  1. Except that a bout of the shits and spewing your ring from drinking contaminated water exacerbates your dehydration. So it had better be an extreme emergency to drink water you know to be contaminated to "survive".
  2. As long as the charging handle pulls the mock bolt out the way of the hop unit it doesn't really matter what the dust cover does!
  3. Definitely flat like your second pic. Where did you get it from? I take it it came in a proper E&C package and everything?
  4. That's what mine looks like too (E&C M16A2 receiver set). To be fair, mine arrived preassembled so it's not been an issue but the charging handle end is like this:
  5. I'll have a look at mine later, from the outside there seems to be an extra little tag that sticks out the top of the ejection port that flips the cover open.
  6. Is this happening when the gun is assembled, with the gearbox in?
  7. The Specna M249 range is a direct copy (potentially just rebadged) A&K. If you look on the gearbox casing it should have an A&K marking. Regardless, the gearbox takes standard V2 gears and IIRC the motor is a short shaft. When you say you want to improve RoF, by how much? The box mags aren't great at keeping up with ridiculous RoF anyway but more to the point, it's a support gun. You can suppress better with a lower rate of fire. As for range - better hop rubber is where I'd start. Most of the aftermarket hop units seem to cause feeding issues, if you're not getting enough hop it could be suffering from the same problem that the Classic Army and A&K guns do that the bit that presses down on the nub just doesn't have enough travel. Google for "A&K M249 biro mod".
  8. It's exactly that. IIRC Beta Project made the old PTS PMags way WAAAAY back.
  9. Looks like the Beta Project EXP mag to me, 140 rnd AEG versions are available but seem to be a bit hard to find in the UK. I have some, they're....OK.
  10. As far as the gears themselves go, a set of standard V3 compatible gears should be fine. The gearbox case is a bit specific because of the recoil function but that's about it.
  11. I think it's a lesson in not penny pinching. The only times I use Evri is if it's a service provided by a seller for returns (like Amazon). Pay the extra 50p. As far as refunds go, pay up and claim it back. It's your responsibility until the customer receives it.
  12. Not always. My only Perun is in my G&G SR25. That doesn't have Auto. The fire selector will not physically go past safe and the trigger board has no "auto" switch on it. Programming that was not easy.
  13. Main connector is a mini Tamiya, small connector is a JST. The small one plugs into the white socket on the side of the B6, line up the black (-ve) wire with the -ve side of the socket (it's designed for also charging bigger batteries with more cells). Note that the mini Tamiya IS NOT wired the same as the RC wiring of the same connector. If you buy adaptors make sure you get the right (airsoft) type.

Ultimately it's a longer, semi only version of their standard 417. General consensus seems to be that they're a solid V2.5 style gearbox so should have plenty of volume to be DMR material. I'm certainly looking at the standard 417 to make into a Benghazi/13 hours style DMR.
  15. Use it for a while and then decide what needs doing. Not before you buy the thing.
  16. I have the same gun with similar issues. Following with interest!
  17. Nuprol make very little. They tend to just rebrand other peoples stuff. Every once in a while they rebrand something good. Even a broken clock is right twice a day!
  18. They both come with the Gate Aster programmable MOSFET. So yes, they both have a decent fire control system. If you want to program them though you will need either the Gate USB-Link or the Gate Blu-Link.
  19. Absolutely, other than being drier than a nuns fanny it seems to be in pretty good nick.
  20. I was just thinking that, it's in bloody good nick for its age!
  21. Batteries - Turnigy or Vapex Speed loader - Odin M12 (cheap copies exist but are universally crap) or a Tokyo Marui one (the one that's shaped like an M4 magazine), again the cheap copies are crap. Lens Protectors - depends on what sight you get but https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/reddotengineering As far as tracers and red dots go, it entirely depends on your budget. Holy Warrior, Vortex and Vector Optics are good, WADSN, Evolution Gear, Night Evolution are all decent too. Just be aware that if you buy from a UK shop you will be paying over the odds. Tracers are a bit of a mixed bag but one or other of the Acetech ones seems to be the go to.
  22. Wow, that is OLD! The different design of tappet plate would certainly account for what you're seeing. The fix will still be a longer nozzle though as you can't get tappet plates like that any more.
  23. We have a winner! Tip of the nozzle isn't sealing with the rubber.
