Lozart got a reaction from Leo Greer in G&G rebuild - protruding bearing!
It really isn't, in our application especially. Good bushings are always going to be better than cheap bearings anyway.
What he said.
Take it apart and check to see if all the bearings you have are actually the same thickness.

Nobody move, this is a threadjack!
You're in the Reading area? Come over to Red Alert airsoft, where you'll also find @StackUpAirsoft
Okay, threadjack over, as you were. 😁

I actually have on my CV:
'C in GCSE Physics
Understanding of BB weight upon exterior ballistic performance of 6mm plastic BB, as presented in posts on AFUK.'
I reckon that's worth a couple of grand extra a year surely?!

The reason is that the average speed of the bb is higher if it is heavier. With greater mass the bb slows down more slowly and the force due to drag is less because of the reduced speed from the outset.
So you have less deceleration all the time for the same speed (.2 vs .4 is half of the deceleration due to drag of the .2) and more drag for the same energy for the .2, because its going faster and drag is exponentially increased with speed.
The result is that the .2 has a high force slowing a light bb which reduces it's speed much more than the lower force on a heavier bb. The heavy one overtakes the light one in effect and arrives sooner than the light one.
The graph above from the Airsoft trajectory project shows the time and mass relationship.

Because lighter BBs slow down significantly faster than heavier ones. It's enough that at about 30m they will impact at about the same time. Past 30m heavier BBs will start to land before lighter ones. I'll link the airsoft trajectory project. Someone using actual maths and simulations to map the ballistics of BBs. In the fifth chart, time of flight vs distance, you see an almost constant ~30% increase in travel time for a 0.2g bb over a 0.3g bb at the end of the range.

Lozart got a reaction from BM900 in G&G Armament EMG Seekins Precision SBR8 - high failure rate.
I have the G&G SR25 E2 APC, I only ever had that beeping when I tried to run it on a 7.4v LiPo. Swapped to an 11.1v and it stopped (I've since swapped out the ETU for the Perun ETU++ and that lets me use 7.4v no problem. Fingers crossed on the new battery!

Hi Lozart! Great to connect again. (need to meet at Camp Bravo one day)
Yes the Mk18 look is what I am after, more specifically with this silencer as I am currently running it; link
Appreciate the insight. I will therefore assume that both of these will work nicely in unison

Thanks again.
Will run a 247mm inner barrel for this.

Lozart got a reaction from Gryph in Ukara for non UK airsofters
To expand on what @Colin Allen put so succinctly, not really.
There are places to play that cost less than £60 a pop to rent (Red Alert for example is £50) but to get your UKARA it costs what it costs I'm afraid.
Plus, let's be honest if you've been playing plenty you're not going to want a) a gun as cheap as three rental sessions or b) just one RIF.
-
Lozart reacted to The_Lord_Poncho in Ukara for non UK airsofters
Locally, its about £25 rental, vs £15 walk on - so your three games to get UKARA would only cost you an extra £30. If your local sites are much more expensive than that, why not just buy a cheap two tone, and sell it on once you get your UKARA?

In my experience, they are inconsistent and tend to lose their power quite quickly.

It tickles me greatly to see "outperform. Dominate. AEG Perfection" on a box that also says "Nuprol".

Lozart reacted to MrTea in Gun picture thread
So, I haven't shared this yet despite having it sat around for a few months. For context this was a boneyard A&K Masada/ACR. When I got it, the exterior of the rifle was scuffed, chipped and dented beyond belief and the previous owner had even super glued rails to the handguard. Instead of fixing the ambi fire selector properly, they had also super glued the fire selector on which I've since fixed. Since it was already destroyed externally I decided to go the absolute opposite way of what I normally go for, so I went with the brightest colours I could think of.
Is it cursed? I think I actually prefer it to the standard look of most of my RIFs.

Lozart reacted to Impulse in Stuck choosing between LPVOs
I did look at the other Victoptics ones, but honestly that 1-6x is the best for what I want it to do. Good to hear that there is no real discernable difference (my eyesight is only 20/20 when corrected too!) and £91 is absolutely fine for me to pay. If I was getting a scope for a real gun I'd spend more and also if I was getting a scope for one of my bolt action rifles or DMRs I'd spend more as well because I love my long distance archery airsoft, but as it's for a 1.1J recce rifle style build, I'm sure this 1-6x will be absolutely fine for what I want to do

Lozart got a reaction from Impulse in Stuck choosing between LPVOs
I have both Vector Optics and Victoptics scopes and honestly, I'm hard pressed to see the difference. Granted my eyesight is only 202/20 when it's corrected and I'm just using it for airsoft but still. If you want to go cheaper and simpler Victoptics do a 1-4 LPVO now as well https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002037442492.html?pdp_npi=4%40dis!GBP!£67.32!£49.14!!!81.29!59.34!%40211b801517132614736886930e161e!12000036678249127!sh!UK!759559025!&spm=a2g0o.store_pc_allItems_or_groupList.new_all_items_2007523591909.1005002037442492

That's fair, I have the G&P mounts for mine so they sit quite low anyway. Medium rings the scope at a decent height for me. I might still have some low rings though (I'll have a look and drop you a DM).
This is mine for reference - be aware if you go too low you may end up fouling on the rear sight!
