  1. Excellent use of technical terminology!
  2. Hi Edd, while your chosen sport is somewhat outside of our purview, what brand of glasses are you using. Personally I've not had any issue with glasses from people like ESS or Revision but we don't deal with anything near the optical quality you do!
  3. If you want to go for realism, the M249 uses 200 round box mags or 30 round STANAGs. The VFC can take gas in a STANAG or box (so 30 or 200), maybe if a 100round nutsack was an option? I get that this is a niche thing and not loads of people can afford it but still.
  4. I mean...it's a gas SAW and all but 100 round midcaps in a support weapon? Nah.
  5. Is it this: https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/raven-meu-railed-series-1911-gbb-pistol ?
  6. Fair play for giving it a go! This might be a better walkthrough for disassembly
  7. Hi and welcome to the madhouse! Try having a look on YouTube for "airsoft 1911 disassembly" or "Raven 1911 disassembly", you might find that you've lost more out the back when it went all pingfuckit! That said (and yes, this is going to be harsh), Raven pistols are garbage. Bin it and get something better.
  8. Or run the URL through a site like https://www.scamadviser.com/ There are extensions for Chrome that can do the same thing too.
  9. Facts. Better springs hold their strength for longer (like the nice Japanese steel ones that @ak2m4 is selling now under his XT brand - plug, plug) and yes, springs can lose their oomph over time especially if they're held in compression, but it really isn't noticeable over a day. Yep. Physics, innit. So...you operated a machine incorrectly and it broke. Sound about right?
  10. In terms of numbers my local sites are still going strong. As for the case of changing styles of play? Trends come and go. Yes, speedsofters have pretty much taken over any and all indoor sites, so go outdoors there's a lot less of them there. Granted CQB is where I started off (ahhh...The Mall....good times) but it was always the same - some that were happy to follow a bang through a door way and a bunch of wusses gagglefucking outside. Captain Teamkill shouting from the back to "move up" and going nowhere himself. Pretty much all that's changed is the guns have got shorter and there's more kids in lycra. Before AEGs were a thing ALL guns had hoses on them. HPA is nothing new and I doubt it's going away, finding a responsible site that polices its players is the way to change things though, not broad brushing the whole crowd as cheaters. There were just as many bad sportsmen before the tanks and airlines resurfaced.
  11. FTFY Completely TM compatible too!
  12. Remember that Li-poly batteries are still Lithium Ion technology.
  13. The rate of fire will slow down but the actual muzzle energy is NOT affected by the speed of the gearbox cycling unless it is cycling so fast as to cause pre-engagement. Once the sector gear lets go of the piston rack it's purely down to the main spring to provide the motive force. Yes, surface imperfections on the BB and dirt on the barrel can impact performance but as @Leo Greer mentioned the difference in FPS is minimal unless the BBs are awful or your barrel is basically blocked. If an AEG is firing with progressively lower muzzle energy then it won't be caused by the battery or the speed of the motor. Equally your statement that ALL AEGs do this is patently false and most likely observation bias.
  14. Totally depends on the chemistry. The main difference between "traditional" Li-Ion cells and Li-poly cells is that the dielectric in Li-Ion is liquid where the dielectric in LiPo is a dry or gel type polymer (which is more stable and less prone to thermal runaway). They can both have varying chemistry depending on application. It's all down to the chemistry and physics of battery charge. If your battery for example is 1000mAh capacity and you charge from flat at a rate of 1C (ie 1x battery capacity in Amps - in this case 1 Amp) then it will take about an hour. If you charge the same battery at 3C (3 Amps) then yes, it will take around 20 minutes. The point we have tried to help you understand is that not ALL LiPos charge "in 20 minutes" because it depends on a) their max capacity, b) how flat it is and c) what rate you charge them at.
  15. Take out the four screws that hold the retention straps in place. Line up the cover with the NVG shroud and then fold the tabs inside the helmet and screw the retention straps back in through the holes in the tabs. Tack any remaining overlapping fabric between the shell and the polystyrene liner. Basically, this:
  16. *not a fact. Depends on capacity, level of remaining charge and charging rate. While LiPos can be "fast charged", it is NOT the recommended method. Charging rate should ideally match the mAh value of the battery - 1400mAh charge at 1.4A, 3000mAh charge at 3A. Fast charging is likely to shorten the life of the battery.
  17. Paint pen. For full allyness, use a lovely shade of pale blue. Or an Edding 751 for full on civil service shite.

    Mags?

I've just realised that I was looking at the side of a Nuprol mag that doesn't have the calibre on. As @Cannonfodder said, probably Nuprol.

    Mags?

They're not Nuprol as they don't have the calibre marking on them. Pretty sure they're battleaxe ones: https://uk-airsoft.co.uk/product/battleaxe-p-mag-sr25-hi-cap-magazine-black/
