photos also another good.

The IT ex-colleague of mine who's still looking at a defense system (has a fair bit of it built) was thinking about putting in supporting material for defence, how it will work in the system I don't know but seems a legit idea.

Cool story, but I don't see an offence there.  It's a long stretch to show intent beyond a reasonable doubt, and it's not like rapscallions can't figure out that they can apply some best Poundland spray paint to their day-glos, for fair purposes or foul.

I very much doubt there's any policing of RIFs now, at least within the UK's borders. There are retailers openly flaunting the VCRA with joke non-defences like JustCos, or techs posting videos documenting that they're building Section 5 firearms. Nobody is bothered... until some cause célèbre will inevitably result in the State getting very bothered.

I sympathise with the need for a system of defense such as UKARA, but to be fair to the OP, my son's  situation would mean that if he were 18, it would be incredibly difficult for him to maintain a UKARA defense, and once I leave the UK,  it will be the same for me.  We'll only be back for a month or two at a time with lots of family visiting responsibilities to fit into a limited budget when it comes to car hire, fees, ammo, and possibly having to rent an air BnB for the duration.

Hence, as discussed in other threads, I maintain an album of site generated pictures of me and him participating in the hobby to help us form a defence of our own should we ever be pulled over by the fuzz with a car full of RIFs.  Which I know doesn't help with retailers...  but then this is the reason for this thread I suppose.

Mind you the OP didn't do himself any favours by not at least trying to explain the situation.

    Just playing devil's advocate.

For my 5 pence worth, although the current system it could be argued isn’t the best it is something and it’s recognised. When I was reenacting I had all the insurances and memberships but I could only ever buy rifs that corresponded to the time period I was portraying. My quite brutal answer would be if you can’t make time to play frequently then maybe Airsoft isn’t for you.

Given that the requirement is to "take part in three games at the same UKARA registered game site over a minimum of two months, e.g. the third game being 56 days or more after the first." I am slightly baffled as to how you are unable to play frequently enough.

Hopefully, none. To my knowledge, Just-Cos isn't a valid defence for a RIF.

That's the same as mine except black!

I've just had a look at one of my spare EPG-C grips, the flanges either side of the height adjuster may still need cutting down a bit, the end bearing on the XT motor is shallower than a regular motor, plus you don't have all the empty space around it where the tabs mount on a brushed motor.
Plus they do usually put the motor a touch too steep for me. Not so bad that it shags the motor but not the best meshing!

Uh magnets seem overkill for a 150w motor, but the specs look all but the same.

XT one uses UH grade magnet as well, my guess is they all do and it's nothing to get hung up on.  I like the toggle switch of CH though, less for the customer to fuck up!
