Good point Monty haha, can't wait to try it anyway but got to wait for it to arrive from China :(

  2. What about this Frizzle mate? http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/new-products/golden-eagle-ak-47-74-railed-dust-cover.htm
  3. Why's everyone on eHobby Asia saying the TM G17 is expensive...it's like £80. Over here (if in stock) they're like £100 right? Haven't seen their shipping costs yet though - also going to buy JG BAR-10 from them.

I only ever use it for parts i cant get anywhere else. And only to fix broken stuff. Never for things i just want. Not again. Bout a G36 drum magazine, they sent me a M4 one. Refused to refund me or send me the correct one unless i returned the M4 one, with the international shipping at my expense.

TM G18s are mad expensive in the UK, like £140 or so whenever I've seen them.

Only Glock 18 I've ever seen for that cheap are the AEP ones.

its ok buying from asia but (and ive had this happen a few times now) not only does the shipping normaly bring it up to uk price anyway the other thingis customs and ive paid up to and over 30 quidto get a gun released so sometimes best to stick to uk

  4. Component-Shop is good for batteries and chargers. You should be able to buy both for around £20-£25 (I know someone bought a LiPo + Charger for £25)
  5. Any difference between a normal M4A1 receiver and Mk18 receiver? I mean it's the same gun but I'm just wondering if there is some kind of difference with the airsoft model. Could be ordering new lower and upper from eHobby Asia (at some point)

    1. M_P

      M_P

Shape-wise no, the markings might be though- Jcheesewright is probably the guy to ask

    2. jcheeseright

      jcheeseright

In airsoft terms no difference, 99% of real Mk18s I expect have standard colt traded M4 lowers. A standard M4 upper

      would be fine. T

he real Mk18 has a modified bolt, buffer and gas system to cope with the shorter barrel.

    3. jcheeseright

      jcheeseright

For added clarity, Mk18 is just the US Navy numbering system for the CQBR (close quarters battle receiver), you'll get more info searching for that than Mk18.

  6. Or these for £35 - http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/airsoft-magazines-c3/mid-standard-capacity-c52/g-g-120-mid-capacity-magazine-box-of-5-tan-black-gr16-m4-p3441
  7. If you're looking for mags, and aren't too bothered about whether they're metal or not, Airsoft Supply Drop sells MAG mid caps for £6.98 / £7.98 each (or a box of 8 for £55) Not the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive either - good quality and affordable. I think they do have metal ones too.
  8. This isn't the worst I've seen but I think it could annoy the purists amongst us. Eugh. Just no.
  9. Really like MARPAT, but if I bought US M81 Woodland it could be used for OPFOR loadouts too. Both are pretty cheap on Flecktarn. What are your opinions?

  10. If you do get one, Tokyo Marui or KWA make the best pistols. As the other guys have said, GBB pistols can suffer in cold temperatures, but a stock TM gun should perform well enough. I say stock because you can buy a Guarder kit for it, you get a new slide / frame / barrel etc but the better externals mean added weight and you sacrifice efficiency (more power needed to push slide back) The CYMA CM.030 (Electric Glock 18) is a popular AEP but it's non-blowback and not very realistic. Good in cold weather and should be a reliable side arm. I don't think it will be 1:1 scale so it won't fit in moulded holsters (e.g. IMI / BLACKHAWK SERPA / G-Code) I'd also highly recommend you purchase a LiPo battery for it which increases trigger response as well as rate of fire. Airsoft-World sell an exclusive special LiPo which is specifically designed for the CM.030 and another electric pistol (same series / also made by CYMA) If you search for 'custom CM.030' or something people so some crazy shit with theirs adding stocks / scopes etc
  11. Yeah a pistol isn't really too important, get one if you want, but as a beginner your money could be better spent on a more expensive gun or gear. I've also been looking at guns and things on eHobby Asia - does anybody know what it's like buying from them in terms of shipping / customs etc? The stuff on there is really well priced but I can imagine import taxes and everything will be expensive and stuff can get seized by customs and they don't give you if back for ages.
  12. Anybody ordered guns from eHobby Asia? I know it's a good website and it's trusted but what's it like for delivery etc? I would expect high customs charges and things (it they got through) I ask because I found a JG BAR 10 on there ($98!) & TM G17 for ~ $140! And a load of gear and stuff I want too.

  13. Never thought changing a delta ring would be such a hassle, and how do you keep that front part (where front of handguard slots in to) in place without FSP (people remove it to use red dot sights and such)

      Airsoft_Mr B

Ok well I removed the existing delta ring piece and now I have to put the new one on but it is threaded whereas the CYMA one isn't. I think I could file it down to fit because it's a like fraction of millimetre off. Not sure how they then lock into place because at the one point I tried putting the CYMA one back on and couldn't figure that out.

