  1. Short answer: yes Long answer: also yes but with the caveat that different manufacturers are better than others. For example, I currently have a Tokyo Marui M9A1 which is one of their more recent designs with a larger blow back unit for more snappy pews. It works quite happily in cold weather and shoots quite nicely. I used to have the SOCOM Gear M9A1 which was all metal, with the lower rail and looked great, but leaked gas like a sieve and maybe got half a dozen rounds off before completely degassing IN THE SUMMER! In summary, get the TM M9A1 and enjoy pwning n00bs.
  2. Didn't realise you were in my neck of the woods!
  3. You're supposed to pay import fees and VAT on everything you import that hasn't had tax paid at source. That said, it very much depends on what the vendor puts on the CN22 form (ie the value they declare it at).
  4. Just to add, I'd steer clear of the EPM1 mags. There is a wealth of people that have had feeding issues with them.
  5. The post was over 2 years ago and that user hasn't posted since about a month after that was posted.
  6. You've pretty much answered your own questions but: a) because the barrel length is different b) more fps, but not necessarily better range or accuracy c) stronger spring will get the power up, as will a tighter barrel (but not by as much). Better hop rubber should improve range/accuracy but ymmv.
  7. Makes sense! When I read it I thought "that sounds about as useful at tits on a boar" but that's more information about the inner workings of my mind than ANYBODY needs.
  8. I'm confused about what you think is so chunky about this? I have an MP5 with a CompM2 clone on it and that looks fine to me! Almost as confused at the thought of a red dot being particularly useful on a DMR...
  9. Yeah, volts are volts. The EFCS can't tell what it's coming from unless it's set up to detect specific voltage ranges as being acceptable. That might form part of its battery protection for example so that it knows not to keep running and deep discharge your battery. In theory it may be possible that they have set two specific levels for that function (ie 7.4 and 11.1) so it can't work out where to stop with a 9.9v battery but that just seems like piss poor design. Oh...wait....airsoft. That'll be what it is.
  10. Good points all but don't assume that the gearbox has any sort of quality grease unless you've cleaned it out and redone it yourself. My guns have lithium grease on the gears, but they mostly came with some kind of amalgam of earwax and glue that Chinese manufacturers call grease.
  11. I think that this is the critical bit most people miss. The horror stories about LiPos mostly come from the RC scene where there are much bigger batteries and a higher chance of kinetic disassembly. The more likely culprit in airsoft is either user error whereby the user charges them on a cheap POS charger or user error where they just wilfully mistreat them. Sounds like bullshit but if they have set up any sort of voltage level checking in their mosfet they might just refuse to work with anything of too high/low a voltage. My G&G SR25 doesn't like 7.4v LiPos and beeps like mad before deciding not to play. Haven't tried it with a LiFe yet but just an example for you.
  12. The rifle on its own is about a kilo lighter. How the LPVO/RDS stacks up against a SUSAT someone else would have to check.
  13. https://www.reddit.com/r/SneakyBackgroundFeet/ Go on. I dare you.
  14. Pretty sure those are a slightly different set of balls altogether...
  15. Accessories like what, exactly?
  16. BE CAREFUL with those tabs. If they snap you'll need a new receiver.
  17. Has someone changed the hop unit? The original is a two part unit that should come apart when you split the receiver. If it's the original receiver but an aftermarket, one piece hop unit then the hop unit itself may be getting stuck as the receiver has a different profile.
  18. ESS still make the Turbofan Profile model but they seem to be moving towards a passive anti-fog solution. Probably down to weight/battery availability at a guess? See if they're at DSEI and ask?
  19. Storage charging is really only needed if you're planning to not use them for several months.
  20. They've pretty much all gone online! We had a surprising lack of surplus stores where I grew up given that it was up the road from Sandhurst and Aldershot. HM Supplies was in the town (Camberley) and there was always a good stall at the weekly market at Blackbushe but otherwise you were pretty much stuck with high end military tailors or places flogging new Kombat UK gear!
