  1. I tend to wear a UBACS style shirt with a UA shirt underneath, plus a T shirt when it's colder. Softshell jackets are pretty handy to have around when it's really cold, but unless it's subzero all day I just get too hot - I guess this depends on how fit you are and whether or not you are a lazy bugger :)

  2. I rewrote my original post but there i'd mentioned how I don't feel there's a trustworthy source for game reviews these days. I used to read PC Zone but unfortunately that closed down years ago, so now I just buy games if they pique my interest. I don't mean this in a conspiratorial cash for good reviews way either, I just don't agree with points I see most games journalists make.

One of the biggest problems is people won't stop supporting devs that gouge every penny out of their customers. EA must be laughing all the way to the bank with people spending hundreds, or even thousands trying to unlock a certain player in FIFA. Plus people support "well they are a company they are there to make money" which isn't really a valid argument. Yep you can treat your customers like crap because money, seems reasonable, hopefully all businesses will follow this model...

Fortunately though some devs realise that generating goodwill amongst their playerbase can be very beneficial, as you mention CD Projekt Red get it and I really like what Psyonix have done with Rocket League.

  3. I really liked the beta and i'll definitely be playing a lot more when the game releases.

I'm not keen on the announcement that season pass holders will get exclusive monthly events and it remains to be seen how good the anti cheat will be on the PC version.

Personally I buy games I enjoy and try not to get too jaded by the practices in the industry as it diminishes my enjoyment of gaming and it isn't something I have any control over. It's certainly interesting to discuss though.

  4. Also, if this was bought new in the UK you should absolutely take this up with the retailer and ask why it wasn't downgraded. They're well aware of the site limits.

This is exactly what i'd do. When I buy guns I ask them to Chrono them, prepared to say if it's over 350 FPS they need to downgrade it for free. If they won't i'll just buy elsewhere.

  5.

I'm fairly sure someone somewhere is still making the SOPMOD magazines... MLEmart have had a few loads in stock over the last few months

I couldn't figure out if those are just a load that have been kicking about in a warehouse somewhere, seen them appear on their ebay store a couple of times when I was looking for a mate. Either way he bought a few and they look identical to the genuine ones I bought a couple of years back.

  6. It's a shame Magpul pulled their licensing, but given how people were buying 'fake' airsoft stuff and sticking it on real steel then complaining when it wasn't up to scratch or appeared slightly different you can see why they would. Their real steel accessories are obviously where the vast majority of their income was coming from. Seen quite a few smaller real steel companies teaming up with PTS though, and some interesting designs for flash hiders and charging handles are knocking about these days.

Whilst I completely understand why they did it I just wish someone would produce mags remotely on par with the SOPMOD PMAGs for the TM recoils. Unless there's some I don't know about, being worried about losing mags you can't replace sucks.

  7. Right, tha would make sence as i bought a ton a while back.

Chances are that WE will make the next lot in the interim?

Considering all the shops i have been to and online shops that sold a crazy amount of them, clearly there is space for more BB makes.

It looked like they were undercutting everyone else with their wholesale price as I saw one store doing bulk buys of 12 bottles way cheaper than I buy my 0.25g blaster boxes and that was already the cheapest I found in the country.

The shattering on impact thing is just how BBs work.

Nuprol is WE(I think WE Europe specifically) - I'm wondering what their plan is as WE got a rep for bad quality control now Nuprol seem intent on following suit.

  8. Maybe I should change the title... I was looking to see what mods were out there for large battery packs in order to get some ideas.

It's a bit@h trying to find batteries higher than 20C that will fit inside the TM crane stock so was thinking of just using my RC batteries with a modified case or holder attached to the stock.

Do you have the 416 with the M4 stock? The standard 416 stock will fit a 2600 mAh battery :P

  9.

True, the Warrior ones are grippy for want of a better word, and it is easy enough to unvelcro the bungee cord from inside the pouch and remove it completely. I chose the bungee version for the added security.

I just tuck the pull tabs on them behind my mags and they are completely out of the way. Perhaps PMAGs hold better than standard M4 mags, but the only thing i'd gain from switching to polymer mag holders would be aesthetics.

  10. The ones with bungees don't mean you have to put them over the mags as they should still hold find, that's what i've always done.

I've only ever used PMAGs but the only time a mag fall out was using a crappy condor chest rig where I had removed the bungee section as a test, turned out it was gripping the mag where it was tied...

  11. offtopic: Held a real sa80 at my towns military showoff thing and it had that grip on the back but for me there was no way I could hold it with the grip? someone please explain

You hold it with your left hand, assuming you are holding the gun right handed. It's to steady the gun when a bipod is deployed or it's resting on stuff.

  12.

I don't feel it's the deliberate cheaters that are the problem, its the "I'm not hit cus I cant see the shooter" guys, I've encountered a fair few of these guys. I've not yet encountered someone in the first category. Overall it's a pitiful distinction.

You lean around a corner, shoot someone in the back and disappear before they can see you.... and then find they're still active a few moments later.

It's surprising it is so common when I think every site i've played as mentions it in the brief. The other week had at least 3 people not take multiple hits and it seemed to be on the basis of they couldn't see me so it doesn't count. Also people that try to shoot you after you have hit them before they will call hit, fuck those guys.

  13. For woodland, disposable cardboard pyro is by far the best option, you can launch them much further and its not the end of the world if they do get lost. The underarm only rules still apply, it's a big heavy chunk of metal at the end of the day.

To be honest almost every single time I want to use Pyro at any site it would be over waist height at the very least. I'm going to sell both of my BFGs at some point and buy a load of MK5s with the money.

  14. Might have just walked in a bad day but I am not very forgiving.

To be honest best service I have ever had from a uk store was patrolbase.

I'm much the same when it comes to shops to be fair, if I had someone be rude or act uninterested it would take some convincing to get me to go back. The only experience I really ever have with shops is the sales side of things as I think it's a massive ballache sending stuff back months down the line, to the point where i'd rather get the local tech to sort it for me and be out of pocket.
