Looking for beta testers for a new airsoft social website
Lozart replied to Bo B's topic in General Discussion
I'd say that people gravitated towards social media based groups but are starting to be pushed back down the forum route due to restrictions being placed on firearm related social media content. Personally, given the nature of discussion around what we enjoy, I find the long form format of the forum more useful because it goes further than "sik gun innit" and technical advice can be in a more detailed style. -
ASG Armalite M15A4 - does it have much potential? (+ hop unit question)
Lozart replied to pyromancer6's topic in General Help
It's a very old design so was never really intended for a rotary hop unit. You might have better luck with a decent quality traditional style hop unit as it's slimmer overall. Alternatively (with my engineering head on) you could try filing the adjuster ring down to a smaller size and cutting new knurls on it for grip. -

You are correct, but everyones idea of "good UI design" is different. For example, I work in Industrial Automation, part and parcel of that is operator interfaces for machines. Every client we have wants their UI a certain way which in and of itself is fine but if an operator is familiar with how machine A works and then has to go and work on machine B which does exactly the same thing but is made by a different company then the UI will be different so will require familiarisation. If you design a UI from an iOS users perspective, it will not feel intuitive to an Android user and vice versa. You may not be familiar with the layout of this forum because it's not what you use but those of us that use forums a lot are very familiar with it because it uses the same platform a lot of other forums do. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that the utopia of universal UI is not easy at all. -
@Biggie-Banana264 is it just the size of the outlay that concerns you or the risk of getting a lemon? As RIFs go the edge 2.0 range is pretty decent, it's certainly at a price point where you should expect a reliable and reasonably well performing gun. If you get a lemon out of the box, just send it back. The consumer protections are there for a reason! If you buy second hand you probably stand a higher chance of getting a lemon, particularly if it's been "upgraded" (translation: pre-fucked). Bear in mind that the reason you might see a disproportionately high number of people criticizing a product online is that most people that are perfectly happy with something don't go out of their way to sing its praises online. If it's the pure cost element that is giving you pause then either a) save a bit more, or b) pick something cheaper that is still well regarded (like Double Eagle or a G&G Combat Machine) and work up to a more expensive gun once you've decided that yes, airsoft is the massive hole you wish to throw all your spare cash into.

Really not sure why they're marketing it specifically for any type of MP5 to be honest. Barring a few exceptions most AEG cylinders are the same length (within tolerances). The important bit is where the vent hole is for your length of barrel. A 220mm barrel would be more like a 3/4 hole, that one looks like a 4/5 hole so may be a bit over volume for what you need. One like this - https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/cylinders/xt-cylinder-anti-heat-3-4
-
Take the gearbox out of the lower, there's more likely to be markings on the bit you can't see!
-
TopTech isn't the name for the flappy horrible pneumatic blowback. It's just the range of guns that had an MP5 with it on. But yes, good riddance. Stupid idea.

If you look at the table on the second page of that, you will see that in "temple mode" ie - worn as glasses without the strap, the lenses are rated to EN166F. Worn with the strap they are EN166 3 4 B. By wearing them with the strap the unit as a whole can be classed as goggles and hence gets an EN166B rating. EN166 F is the highest you can get with glasses because part of the classification for goggles is that they won't get knocked off by the impact.

This. There are some masks that come with alternative straps but not off the shelf straps to fit the kind of mask you have. Get some of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Helmtet-Release-Airsoft-Accessories-equipped/dp/B07QXN44GR?th=1 and some of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=10mm+tri+glide&adgrpid=127019218228&hvadid=592919941386&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9045741&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=11154678203543127172&hvtargid=kwd-502974139876&hydadcr=22614_2214444&tag=googhydr-21&ref=pd_sl_782nulc56e_e (check the width of your straps for the right size).

I don't think it's actually M-Lok though. IIRC it takes rail sections that screw on with the little holes between the slots. But yes, one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/OTraki-Swivels-Adapter-Picatinny-Mounting/dp/B07KYFZCCR/ref=sr_1_5?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Jj5t2L4VUAuUsyIfsTpM5dOUKCyXu_OJ99eUR9c6agoNLDHyDwcgsXw47rRqkaL_H7K5dKPbMcno3ecwjH-7R2PIFQIiWY6z_COOeReTv8jzV6bQ928NzJbqyEh-4fnw1uk4v-kMd_BqFBsyB0pF9QIbPQpE6yjj4ALolTsC-IIRgVyoL0H3x1otmUUBYd9oPMC-17GfyD-k_yXdJKLwZZsiD92pv01M4tIkK9pn4dhrc3UbIO2epb_8S5Met-B8MkFv349a9eW9zrIB0Z84fmnhvTFUL9ihxNafid-v0wQ.8J8g11DiJTkJhy9Pzdc2tUqCGxElIr6Q_mvPgyvvRz8&dib_tag=se&keywords=qd+sling+mounts&qid=1721118306&sr=8-5 and you can attach any 2-point sling you like with either plain ends or clips. -
It's not even "custom"...that's how they come! 🤮

The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Lozart replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Neither have I, I'd still go for an LPVO over a copy DR any day of the week. Needed another pistol. Innit. -
Looks like the proprietary VFC Avalon ETU.
-
Presumably, even at airsoft speeds, the further apart the sensors are, the more accurate the readings are likely to be?

All the ones I've tried have had really bad eye relief and piss poor shadowing from the tube on 4x. Personally I don't think that any of them are worth the weight. -
If any of the multitude of VFC teching videos are anything to go by, the piston probably fits like a dick in a shirt sleeve. How up for ripping it apart and tinkering are you?
