I'm down to the standard "renters" loadout.  Often "plastic" shorty aeg with a single hi-cap mag and a bag of BB.  Knee pads essential.  I laid a bathroom floor the other week without kneepads and couldn't walk straight for a week.

Hey there fellow creaky knee 'softer!

I literally feel your pain so I would say that while a battle belt and a chest rig will distribute weight differently belt kit is widely regarded as better distribution for your body as a whole. By moving the load from your shoulders down to your hips it helps with mobility etc. That being said I tend to run almost exclusively with chest rigs. I have both a WAS 901 and a couple of Mayflower copies (UW IV and V) so in terms of reducing your overall load I'd stay clear of the 901. It's quite a bit heavier than either of the Mayflower rigs, plus it's just MOLLE so you need to factor in the weight of all the pouches you'll want to add. The UW IV is good if you only want to carry 4 mags and a few bits, the V is probably easier to load up with everything bar the kitchen sink (you'll need a rucksack for that).

I'd suggest that maybe keep the belt for your pistol and pistol mags and shift the rifle mags etc to a chest rig just to help spread things out a bit but the basic issue is just trying to cut down on the overall load.

Additionally, if you've only just started getting knee pain, maybe go see an osteopath and see if there's any exercises that could help alleviate the issue. My knee pain comes from years of cycling when I was younger which has pulled the knee cap out of line. There's exercises for it though and if I remember to do them regularly it does really help minimise the discomfort! Good footwear cannot be overemphasised either.

Congrats on the working gun.  You are now over qualified to post on Reddit.

Hard to tell from a video, but I'd have a fiddle with the motor height and see if it'll hush down even more.

While I agree in general that they aren't the best, by sending a RIF using them you're sending an item which is on their prohibited items list. If you're sending things using couriers educate yourself on what you can and can't send then you're ultimately responsible for what happens to the items you're attempting to send. In my experience all online booking in services have a box you have to tick that confirms you're not sending anything you shouldn't be, given the terms they lay out they're not the ones in the wrong here.

Little update, Cage were running silent so I bought my own set of 16:1 gears and had a crack at rebuilding and shimming.

Took a few goes and lots of YouTube but I think I finally cracked it (so to speak).

I don't know what I did differently so can only assume the missing teeth on the old cogs were the reason for gearbox locking. Pew number one is now back together and cycling nicely with a decent punch of air coming out of the barrel.  Can't really test it properly though at this time of night. Plus I should really put some grease on the insides.  But it appears that I have graduated to Junior Tech First Class.

Have some proper silicone grease coming tomorrow so hopefully will get it rebuilt following a successful garden test in good time for next game day on the 19th.

Will upload a video for you guys to assess the sound as best as can be done to see how it is.... I still have trouble discerning what's acceptable and what is good when it comes to these cheaper gearboxes.  I'm still envious of some guns who sound like the gears are running on silk, but I'm guessing they're 4 figure pews..

A small nick in the oring generally wouldn't cause it to not fire, maybe a small drop in power.  You're going to have to open it up, could be something super simple.  Open it up, post up some pictures or even better a video.

Hi all, regarding members putting a piece of paper showing their username & the current date within the pictures in their sales threads, I mistakenly thought this was already a rule, but rereading through the forum I note this is currently only a recommendation.
Any way this could be made a permanent requirement please, I just feel that with the ever growing membership, many of whom only come here to take advantage of the high member count & just utilise the classifieds, it's only a matter of time before we get another run of scammers trying their luck.
I also feel this should be applied to the appraisals section, as some threads there seem to be worded in such a way as to generate sales interest, with members often replying saying things like "first dibs please", again without the op displaying proof the items are in their possession.
Its a small point but fairly crucial in ensuring provenance of items shown in pictures.

I would mention it. At this point those with less morals would take it in and then claim I never arrived. Get a second one curtesy of ups as its their insurance that would be picking up the bill not JD.

Not quite. You still have to apply for an airgun loicence, but it's effectively an automatic add-on and only costs £5, instead of £72 for 5 years.

It's shockingly close to being sensible.

For a short time I worked on the Kent Police instance of the national firearms management system, nothing in there about Air-gun ownership.  Certainly nothing at county level.

very niche product, if outside is pretty similar only way to tell is get a decent magnified snake scope and check out the quality of the polishing, that's where the real cost of inner barrels lies it seems.  I've tried to get my own brand of barrels made, whilst the raw material is super cheap, the polishing cost was expensive.
