  1. http://www.airsoftworld.net/burst-wizard-kk-plug-and-play-mosfet-king-kong-large-tamiya.html Burst wizard Mosfet so I can use my Sten on semi for indoors.
  2. Guess that won't be an issue as I only use NiMHs, especially on the sten as it would be a lot more hassle to fit a LiPo in.
  3. You're just saying that to annoy me You will actually find the KA mags hold more than 110 rounds, its about 135-140 so 5 mags is almost 700 rounds. I tested mine by working out how many bb's come out of a speed loader per push (4) and then count how many pushes it takes to load them. Average worked out at 138 bb's per mag.
  4. Question: Given that most of the time I play at an indoor semi only site, should I get one of these: http://www.airsoftworld.net/burst-wizard-kk-plug-and-play-mosfet-king-kong.html ? I have my MP5 but it would be fun to have the STEN as an option. Edit: Actually seems only http://www.airsoftworld.net/new-2014-burst-wizard-king-kong-super-2-mosfet.html is available.
  5. Does make me laugh that you want an actual gas mask for authenticity... ...but for the actual outfit you consider a fancy dress costume to be a reasonable option Btw, I decided to ask on the WW2 forums about the validity of a sawn off shotgun. The answer is pretty much: So I think I will get one anyway but might not take it to WW2 events
  6. http://www.epicmilitaria.com/product.php/2780/ww2-british-gas-mask-and-case/4c580f6627254cfc8cdd8096a89de13f http://www.surplusandoutdoors.com/shop/british-militaria/wwii-1940-s/british-wwii-gas-mask-complete-420820.html £22-25 seems to be a pretty standard price tbh.
  7. why would you want the gas mask? All you really need is the bag http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/British-Army-Infantry-Olive-Green-WWII-Style-Gas-mask-bag-shoulder-bag-Used-/131000876543?pt=UK_Collectables_Militaria_LE&hash=item1e8042bdff to keep sandwiches in.
  8. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WW2-ISSUE-BRITISH-ARMY-GAS-MASK-BAG-mk1-1943-1944-/121275890412?pt=UK_Collectables_Militaria_LE&hash=item1c3c9b3aec Was this it?
  9. Jungle Kit is either the same as Desert Kit or the same but dyed green. So you can either wear a 2 pocket shirt tucked in (like the lightweight modern shirt) or a 4 Pocket shirt as a jacket (like in the 'Aint half hot mum' picks), then you can wear shorts or long trousers. Another easy WW2 loadout would be a khaki boiler suit, black beret and a belt. If anyone asks, you just can't remember where you left your tank. Belt should ideally be black P37 one.
  10. http://www.britishmilitarysurplus.co.uk/shop/shirts/olive-green-general-service-shirt-1123297.html http://www.britishmilitarysurplus.co.uk/shop/trousers/lightweights-fatigue-trousers-1122242.html Set of British green lightweights: Grade 2 would be £9 http://www.sofmilitary.co.uk/1937-mk3-basic-web-set-product,11318 Basic Webbing £34 http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00168YSKI/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AIKN7SVBFHMAA helmet £8.50 That would be a basic Jungle green loadout. Use some scraps of green fabric for puttees. Would look better if the shirt and trousers were about 15 sizes too big
  11. yup might pass for Canadian http://www.amazon.co.uk/Smiffys-Private-Costume-Trousers-Harness/dp/B00AZGHR82/ref=sr_1_31?ie=UTF8&qid=1392573991&sr=8-31&keywords=ww2+costume would be closer to Ian's character in Dad's army though
  12. It'll be really low quality, the colour is wrong and the pockets are in the wrong place.
  13. So what Ed is really saying when he posts NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO is that there are 'no limits' and we should 'reach for the sky' in our attempts to customise the perfect airsoft gun? OK, I am going to need the following: A shoot and Scoot Lee enfield, some wood screws, some RIS rails, an Elcan Specter DR, a laser sight, a torch, Long M203 launcher..... ...hmm what paint would I use to do a digital camo paint job on wood?
  14. Yup he is a bit out of touch, he stopped playing for 7 years and only started again because people were asking him to make videos about it. There are a million people out there with cameras strapped to themselves posting youtube videos. How many other's do bits to camera explaining what's going on? He does appear to have a lot of spare cash, that could be you one day if you get as many subscribers as he has I find him entertaining rather than informative, I really hope he never does another review after the AK one he did but the In Country ones were rather good. I never miss Mingles with Jingles, its basically him talking rubbish for 20 mins every week.