Mr B, why not just put a pair of surplus DPM's or other cheap uniform and sew a paracord grid on the back?

    3. Airsoft_Mr B

      Airsoft_Mr B

That's what I'm thinking of doing instead of a full on suit Teddy. I have either Vegetato or DPM BDUs I could use and I have some paracord already. Thing is how do you actually attach the foliage onto it? I know people use dental floss and things but I don't know how you actually tie it on or whatever. I'll find a way when I get to that stage. I will buy some burlap or synthetic fibre stuff to put on too.

    4. AirsoftTed

      AirsoftTed

The grids aren't completely flat to the BDU, only sewn on at the joins and corners, leaving space to thread foilage in, or you can tie loops in your jute and burlap to put foilage in. I think what the original guy did was use shock/bungee cord sewn onto the BDU to retain foilage, I remember him mentioning buying some near the beginning

  14. Wow ok so I've just a seen this YouTube comment, the guy said in Russia their sniper rifles can be upgraded to 250 m/s. That's ~820 FPS!!

Well it's an airsoft type game they're playing, pellets and not proper rounds so they wear a bit more protection compared to over here.

    3. Airsoft_Mr B

      Airsoft_Mr B

Basically it's BB guns they're using (I don't mean cheap airsoft guns)

I think this is the video but there was another I watched which could be it:

I don't think I've met anyone playing hardball in Ukraine, but I'd imagine the community would be big enough for it due to how common russian made air rifles are available.. Hardball is basically airsoft with air rifles(.177 lead pellets and balls) It's absolutely mental.

  15. Cybergun CYMA Blackwater BW15 (CQB-R M4)
  16. Not bad! Personally I prefer the more simplistic skeleton-style-stock design as opposed to the SOCOM one. ACOG is nice too, probably getting one for my M4 as well. Internally sounds great but I don't like 12" RIS. (Just a personal thing I don't like the look of it on any gun)
  17. My Blackwater CQB-R. Ordered new delta ring today. Still a WIP to complete the look I want and some internal upgrades in the future. Looks so shit after seeing CKinnerley's and Cheeseright's guns! haha
  18. Asked about that mesh stuff people use for a snakeskin camo stencil at a couple of art / craft shops today. I think I explained it alright but don't have a clue what it's called. Neither of them had anyway anyway.
  19. Paid for a new delta ring (real steel style to replace CYMA -TM- one) so my MOE PTS Handguard will fit properly This also means I will be selling my RIS and I have a potential buyer Also, my MAG mags arrived today! Stated as OD colour, but actually close to Coyote Brown or Coyote Tan. Feed well, not too tight or wobbly either. Very pleased - I will be buying a box set of them.
  20. Welcome to the forum. First and Only run some sites around Manchester I know of and there is Alpha One near Wakefield. There are a lot of great shops to buy from, Pro Airsoft Supplies, Airsoft World, Zero One, UK Tactical etc. My local retailer is Patrol Base in Huddersfield, which is another popular and very good store. For gear, I would recommend Flecktarn.co.uk too, the Bulle stuff is affordable and nice quality.
  21. So I'm going to be buying a new delta ring for my M4 as I have an MOE handguard. What kind of price can I expect to sell my RIS for? No longer need / want it and I would have to switch delta ring to change between handguard and RIS. Also looking to sell my 2 metal hi caps that came with the gun as I am buying MAG mid caps. Thanks

what type of ris is it mate? KAC style?

    3. Airsoft_Mr B

      Airsoft_Mr B

Yeah I think it is, I think it's in pretty good condition, carbine length. It's from my CYMA so a TM clone but I would include the delta ring if I sell it.

    4. Mack

      Mack

Cyma m4 rails go for £23 on a few sights I know and that includes the KAC style rail covers. If you are selling it let me know as im after a ris for a project

  22. I think by additional costs he means getting there and buying BBs and things. If you rent it will probably cost £40 altogether (in total) or if you have own gun and gear (don't need to hire) then £20 / £25. Look for your local airsoft site then it should say on website when they have skirmishes (when are the meetings?) When you hire you will usually get 1000 or 2000 BBs but if you want more they might sell some. The only airsoft shops I know for London area is Pro Airsoft Supplies and Wolf Armouries but I think wolf armouries is expensive. Yes if you do not have UKARA defence your gun need to be brightly coloured but when you get UKARA defence (easy to get) you can have realistic looking guns. Sorry I do not know if you could get your G36 over here though. Hope this helped
  23. Just bought a couple of MAG magazines for my M4

I find them pretty good, although the springs need wearing in as they are a bit stiff to start off with
