That's not true. The mAh capacity of the battery is not affected by the discharge rate. A 2000mAh battery is a 2000mAh battery regardless of if you drain it at 2mA or 2A, it will discharge for longer at a lower current but the overall capacity remains the same. Cell discharge rate is affected by chemistry and quality of manufacture, that is true. LiPo batteries can discharge at much higher currents than Li-Ion for example, but will sag more under load. And yes, a cheap shit battery will always perform poorly compared to a high quality one (although given the spectrum of quality in airsoft batteries that is pretty much moot because they all suck balls to some degree). The actual numbers DO matter if you're trying to make sure that the battery you want will meet your needs. For example if you have limited battery space and can only fit a physically small battery in then it makes sense to go for the highest quality you can afford so that you get the best performance from that physical size. If size is not a restriction then yes, go nuts - as long as the current capability of the battery meets or exceeds your demand then you'll be golden.

My best friend had a 4.5l V8 Cerbera. Hilariously good fun to drive (he was mental enough to let me drive it). First thing the starter motor died and the bell housing seal went (apparently a known issue that one). Then the electrics died because they were all in ABS project boxes under the rear window (which leaks) and just got full of water. Then the rear suspension collapsed. Three times. The third time, the drive shaft broke as well. After having it for about 2 years he decided enough was enough and chopped it in for a Dodge Viper. When they test drove it before taking it as a trade in it was good job they never got it out of first gear because the mesh in third just didn't work. Looked amazing though and was fast AS FUCK!

Yeah, but fuck me they were fun to drive. The best description I ever heard of a TVR was "they're like a kit car, but in reverse" because they disassemble themselves around you.

It's probably like the good old 56mpg "urban cycle" figures from car manufacturers that are done with the engine out on a bench with a simulated load. Given a fixed load with a known current they possibly do come close (ish) to the numbers on the pack, but in actual use in an AEG? Not so much.

The idea that an airsoft AEG works with a constant current is complete rubbish too. If you're firing in full auto then you'll get a high inrush current that will settle to a lower running current. If you're spamming semi then you'll just be getting endless inrush current spikes.

When the events mentioned in my post occurred the pump action gas breachers and tactical 870's were all the rage and people were happily pumping away like a hormonal teenager. When the AA12 turned up it was a new thing, it was hilarious and most importantly they were more money than most people wanted to splash on a shottie. They are an outlier in the world of airsoft dick moves because yes, you can massively overkill with it but it's also massive, plastic and expensive so not many people bothered. As for the 6 shot spread - that's kind of the point of a shotgun.

That's the thing though isn't it. They took their time, designed a system that actually works and released it when they were ready. All the aftermarket "fixes" are to improve performance in countries OUTSIDE of Japan (other than the obvious cosmetic ones of course) because they work just fine for their market. All the while that airsofters are happy to buy endless iterations of an M4, they're happy to keep churning them out, and quite honestly - who can blame them?

Back in the good old days of The Mall there was a couple of AA12s. I seem to recall the rule of three being enforced after someone had a particularly hilarious/savage round of spamming the fuck out of the 6 shot setting with a drum mag on.

Winters in Japan get pretty cold so it's no surprise that the gas system that performs best in the lower temps was developed in (and for) Japan. Japanese industry is also very insular so they will prefer to manufacture for and with other Japanese companies.

SCAR H mags are essentially a modified FAL mag so anyth9ing that fits those will work.

I think the point that everyone is missing here is that the sling techniques that apply to firearms don't really apply to airsoft. Putting tension on the sling is usually to help with stability and recoil control. Airsoft guns really don't have that problem. Set up the sling however is comfortable for YOU. If you want more tension on it, have more tension on it. If you want room to maneuvre the gun about have less tension on it. If you want both, get an adjustable sling.

That's as maybe but it isn't worth that much to an airsofter.