  15. I do as it happens. I love the M1 Carbine, for it's day it was a brilliant design. The best way round that one would be to wear the correct beret with denison smock, webbing and battledress: Instant WW2 SAS loadout SAS can get away with any weapon as long as the time period is right Oh and the name is Russell, it's just that someone had already been naughty with that name so I couldn't use it so I replaced the L's with 1's
  16. There is a picture of a British Para at Arnhem with an M1 Carbine. These were not issued to British troops, there were no American troops nearby who could have lost it so for it to be in the photo, it would have had to be carried in plain sight as he got onto the plane or glider. An M1 carbine although small, would not fit into a British pack, a sawnoff shotgun would though.
  17. Yup the Hwa San is better looking but the Goblin is smaller, lighter uses 6mm ammo, shoots 12 bb's per shell rather than 7 and is cheaper, plus it comes with a holster. Soldiers would get shotguns from just about anywhere, farms in france, farms back home, dead resistance fighters, bought from Ian during his black marketeering days... Pump action ones would not have been common, a sawn off double barrelled shotgun would have been easy to get hold of and easy to carry.
  18. I find that although they are not always the cheapest, they have been very useful for my WW2 loadout and their web site is one of the most user friendly ones I have seen.
  19. One British youtube channel that does get a lot of views is BohemianEagle AKA the mighty Jingles. He does mainly video game videos (world of Tanks and War Thunder) but mentioned airsoft and his subscribers persuaded him to get back into airsoft and make videos last year. Very different style of video to anything else I have seen because he usually does videos of computer games. He has had to start by going through the basics for his subscriber base. It's all his fault I got into this, I ran out of War thunder videos one day.
  20. http://gunfire.pl/product-eng-1152201530-Goblin-Deuce-green-gas-replica.html Saw this the other day, effectively a mini grenade launcher with 12bb's per shell. Not very realistic but how much fun would it be
  21. Just been toying with some ideas that really suit this thread. Don't think I will ever do them but with the cheap Stens at landwarrior, someone might. So what if... You start with an ASG Sten MKII Now the front heatshield is removable so there are 2 options; Remove it and clamp one of these to the barrel Now you can add a red dot, laser, torch and a hand grip Or just keep it on and add A 30mm scope ring is about right for the heat shield, if it doesn't fit right then a replacement heatshield made from PVC pipe would work. Now you can add a red dot, torch, laser and an underslung weapon The Ultimate FrankenSTEN!!!
  22. To be correct you would have no sidearm. Most non-officers would have no pistol. Looted souvenirs would be possible so a Luger hidden in an ammo pouch for example would be an option. By the later war period, special forces and airbourne troops may have had access to the Browning Hi Power. 1911's would have been used by Americans but British and American troops rarely worked together so the possibility of a British airbourne soldier having one is slim, unless some sort of swap was made while on leave. Best options would therefore be a German pistol or a Browning. The Browning is tempting as it covers any British Loadout from 1944 to 2013.
  23. http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/acatalog/WWII_Pistols_airsoft.html http://uk.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Gas_Pistols_SMGs_WE_WE_Browning_Hi_Power_M1935.htm Seems Landwarrior has the Luger cheaper and Redwolf have the Browning cheaper than the 1911. Jeez, here I am trying to be sensible and not spend extra money and you guys just taunt me with links to cool guns The Browning is very tempting, would work with lots of different loadouts.
  24. Is Morena cold? Or couldn't you be bothered to pick up the dirty laundry from the floor?
  25. Ordered the denims, plus some soldier95 leather gloves. I have also booked up for Hockwerk and did a bit of research. The location is an old WW2 bomber base and post war rocket testing facility so could be a lot of fun. I have been trying to think of the best way to add a sidearm to this loadout. A Browning Hi-power would work or a revolver, I then considered a German gun, after all a British private would not be issued a sidearm, but might loot one. A Luger or P38 would be nice. I cannot obviously afford any of these after the expense of this loadout but a pistol would be very handy in close quarters as the Sten has a handicap with tight corners. I am considering the HFC HG-106 as a possible stop gap measure. It's a small non blowback pistol costing less than £20 with no hopup and is sold on all our favourite 2 tone web sites as a Walther PPK. It's actually a replica of the Walther HSC and I have found some favourable reviews http://ww2aa.proboards.com/thread/4965 It should fit easily in a pocket or ammo pouch and with a paint job and a few modifications should be useable for emergencies.
