  1. No idea, When I bought mine it listed the Eotech model numbers it fitted.
  2. Either will work. One of the screws on the exterior case on mine has a damaged allen key slot so I cant get the case off to fit the clean lens protector. I managed to cut the flash kill back and insert it from the front.
  3. Ive been searching for military style lower masks as a lot of the masks on the airsoft market dont look very mil. I have quite a collection of different solutions and one of my favourites is a quad bike dust mask. Its hard to visualise the end product of your project but it looks like its going the right way. If the material is a permanent fixture, it might be a bit hot in the warmer weather. Suggest you check to make sure your exhaling breath doesnt fog your ballistics. I presume your use of perforated foam is designed to stop that ?
  4. Nearly did some crewing on a private milsim at UCAP a few weekends ago but the organiser cancelled it with a week to go. Was looking forward to seeing UCAP. We do our own milsims every four months which chews up my airsofting opportunities.
  5. There are a lot of airsoft weapons available at that price range. Have a look at G&G, Krytac and G&P for AEGs. Its probably better you throw up a few models you like the look of, for comments.
  6. Sorry about your trouble, Ive never heard of any of these companies. I dont know what amount of money you spent, but its always worth checking retailers out on here. Collectively, we've probably dealt with most of them. We all get caught out occasionally. I guess its a consequence of buying online although Paypal are usually quite good. I bought a decent bipod from a supplier of outdoor and rifle stuff. When I asked if they had sent it yet, they immediately said it should have been with me by now and offered to refund. My suspicions were triggered. On checking they claimed it was despatched by first class post instead of a trackable courier and blamed human error. They said they will refund me and asked that I let them know if it ever turns up. As its a Paypal pay once its delivered type transaction, Im waiting to see if the bipod turns up or Paypal try to debit my bank account. For some reason, I have a sneaky suspicion that they found they were out of stock and its some kind of cover up - we will see. They are a long established Paypal trader with in excess of 99.6% feedback so maybe Im just cynical.
  7. Well not greatly impressed with the XTMs now Ive played with them. Theyre not genuine Magpul on closer inspection and they look a bit cheap and nasty when on and they are quite hard to fit flush and continuous. I bought some of the ribbed covers (the ones with the push clip at one end) but they are a pig to slide too far down the rail. Decided to fit a couple of these at the end near the bipod and will fit ladders on the rest of the rail as I can only access it from one end.
  8. Its a common problem. Some sites are better than others in that some dont care too much or have favourite cliques which can do no wrong. Without naming names, Ive seen some sites come down very hard with schoolboy talkings to and marshals shooting suspects anonymously to see if the accused really are guilty. The only way to do something about it is to vote with your feet. If you experience it, complain to the organisers. If it doesnt get sorted in a reasonable time frame, play somewhere else.
  9. I have no background in airsoft and still dont know that much about the internal workings of AEGs above a cursory understanding. I got a very quick run through on my first ever game where I had a rented M4. They briefly mentioned about the need to wind the high cap but not how often or how much. It took me a little while for me to realise that I was engaging in firefights and no BBs were coming out, because I hadn't wound on enough.
  10. Normal practice in real life is to keep your iron sights and co-witness, but normally the heights are a problem on a lot of Airsoft kit unless you buy very carefully, so many just remove and retain the iron sights. I also like to have canted iron sights for if there is an optic problem but these dont work on Airsoft weapons because they dont shoot straight enough on a tilted weapon.

  12. A trailer for Operation Firestorm. https://youtu.be/eA700Umg8aQ
  13. Im very into black and green airsoft rifles at the moment. I understand your interest in RG as Ive been looking at introducing this type of colour to my black rifles to break up the shape and colour. Ive just bought some MSA Sordins and ordered the green earshell variant from Sweden specially as I like the colour so much for the field.
  14. No problem. Your money. Just be advised that IMHO people usually get bored of plinking after a while, especially as airsoft rifles are not that accurate or powerful for target shooting. Assuming that you then want to go skirmishing you might regret having a two tone. You only need to play three x day games for UKARA which takes about two months and many universities have skirmish teans or clubs.
  15. if you dont mind me asking, what do you plan on using the rifle for if youre not interested in getting a defence so you can buy a RIF ?
  16. We do milsims at Eversley near Farnborough. Next one is August 22nd.
  17. Tried to get others to go with me, but they always had an excuse when it came to booking so just went on my own in the end. Felt a bit weird turning up there on my jack and the site didnt really go out of their way to help beyond the basic rental safety brief, so I asked the organiser if they could introduce me to someone who would show me the ropes for my first game, so they did. Dont think he was overjoyed at having a newbie asking stupid questions of him, but he did help. I found that if you dont put yourself about, people will just cluster in their teams or with their regular game buddies and leave you to your own devices. As said before, if you chat to people, especially other players there on their own, they will open up. Guns and kit always being a conversation opener. Once I persevered and played there two or three times, people started to get more friendly. In hindsight I think they get a lot of one time only rentals looking for a day out, so they dont get too excited until you show some commitment. Also, because Im a mature player, somebody told me later that they thought I was a journalist writing about the evils of airsoft at first so were a bit wary about saying too much until they sussed me out - go figure !
  18. Another vote for the grey shop. Ask for Sergey.
  19. Yes we played the last two games at Kings Langley at J20 on the M25 but the next two; August and January will at the other site at Eversley which is just a little way down the M3 and even further from Colchester. My Colchester mates cant make the next one as they have a mates wedding but Im sure they will be there in January.
  20. Yes the guy that runs Bunker is ex REME and owns the shop which sells outdoor gear, airsoft and rents kit. The airsoft site was an additional activity but there have been changes in staff etc after their original site had to close. I did hear that they were doing CQB on the MOD site occasionally. Ive got a mate who comes to our milsims who lives in that part of the world and knows the scene quite well.
  21. Bunker 39 had to move from their previous site in Colchester because of some issues with the local residents and Ive lost track of what they are up to now. AWA isnt bad but they are in Sawbridgeworth technically just across the border. There is a review on here I believe.
  22. If you are over 18, you dont need to prove anything about ownership providing guns are kept our of public view, once you are in-country. I tend to carry a site card when on the way to a game just in case I get stopped by the police, but it has no legal standing and I doubt if the police would take much notice of an unofficial card membership from a site. Seems a bit amateurish compared to the Netherlands, but it kind of works somehow. Your fps arent that different. Just check the site limits before you book any games here. I must be thinking of somewhere else with low limits (Belgium perhaps ?). By the way, the Belgium/France/Dutch border is non existent really. The UK has a potential stop and search border at all ferry ports.
  23. Welcome to the UK - that about sums us up. As its not illegal to own RIFs, I cant see the value of UKARA for you. However, you will need to satisfy HM customs at your port of entry. I would carry evidence of your Dutch airsofting experience such as photos, site memberships and your ID card and declare yourself at the customs, explaining the situation. If you are open and honest, you should be okay. You will eventually need UKARA if you want somebody to sell you more RIFs when you live here. I think Holland also has lower fps limits ?
