  1. To be fair you could probably extend the life of the uppers by using a standard waterproofing spray, any half decent shoe shop will have something but try Blacks or Millets and get the stuff sold for walking boots - just make sure you tell them the material (you don't want a wax product). You'll not get wet feet in the rain that way but you'll probably not want to be standing about in anything deeper than your soles. Partly because your feet will get wet but mostly because it'll start feeling like actually being in the army.
  2. Cordura is a type of nylon. Water won't rot it alone but as to whether or not your boots are waterproof or not - that's a whole different question. If they are the Viper "Tactical boots" like this: http://www.viperkit.co.uk/products/footwear/tactical-boots.aspx they have a "waterproof, breathable lining" If they are the Viper "Elite 5" boots like this: http://www.viperkit.co.uk/products/footwear/elite-5-boots-coyote.aspx they also boast a "hydroguard waterproof membrane" If they are the Viper "Special Ops" boots like this: http://www.viperkit.co.uk/products/footwear/special-ops-boots-multicam.aspx then don't go stepping in any deep puddles. Side zips make waterproofing the uppers a bit pointless.
  3. Pull back the charging handle (the T shaped bit at the back of the receiver - just below the rear sight). Look in the bit where spent shells would come out of the real gun (right hand side above the magazine well). You should see that a cover has pulled back and inside there should be a plastic wheel with little ribs on it. This is your hop adjuster. There may be an arrow on it that says "UP" next to it. Turning the wheel in the direction of the arrow will increase the effect of the hop unit. Start by turning it as far in the opposite direction as it will go. The BB won't go very far before dropping downwards. Turn the hop adjuster up and try again. You should start to see the BB go further before dropping. If you see the BB start to travel upwards then you have added too much hop and you need to back it off a little.
  4. ESS profile goggles ftw. Turbofan ones if you're a sweaty one...
  5. Condor kit is fine for the average airsofter. The butthurt in the US is mostly down to people wanting it for activities other than airsoft (survivalists and the like) when it does show its shortcomings compared to "real steel" kit. I have a Condor Battle Belt and it's been absolutely fine.
  6. Somewhere in these parts you'll find my "Strike Back" M4. It's front wired and has a Magpul stock so it necessitates the need for a PEQ battery box. Which is handy because it fits the look of the screen gun. Other than that, ignore the haters. If you want a PEQ box, get a PEQ box. It's your gun and you're the one that has to lug it around. The Element PEQ 15 is supposed to be quite good as far as having a useful functional torch but if you JUST want it for the torch there are much better options for the money (Night Evolution M300 scout light for example). Bear in mind that a lot of sites don't like you using lasers let alone green ones so don't pay over the odds for a PEQ battery box just because it has a laser in it.
  7. Alright guys, calm down. There was a good article on why P* guns are perceived as hitting harder in one of the Airsoft magazines, I'll see if I can find it but it was along the lines that due to the way they work HPA users tend to use heavier ammo which through the joy of conservation of momentum has more of the kinetic energy it's imparted with still left when it makes contact. Thing is though it's STILL only 1J (especially at the Mall due to their strict FPS enforcement). Generally I don't have an issue with anyone using an HPA gun. If they want to lug a tank of air along with everything else then hey, that's their problem. The one in use at the Mall however is set up with a ROF like a sewing machine and THAT I do have an issue with. But then I have an issue with that regardless of the gun or how it's powered.
  8. Thanks for all the congrats guys, certainly been quite stressful already, the housing market round here is CRAZY! No armoury as such but I'm looking at turning the end of the garage into an area for guns and airbrushing. The weird part about it is that the house we're in now (whilst it's in the middle of a shitty council estate) has got quite big rooms so we're effectively paying more money to downsize albeit into a much nicer area and a semi instead of a mid terrace.
  9. It was chronod on the day so it would have been 340 at the most. I know the guy in question and he's generally very good about hits etc. As for an HPA hitting harder? It's just not true. 1J muzzle energy is the same regardless of motive power, FPS or BB weight.
  10. You want an "over the barrel" suppressor. Like this one: http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/airsoft/swiss-arms-over-barrel-silencer-for-m4-aeg-series-14mm-ccw.htm#.VdX6CvlViko Basically the threads start halfway down the suppressor.
  11. First off, how old is it? If it's new then just go use it.
  12. Or if you don't want to feck about with the guns wiring then you can get an adaptor: http://eagle6.co.uk/shop/catalog/product/view/id/581/s/triggertalk-battery-adaptor-for-m4-416-next-generation-recoil-shock-series/
  13. Trust me, we (the orange team) had plenty of rentals that couldn't tell the difference between friendly and enemy. Or what a hit was. Or how far away they could actually hit something. Still.....it was a laugh. Me and my buddy Greg bailed out before the last game though. I got hit in the top of the head which made me actually feel a bit sick and he'd only had 3 hours sleep. Combined with endlessly being shot by our own team and the non hit taking I very nearly had a sense of humour failure so we decided discretion was the better part of valour and left. Did you see the door shatter in the afternoon though? That was EPIC!
  14. DAMN YOU!!!!!! Mind you, that iron WILL be shit.
  15. Google is your friend: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colt_Commander#Colt_Combat_Commander_.281970.2B.29 Sorry - just noticed you were after the airsoft manufacturer not what the actual pistol is based on.

  17. Stop beating about the bush and say how you really feel.
  18. As opposed to Raging Speedhorn? Isn't speedsoft that thing they do in paintball arenas with the inflatable obstacles?
